  1. #1 A Chainmail orc from WotC circa early 2000s #2 Bones marsh troll - don't love the final result but it'll do for tabletop play #3 Bones ogre guard - experimenting with skin tones for DND #4 My FAVORITE Bones 4 figure that I identified from the Dreadmere expansion #421 - I call him the Undead Friar.
  2. The Stonehaven Half-Orc Kickstarter fulfilled recently. The figures were really inspiring, and I have a use for several of them already. I'm in a campaign in a steampunkish world with many different races. Anyhow, these are the four half-orcs I'm painting up for it: the Gentleman, the Librarian, the Artificer, and the Pistoleer (not sure if those are official names for them). I have glued them to their bases, primed them white, and washed over them with Burnt Umber. I've loosely shaded in their faces with a grey mixed from Burnt Sienna and Phthalo Green and white, but I haven't added any facial details yet. The gentleman would of course be wearing gloves, so I haven't painted his hands yet. The Pistoleer probably would too, but I felt like painting her hands anyway. The Artificer appears to have bare toes sticking out of his exo-suit, or whatever it is.
  3. This is the mini I painted a few months back. My first try at painting tattoos too :D I'm very happy how he turned out, I've used him as a boss in my dnd campaign and people loved him :D Next to a Mantic Greatax Orc :D Next to a heavily converted 03197: Thelgar Halfblood :D
  4. Okay, so I may never go back to painting 30 mm...! JK, but I did seriously enjoy painting this bust. It's my first, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. It's Joaquin Palacios' "Drogor" and it was also my first attempt at using the airbrush. I used it to do a shaded basecoat, and then brushed the rest using a combination of Vallejo, Master Series, and Golden acrylic paints. I wanted a strong directional light source, and I think I achieved it fairly well (comments and tips are much appreciated.) Given my 2D painting background, I use glazes pretty heavily, as you can probably tell. Anyone know of a domestic source for nice wood bases? I've ordered a few from Sockelmacher, but they will take sooo looong to get here. This is just a chunk of balsa I used to paint on and he needs something nicer. Happy painting! Laura
  5. Have painted this chap up for Rangers of Shadow Deep. Am using a mixture of orcs, half orcs, and gnolls for the "gnolls" in the game, mainly to reduce the lead pile. Really like the style of the armour in particular. It reminds me of the Angus Mcbride Lord of the Rings paintings. Am going to get the other 4 orcs so he has some mates.
  6. It's been a while but finally got my Orc Horde done from Heroquest!
  7. Howdy, What can I say, I was on a roll... Kev!
  8. Here is the last piece of the army: an orc boss to lead the horde. The model is called Grumlok and Gazbag, and I believe it's based on a Warhammer Online model. As an extra, there is also a new ogre tyrant. I picked up this guy to lead my combined horde of greenskins and ogres.
  9. Dark Heaven Legends Thelgar Halfblood 03197 converted using greenstuff and warhammer bits. Painted and used as a pc in my dnd campaign :D
  10. I am back!!! After 8 months of not touching my brush, I am a tad bit rusty. Hope you like my take on Varaug. C&c is always welcome!
  11. Hello again. I've finished painting two Orcs, mooks for the Big Bad Warlock of my campaign. I've never tried NMM before and it had interesting results on their weapon blades.
  12. I was using this to try a different skin color which I like and I believe I was going to do a bit more detailed TMM but got side tracked. After several months of no work on him, I decided to get him "done" to tabletop level. Here are some shaky iPad photos. C&C welcome.
  13. Finished at the last minute, another year in a row of Nurgly Orks for Orctober! These were printed from Duncan Shadow Louca's designs
  14. Here is the Grenadier Action Art “Super Orc Fighter.” Aside from the name being kind of funny, I also find it a bit ambiguous. He has very fancy antique armor. In my imagination he found the armor somewhere and put it on, and now he is the envy of the tribe. However, he prefers to use the same old rusty axe, which he doesn’t seem to know how to swing properly, and probably doesn’t realize that he is a wearing a vorpal sword at his belt.
  15. Continuing my paint up of all the bosses in the Forge of Fury, here is Kavorgh, painted up to be the Orc Wight Champion. My first time playing with a light box to get better pictures too :)
  16. Here are 8 of my 16 Bones orcs. I cut each figure off of their broccoli base and used my Basius basing pads to create custom bases. Additionally, I did some kit-bashing with plastic weapons from the Bones 3 Kickstarter. I swapped the two-handed sword from the Orc Berserker for an axe which I envisioned him taking from an elf or dwarf. For the Orc Hunter, I cut off his spear and swapped out a mace and dagger combo since I felt like he could pull off a rogue look. In my DND world, 90% of orcs are olive green skinned, and 10% are of a subrace known as Dreadnaught Orcs. This breed of orc has purple-hued skin tones due to magical enhancement by mages from a long-forgotten war. They're smarter, tougher, and have innate magical abilities. I went for a variety of skin tones to try and make them look more unique. Orc Stalker 77051 Orc Berserker 77059 Orc Marauder 77042 Orc Chopper 77431 Orc Slicer 77432 Orc Hunter 77045 Orc Sniper 77056 Kavorgh, Orc Warboss 77064
  17. Hi all, Long time lurker, first time poster. Here is my take on Greka, for use in my current run of Forge of Fury as Burdug the Shaman.
  18. A set of Orc Shamans recently released through Duncan Shadow's Patreon. All were printed on my Ender 3. My favorite of the batch, the, ahem, "Vomit Mage". The design was apparently inspired by the Warhammer Ogre Firebelly, who has always been a favorite of mine. This was my first print using clear filament: The most generic looking of the Shamans. The corrupted Warlock. I think I'll call him Dan.
  19. RAFM Hartha the Death Machine, Orc War Triceratops. A great vintage lead kit.. Of course it HAD to go into my Lost World Project. WIP here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/&page=105 Enjoy!
  20. Hello everyone! This mini is meant to be a major NPC in the DnD campaign I’m DMing. She’s one of the PC’s wife and was turned by the big bad guy.
  21. Orcs. My favorite thing to paint. How do I summit this to get on the website? anyone know?
  22. Starting a new figure, from AoW this time. Currently worked on the skin parts...and I could not skip the eye on this one haha Just for reference and info , I put the color used for this part ...( at least that will be a reminder for me what I used haha ). Skin : Mix of Vallejo model color olive green and lime green and Reaper Heather Blue. Nails and Teeth, Gum : Vallejo model color purple, Reaper Desert Sand and Bleached Linen Also a pass of Army Painter Dark Tone Wash to renforce a bit shadow.
  23. Finally , closing that project..was fun and learn quite a bit doing it.
  24. I am fairly new to painting; I started last fall, but I feel like I've made a good bit of progress in the ~3/4 of a year that I've been at it. I decided that I needed to finally bite the bullet and post a finished mini. This sculpt was perfect for the campaign that I'm DM'ing and it released on my birthday, so I decided he would be the first! Let me know what you think!
  25. Posting this guy here since it's finished. No fancy base for him since it will go on the vignette , so I will certainly once put in there add couple stuff on that tiny base but for now I just make it so it mostly match the rest of the vignette ground ( see orc wip ) Wip link : and the final pic ( played a bit to have other than white background xD )
