This will be yet another Undead /Demon Army. ( what can I say? I love evil miniatures). This army has an Asian theme. Undead Samurai Oni Asian Dragons Some living Asian Allies. Kirin Hope you will enjoy it. I created a background story for it, it is on page 2. Have fun reading! I will paint slowly and it may take a while, but I'm putting this out here to start. Since I backed Zentih's Kensei Undead KS I have a few of the Undead Samurai and Demons waiting I also have the Grenadier Wind Dragon ( alas without the two humans) and the Grenadier Imperial Dragon of the Eleven Celestial Dynasties And some Living Samurai. Also a nice Asian Graveyard Set. Some stuff that has to get painted soon..

Finally painted him up! For some reason he did not appeal to me to paint, but once I got going I found it pleasing to bring to life!

So, here is the second Reaper Bones that I have painted to completion. The only other one was a Chibi Mummy which I thought was a fun figure. So I'm not going to lie, I'm not super fond of the Bones material, I much prefer metal, but Gene Van Horne did such a beautiful job on this sculpt, I really wanted to paint it. Also, as has been mentioned so many times with Bones, with a larger figure, the detail seems to come out a lot better than with small pieces. With this figure, there was so much detail in her armor, with the metal, and strings and such, afraid I probably didn't hit it all, but did what I could. So here she is, hope you enjoy!

Another Clan Wars mini I got from @Jasper_the_2nd for my Nippon, Land of the Rising Moon project. This time an ONI OGRE. WIP HERE: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79416-nippon-land-of-the-rising-moon-by-glitterwolf/ When asked for their allegiance the Oni joined forces with the murdered Toda Clan and the last survivors. Due to the family ties they swore to annihilate the Kenmu Clan for their foul deeds. In battle these Oni terrified the enemy, larger than men and wielding huge weapons they cut their way through the Kenmu ranks.

"Remember that just because I'm blue does not mean I'm made of water. All that squashing of adventurers into Tiny bits can definitely bring out one's thirst. That's why I drink Ogre-Aid(tm) from my shot glasses made from the skulls of my enemies! It slakes my thirst and restores electrolytes, but without all those nasty carbs. Do you think I got this ripped drinking colas?" :-)

So, last night, I had a particularly bad night at work. As I am trying to be more health concsious, I came home and sat at my desk. Instead of downing a 1/2 a bottle of bourbon, I opted to spend the next 2 1/2 hours painting this while trying to clear my head. It worked. He's not Reaper. He is an Oni from the Massive Darkness board game. I drew heavily from World of WarCraft on this one. For those of you that have played it, I felt the model greatly resembled a Troll. The paints are all Bones MSP, and some washes from GW. Overall, for a piece I just wanted to get done, I think he came out pretty well. I didn't even start him until after midnight, and I wrapped him around 2:45am or 3am. By that point I was exhausted, and wasn't really concerned with anything but finding my way to bed. CAH

Another set complete! This time it's a group of Eastern Fantasy themed adventurers and encounters. Almost all the minis are from the third Bones Kickstarter, with the exception of the Tengu/Kenku Monk armed with kamas. She's from Stonehaven. The group: The Oni: The Kitsune. The male is one of my favorites...I hadn't even noticed the sake glass in his hand until I started painting! That and his swagger make for a very characterful sculpt. Just some Human Monks: The Kenku/Tengu: This is the non-Reaper one, a Monk from Stonehaven Miniatures: Flock!

Ogre Mage Master Phthalo I picked up this guy a while ago. He's an actual lead miniature from the Reaper P-65 Heavy Metal line that was later discontinued. The Bones material is much cheaper and far easier cut and convert. Not long after I got him I based him on a cavalry length base to fit his stance and primed him with tan and did some basecoating using craft paints I had. I recently decided to pick him back up and put some effort into him. You can check out the WIP to see everything I did to get him here. Final Pics: Enjoy. I hope you enjoy him. Check him out in the Inspiration Gallery. (approved) Added to Thrym's Index of Reaper Miniatures & Thrym's General Show Off List

Swimming holes can be dangerous places in Rokugan. Ive always liked painting elementals, and rokugan has many. The Clan War elementals definitely have a more sinister feel which belie their wicked demonic nature. painting water always poses a challenge. I went with a more green algae pool look with this one, to help differentiate it from my other water elementals that have a bluer hue. It was a nice color palate to work with and I had a lot of fun painting the highlights.

Hia crew, I have had a longtime interest in the fantasy setting of Rokugan, and several years ago I began collecting and painting any minis I could that would populate that world on my game-table. I have hundreds (cough, thousands, cough) of minis from multiple MFGs that need to be painted for this project. these guys were completed a while ago, but serve as an excellent introduction to the horrors of Rokugan. The big guy is the proper "Elemental terror of earth" from the AEG Clan War game that takes place in Rokugan and I painted him almost exactly as portrayed in the box art. the little guys are lava elementals from Ral Partha's "Crucible" line. They come in two poses but were easily modded for more variety. I thought the models went very well together and would make an excellent encounter with minions and a boss. Since they are basically Lava elementals they are pretty cross purpose and mix well with other similar critters (such as smoke and fire elementals, for a volcanic adventure). Anyhow, they are very simple and speedy paint jobs but I immensely enjoy their cohesiveness. I have been chugging full steam on my Rokugan minis while on vacation, so Ill follow this post with some of my more recently completed minis for this setting. Since Long threads of show-offs are frowned upon Im not really sure how to present all of the minis in a way where I can highlight that they are all related and part of the same project. no biggie, though.

I've been trying to tick off some of those D&D Monster Manual entries, and painted up a bunch of large beasties. I kind of speed-painted these (spent a bit more time on the Oni), but am pretty happy with how they turned out. Feels good to produce stuff for the collection. The Brass Bull is from Reaper of course (the Bones variant), the four-armed ape is from Bombshell Miniatures, whilst the Iron Golem, Stone Elemental and Fire Elemental are all from Otherworld Miniatures and the Oni is from Zenit Miniatures. They're all really cool minis I think. Anyway, hope you like em!

Way back when Relic Knights was being Kickstarted, Sodapop miniatures introduced crossover characters for their already successful Super Dungeon Explore. I painted this guy up just a little while ago, but now, with the release of Ninja All Stars, I think he would fit nicely into a Ninja Themed Super Dungeon game. I went with a very controlled color pallet- keep a strong sense of light and dark among the purple, with a strongly contrasting NMM gold. I think the pallet worked well on him.

The recent arrival of the Half-Orcs of Stonehaven led to a burst of inspiration (also, the fact that it was my last week before a big chunk of overtime helped). So, I'm sharing my works so far. My camera seems to highlight all the things I missed...a few have been amended since then. First we have the menfolk of the crew. Aragorc is inspiring a new PC concept, for sure:

This was one of several old Ral Partha Shadowrun figures I painted recently. I liked this one because he was just bizarre. He's sold as a troll bouncer. He's clearly based on classic Japanese oni, so I painted him up like one. The paint is all matte; the effects on the back of the hair are paint, not shine. Other Shadowrunners painted at the same time include: Reaper's own Caine, Cyber-Troll, a Troll woman from Wolfram's Gang, a Wolfram's gang troll with tattoos, an ork woman street samurai, a cyber troll with reflective armor, and the unbelievably over-the-top Lord Torgo.
