Hi all! How do you do? My latest painted character: This sorceress lady will be used someday in the future for games of Frostgrave. Here she is with the rest of her warband:

I base coated this guy (Otherworld Shadow 1 of 2) in Reaper Nightmare Black (a gorgeous blue-black) and drybrush highlighted with a 50/50 mix of Oceanic Blue and Pure White. I think he looks done! Thoughts? Too heavy on the dry brush? I plan to use some Vallejo Ground Texture on the base. Happy to hear comments and criticism.

Love these guys, I may have to buy the other versions Otherworld has of their cultists. I love how all of their models look the way I envision D&D.

I'm pretty excited about finishing this guy. Stone giant (HT8c) from Otherworld Miniatures. I used Badger's gray airbrush primer, Reaper 09086 Stone Grey and 09087 Weathered Stone 09476 Woodland Brown, Army Painter Dark Tone wash. Comments are welcome!

This is Otherworld Miniatures Barrow Guardian II (model: DM30b). Painted with the Reaper stone triad, and the dark Army Painter Quickshade. Vallejo earth stuff on the base. I am still pretty new to painting, and clearly am too heavy with the drybrush highlighting. Still think he looks pretty cool though. Feedback is welcome!

My first show off thread! Not because I am prouder of these than anything else, more that these were close to hand when I considered taking photos and keeping more of a visual record of my mini painting adventures. OH's dad and partner got me these, amongst other, Otherworld Miniatures for Christmas and I thought these were really fun sculpts! I did these in one evening (and maybe another half hour the next day), and I'm happy with their table-top level quality. I used aquarium plant on the bases and I'm thinking I may go back and paint over that as it is quite bold- but for now I consider these done! Unfortunately I can't foresee these swamp-dwellers making an appearance in my City dwelling d&d campaign, but you never know!

I finally finished this gang of porkers! It's been 3 years since I finished the first hog. I fell in love with these piglets, it's nearly the complete series. I'm missing three I believe. The standard bearer was my first (pitiful) attempt at freehanding. It turned out a little GW-ish, but what are you going to do... Most of the models were fantastic. A couple had some casting issues. Mangled mouths were disappointing, but I think I fudged them back to life half decently. It feels good to finally have them finished. Once I recover financially from Bones IV (Thanks Reaper!!) I'll have a hard look at both the hobgoblins and kobolds that Otherworld offers. I hope you like the ol' school look!

While I was working on the combat diver diorama - Please check here: -> Let's make a present! Combat divers on the beach<- my boss approached me with another present. Another colleague would leave us soon, so I had to prepare a third present. Errr. Okay. I am doing it because I can and because it is fun. Well then - Let's go. I knew this: Our colleague was playing football from time to time. Wow. Well I guess that's what it's like when you keep all your information to yourself. I guess I should do that more often. In conclusion - I had no idea what to do. So my boss thought of the following: A giant owl that carries an anchor. I checked the internet for a fitting miniature and by accident found a human coach figure for Guildball tabletop. It didn't look exactly like him, but the hair was georgous. So I bought it. Then I stumbled upon a giant owl and bought it, too. Now I had both figures and started to make some plans. But I didn't like it. Way too high, way too small, height difference too big. No. That's not what I wanted to create. I 've gotta think of something else. Actually, that's quite demotivating ...

When my first present - please check here ->Let's present a ... present! Owl Mage<- was received pretty well by our female colleage, my boss asked me to do more. This time the task was to make a present for another colleague who left us. As he was in the military and also is a passionate diver, I thought of something military. What would be a better fit than German combat divers (Kampfschwimmer)? Luckily I found a bunch of German frogmen miniatures and ordered them immediately. When I told my boss what I had in mind, she asked me to include the following elements: 1st: Frogmen 2nd: An owl (of course) 3rd: an exit 4th: a sign that links the colleague to our work. Everything else was free for me to develop. As Frogmen often use beaches to infiltrate or exfiltrate an area, the overall idea was to create a beach setting. So I went down to the beach, spent some hours there swimming, enjoying the sun and making sketches, until I finally had an idea what I wanted the diorama to be like. The owl should be sitting on a sign that warned of mines - but instead of a mines warning there should be an inside joke written on the board we often did at work. The exit should be between two dunes and be marked by another sign. And the Kampfschwimmer unit should be astonished by what they witnessed. So I started painting the combat divers. After that I assembled the owl, used plastic styrene to cut out two signs, assembled them an started painting. Still I had one problem - the showcase I ordered ... *chuckles* didn't show up. That sounds funny at the moment but should be a problem later on. And as I was doing a second diorama at the same time, the pressure increased ... *Insert creepy music here*

Lich with Wand by Otherworld Miniatures. The more I look at this guy, the more it seems like he is trying to fence with that wand. "En Garde!"

These are Giant Ant Soldiers from Otherworld Miniatures. I made a scenic base with Milliput and used the Greenworld Stuff Aztec Rolling Pin on it. Then added a Lizardman Skull from Ristul's Extraordinary Market. Pretty Kool Kobold Kommand. I had fun painting these.

I thought it might be best to consolidate my ongoing Red Ghoul efforts under one roof. The previously completed miniatures are pictured above (from Reaper, Otherworld, and Fractured Dimensions). Another hobo bugbear who can't afford pants. I'm sure he could trade in those shiny bracelets for a whole wardrobe but I guess he doesn't give a crap. Next up on my Otherworld tour: gnolls.
