  1. So this mini has been passed along through 3 people before getting to my husband who said only "I think it's a RalPartha ogre." I've found nothing in my attempts to identify it. Unfortunately it was already black primered, so the pictures aren't grand. There appears to be 2 rats on (or coming out of?) it's back, and there's a fish hanging off the belt in the back. Anybody have a clue on this guy?
  2. I painted up these four turtles from the Critter Commandos game for my kid. No real serious attempts at shading, just a bit on the shells and skins. He wanted them done with some bits on there matching the colors of the TMNTs. And the barrels on the big guy in red are each painted a requested color to designate different types of weapons. I received very specific instructions on that part. Anyways, nothing fancy, but they were fun little tabletop pieces.
  3. I am really happy with this guy, so of course his little buddy who lights his barrels on fire got broken in transport. That's always what happens with a model you're pleased with, right? I still have him but I want to pin him so this doesn't happen again. Decided to photograph him now, before I bust out the sharp objects. Strongly considered rusting up his metals, but in the end I felt perhaps his little (broken) buddy loves him enough to keep his armour shiny and pretty.
  4. Hi folks, long time no see Here's my latest piece, painted for the Rainbow Brush contest at the WAMP forum. Relatively quick work, but I'm glad I got back to paints and brushes
  5. I'll take any and all criticism, Juliette was my first real attempt at shading. I failed at shading/blending skin tones, but I think I didn't do too horribly on the cloak. She'd just gotten her nails done and was sporting a nice fingerless glove... When she was attacked by a nasty adventurer! The poor abberation was doing well until the crazy adventurer summoned her golem! Which then led to a merry chase scene.
  6. In an effort to force myself to work on details, I picked up this guy and painted him tonight. Everything done with a 00 brush under magnifying glass. My eyes hate me for having to refocus so much. I'd have Reaper stuff up, but I'm waiting on mah Bones!
  7. So, I blame a handful of people over in this thread. "You can always simple green it!" "That's an awesome model!" "You can do it, gift shop resin's been painted before!" That, and it's actually fun. However, I'm not dumb enough to immediately go onto the big guy. I've got a smaller dragon that hangs off a wall that can be used as a test subject. Here we are, washed up and ready to go. Mini included for size comparison. Primered. Or Gesso'd, as is this case. Considering this will be all of the fourth thing I've painted, I have no qualms with taking any and all adv
  8. Fighting with my camera over backgrounds and stability. Had to use flash to get the focus right . #001, #002: 1" ?Ochre? jellies: Brown tinted PVA on top of lunar stone base [grey felt hardened with non tinted PVA]. Small plastic beads for nucleus. #003: 1.5" Black tinted PVA on top of red sand with similar beads for nucleus. #004: 1.5" Green tinted PVA on a lightly textured 'road' base, Tried working other colours in, not happy with the results. #005: 3" Like #003 but bigger, more eyes Maybe second photo will be less eye gouging.
