  1. Howdy, A bit of character... I like 'im, Kev!
  2. The weather is basically perfect, so I have been outside painting and writing D&D adventures while enjoying the sunshine! I got this bad dude finished a little bit ago and I am pretty proud of how he turned out. I will probably go back and touch a few things up later on, but right now I would appreciate any critiques and advice. Thanks in advance!
  3. Howdy, The best thing about Hero Quest... Grazie, Kev! P.S. Click, if you dare... P.P.S. @Sophie was taken, I have been brushing on Stynylrez, lately...
  4. I'm playing a half-orc warpriest in a Pathfinder game who uses a huge ol' axe. I figured this would be a pretty good mini for him. Base was made with GW Agrellan earth with some Vallejo pigments on it to give it some better color. I used rattlesnake leather as his base skin color, with a wash of dark elf shadow and highlighted with green ochre. I went with red hair, because why not? Reaper red hair triad.
  5. Howdy, Gotta have some ranged support... Click, Kev!
  6. Howdy, Every crew needs a leader... Click, Kev!
  7. Howdy, Reach can come in handy... Click, Kev!
  8. Howdy, Still working on models from the first Bones KS... Click 'em, Kev!
  9. Howdy, More 1st Bones KS goodness... Look close, Kev!
  10. Howdy, Still working on models from the 1st KS... Please click, Kev!
  11. Pretty cool mini. I painted him up as a half orc.
  12. I’ve loved Blood Bowl for a long time, and I was super happy to see Games Workshop bring it back (ok, some of us were playing the whole time, but it is still great to see their new minis and boards). Here’s a team that I got to do for a client. I’ve always favored the Bad Moons, so I was really happy that he wanted these guys in Bad Moon Yellow.
  13. While going through some old minis I came across this guy. I found him on a sidewalk while walking home from school in the early 90s. The etchings on his base are hard to decipher except 08 I'm rather curious as to who made him.
  14. Inox Brute, commission. First time basing with faux grass.
  15. While not really themed, all these minis were left over from my other projects. I think they'll all find a home in "Tesrora, the City That Can't Be Tamed", the fantasy ganglands campaign I'm working on for this year. Ametrine Earthlyte, Dwarf Alchemist. A recent Reaper 25th Anniversary miniature. A rude Dwarf Thug. I started on him to go with RPE's "Dwarf Veterans Warband" as a thug. Converted from the Avatars of War Berserkers, Mantic Dwarf Bear-thing riders, and an old Mordheim club. I realize I couldn't directly post most of the shots of the Orc Matron per forum rules, so linked to my FB shots instead. 16. Here's an effort I made at painting this orc. I've only been painting three weeks so I am open to help/comments. I added some Welsh slate to the base. Took some inspiration from an artist called slashhamster. Thanks
  17. So...this is 1/4 for the FebRPChallenge. I just have quick and dirty cell phone pics for now, until I get my lightbox set up. I painted this with following the schematic outlined in the LTPK.
  18. Finished this up late last night. Probably my favorite fig I've painted to date. There are a ton of little details all over, but since the fig is bigger than average, it was pretty easy to paint. I went with a green skin tone because my next planned adventure features a large mutant orc, so this fig worked perfectly for the brute. Critiques and advice are always welcome! Thank you!
  19. This is the first metal fig that I have painted, just finished him up over my lunch break! I wasn't planning on doing a "Hulk" theme, I was just messing around with colors that I liked and wound up with the green and purple. It ended up looking pretty sharp so I kept It! I couldn't find my earthshade wash, so I went with sepia. I might go back a redo it some day, but for now I'll keep it. Sorry about all of the background noise in the pic, I was in a bit of a rush but still wanted to share. Critiques and advice are always appreciated! Thanks!
  20. Grenadier Orcs I found these two at a flea market recently. I got my first pair and painted them about 1982 when I was 10 years old. Take my word, I did a better job this time.
  21. Painted this guy up for an upcoming campaign. The party should get terrified by a large group of orcs and trolls. If they do any scouting they will be able to discover that the whole group is blind, but still pretty effective a fight. The real trick will be if they do enough exploring during the adventure, they'll actually come across a powerful devil that is bargaining for major power, for the minor cost of one of their senses. The eye marking on the shield signifies the cost of sight. The party will be able to barter their senses, or fight the devil. The fig originally had a bunch of gloves and spikes coming out of the shield that I wasn't a huge fan of, so I snipped them off with a nail clipper. If I could do it over, I would have used something to smooth it out a little more before I started painting. I'm also not overly pleased with the gold colored boots, so I may go over them some day with a different paint. Overall, pretty pleased with how it turned out though. Of course, I appreciate any critiques and advice! Thanks!
  22. Goblin Agent 1 Goblin Agent 2 Dwarf Agent 1 Dwarf Agent 2 Orc Agent 1 Orc Agent 2 WIP: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/76692-massive-darkness-agents/
  23. Just a quick paint up of a group of orcs for an upcoming game.
  24. Having finished up my historical Dragoon, I decided to switch gears work on a fantasy project. A while back I'd agreed to help out with the Ouroborus Tales Kickstarter and provide a 'painting journal' describing how I went about painting one of the orcs from that project. The figures arrived a few weeks ago, so I wanted to make sure that was up next on my to-paint list. The official painting journal is only for the project backers, but I can still share work in progress and info online. But the painting journal will have more detailed step by step photos and a more in-depth discussion (sorry, gotta save some secrets for that! =P). Because I like to get the most out of this project, I'm also planning to enter the piece into the 'Eavier Metal painting competition over on their facebook group. For anyone not familiar with the sculpt, here's what the orc brave looks like: It's a nice sculpt, roughly 54mm scale (though smaller than the Black Sailors figures which look closer to 75mm). The title makes me think native american, but there aren't any overtly native american features (features, headdress, etc). The weapons and clothing are primitive so I'm leaning more towards the savage orcs from the warhammer fluff. There's a lot of skin on this guy (no armor covering it up), so I wanted to do something with the green to keep it interesting. I decided to go with a two-tone skin. So green on the back/sides and an off white on the belly. Helps convey a more primitive animalistic look to him. I'm also going to work in more color variation in select spots. Still at a very early stage. I've base coated a lot of the piece and sketched in the shadows on the body. My main focus has been the face, where I've done the green portions and details like the eyes, nose, and lips. I still need to do the teeth, inside of the ears, white on the bottom of the jaw, and add some glazes. But, this gives you an idea where it's going. I'm taking the skin one section at a time, so after this I'll probably try to tackle that left arm and then move on to other parts of the body. I'm enjoying the piece so far, but still have lots to do!
  25. 2nd Mini to be finished from the LTP core skills. I'm really happy with how he turned out. also think I learned a lot more with him then the skeleton archer, although I did kind of skip ahead and tried some things with those skeleton guardians I painted but this guy solidified those skills I think.
