  1. Greetings forum things! Once again, I, the Griffin of Grumpiness snag the tattered robe of the Quisitor in my beak for this the ninth month of Old Rome's calendar and also the month all Turkeys Dread! Question for Thursday, Nov 1st: Halloween is behind us, how long will you tolerate the decorations thereof? When do yours (if you had some) get stowed away for next year?
  2. Working graveyard shift like: I don't know what day it is anymore. Please see page 1 here for rules and guidelines/questions. This is also the chatter thread here: The total painted is awaiting update.Soon http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/58628-resolutionary-painting-challenge-chatterinfo-thread/ Also, please only create a single index post for your links. This means to modify your existing post when you get a new figure finished instead of posting a new one. This month's challenge is: 5 Bonus Challenge is: The technical deadline Is planned for December 1, Midnight, RST. (Reaper Standard Time). ...I think we all know the actual deadline is whenever I get around to it, and if pictures are delayed, get them up when possible.
  3. This is an old hero-clix figure that I acquired somewhere along the line. It's supposed to be Rasputin, but I figured he had 'evil cultist' written all over him. He was fairly quick to paint; all I did was touch up the (sloppy) factory paintjob and change the color of the pentagram and dragon on his chest. The base was carved/sculpted to look like a castle/dungeon floor. He's done to table top, as usual. Let me know what you think. Front: No back shot; it's a black robe. This is a slightly better shot of his base.
  4. This is an old mage knight figure; it's an 'Amazon Mancatcher'. I've got a couple more copies of this one that will all be converted eventually. She's armed with an absolutely ridiculous weapon; I cut that off and re-armed her with a trident from the bits box; I figured that with the net in her other hand, she'd make an interesting gladiator. The base is supposed to be sand, does it look alright? Table top paint job; let me know what you think, please.
  5. Whew! I finished some minis about 2 weeks ago. I've just been too busy to post them. I posted them on my blog, but didn't have the time to make a post here. The app for wordpress is a little easier to navigate that the one for the forums. For some reason my phone doesn't really like the reaper forums. Anyways, these guys are hilarious. They made me laugh. :) Check them out, C&C is always welcome.
  6. This is an old Ral Partha female mage. I think she may have been the low level version from one of their old 3 stage character sets, but I'm not certain. If so, she's the only one I have. Painted for table top. Please let me know what you think.
  7. 'Damn it all' said Rolf as trudged through the rancid sewer tunnel. Their patrol was almost over, and here he was investigating some noise that the sergeant had heard. He shouldn't have made that crack about the man's sister. He could still barely hear the others back at the junction talking while they waited for him. 'Damn it all' he said again softly. 'There's nothing here', he thought to himself, 'I'm going back.' Wait....what was that? An enormous hole gaped in the side of the sewer passage. He raised his lantern to get a better loo and found himself staring face to face with a rat. Except that this rat stood on legs, like a man. Suddenly, he felt a scabrous hand press over his mouth from behind as the things sword slid into his guts. ================================================================================================================= This is a figure that I got in a box with a bunch of other figures; it was severely damaged; someone had attacked it with clippers and half severed it's tail, face, and broken off the right arm. I initially used it practice working with green stuff, once it was repaired, I figured I'd throw some paint at it. This is what I managed to do in a little over 2 hours this afternoon.
  8. This is an old Grenadier figure I've had hanging around on my shelf of shame for ever. I don't know if I stopped liking the sculpt as mush as I did when I first got it, or my paint scheme was lousy, or what, but he's been about 75% painted for about 12 years. I pulled him down and decided to finish him up yesterday. I touched up a few things about his old paint job, finished him off and based him. It's only done to table top levels, but at least he's (finally) done.
  9. Here's the Bones ghost king I finished last night. He's done to a decent table-top standard (I hope). The base was kind of messed up, so I cut him off of it and mounted him on a resin base. It's 'cursed mountain' by ID Works, but I think they may be OOP now, since the website was closed down when I tried to google them. I got 10 of them for $3-4 all together from FRP games. I added a little bit of GS at the bottom of his robes so they overlapped the base (mostly near the skulls) and he didn't look like he was quite so 'flat'. Front: Back: Close up of base: I couldn't get a decent shot of his face, but imagine a hellish red glow radiating from his eyes. It is there, I promise. What do you think?
  10. Alright, I needed to prove to myself that I could finish a mini in one day again. So, this guy (and part of his other 2 partners) was done in about 4 hours. I am really excited about him, because I finally got to use my little mouse bones on the base! I got some owl pellets a couple of months ago to have lots of little bones for different basing stuff. It is supposed to show the purpose of the decomposers with the bones on one side, and the flowers on the other side. My hubs favorite part is the 'sun-bleached' cap. :) Let me know what y'all think! C&C is always welcome! ETA: mushroom man 2 of 3. More bones! Yay!
