lstormhammer? Where've you been? In a bottle, not one filled with paint. (I'm better, now) So yeah, it's Stern, painted as a Paladin, on a quckie ice base. I'm pretty happy with it. Cold start to snapped pics in about 2 hours. I did some NMM effects on the plate armor, used AP Speed Paint and then drybrushed a warm white for the glowing gold sword, then cheaped out and threw some gold metallics on the sword itself. The base is some odds and ends attached to a Wizkids base, Stern got a pin in his ankle to secure him into the rocks he's standing on, then everything got some Vallejo matte varnish to finish. C+C is always accepted, I'm trying to go through my absolutely Herculean amount of backlogged plastic miniatures, so hopefully we'll see more of this. Oh, and let's not forget to tag his namesake in, @Stern Kestrelmann

How do you make an octopus laugh? You give him ten tickles! Wanted to show off this little octopus that I sculpted from some leftover green stuff. I don't have much experience with sculpting other than a few simple embellishments on minis and a couple of snake swarms I made once. Wanted to try something relatively simple and figured an octopus would be pretty forgiving. You can see more about how I made this guy and more of my nautical minis in my Dark Tide WIP thread HERE. I sculpted and painted this guy in two evenings and am happy with hos cute it turned out. It's not the most accurate, but I'm proud of it. It definitely has given me greater confidence in my ability to make something out of nothing. More Photos Beneath the Spoiler:

It's resin and comes either painted or unpainted. Some of the stuff here is generic, but it's worth a look.

Crawling back from the dead here with this fun little handful of zombies! Added some gravestones to a few of them using popsicle sticks. Just good ole' classic grave crawling zombies. Went for a dusty color palette. Which one do you think turned out best?

Pathfinder Red Dragon #60028 is a hefty beastie and I definitely did not paint him red. Instead I tried a rainbow piece for Pride 2020 (finished 8/1/2020). Also my first painted model posted here. Pardon my photography skills. I used cut up Caryatid column #77378 for a bit of terrain on the base. My biggest metal model to date.

Painted my Roc for the campaign I'm in. There we have befriended a Phoenix and it is going to help us fight the BBEG. Putting images in spoiler tag, since picture heavy.... Base still needs some more work. Edit: painted this one at the same time as Blacksting

If you paint one mini, it is best to paint another one at the same time since you can apply techniques you've just picked up and stuff like that.... Also it gives you some other details to stare at when painting... I've painted my Blacksting Wyvern at the same time as my Roc.

Recently getting back into miniature painting, and decided to start off with a few bones pieces. Ordered this lip fella from Reaper and decided to knock him out around Halloween. Going to put a sealant coat over it and add spot gloss on the blood effects, for now it's all painted highlights. Any suggestions or advice always welcome. JG

I wasn't sure what the GM was going to run last night, so I just grabbed everything I painted last year. Sorry for the bad phone photos. In the scenario, 5 of us return from a weekend camping trip to find the base invaded. The pink rectangles represent helicopters. We cleared the table with hand weapons and judicious use of twerking. :D

I was asked to make a custom Water bending miniature for a customer of mine who is running a Marvel Superhero game at out local Gaming club. I used the Reaper Bones Water Weird (77310) and the Drowned Spirit (03727) to create a custom kit bashed miniature. The players favorite color is Blue so I was asked to fit as many shades of the color into the model as possible. If you have any questions on how I made this feel free to ask here or on my FB page. (facebook.com/TabletopGlory) I have many more that I will be doing for his campaign one of witch will be made from the Virina, Female Demon (03084) where ill be hand painting cloths onto the miniature. (I'll be making a small video to explain all the modifications for this one.)

I was totally impressed by the Impudent Mortal Kickstarter, but seeing as the buildings on offer didn't appeal as much as older stock they had I ordered directly (and boy was it FAST). Because I wanted to get an idea of what I was doing before I tried building my fancy new things, I took advantage of a FLGS gift card to buy a Knight Models SWAT truck for the Batman game. Here are some product pics behind the spoiler The truck/van is mostly done except for touch-ups and sealing... but I'll still be posting process pics that I took along the way. I mistakenly thought it would be faster than a miniature (and I guess it was at my current pace)... but not really. The other ones I'll be posting as I go (I'm planning on using fancy Japanese paper offcuts as wallpaper, so it'll probably be slow).

I wasn't sure where to post this, since I didn't make these. This seemed the best place, though. Found these at Joann a few weeks back. Took the pics, then got so busy with my latest convention I didn't get to posting until now. These are those sorts of porcelain (or plaster or whatever they are) curios people put on their shelves. Many (not pictured) are not to scale for our uses, but the ones in the pics are pretty close, if you like the doughy, comical, fairy look of lawn gnome stuff. The larger pieces are a bit pricey, though. The smaller bits are affordable and probably the better buy, as they are closest to scale. Not pictured are some trees, hedges, and a few other maybe useable bits. I personally would not go this route, but I thought there might be a few people who might be interested.

This is a model I painted for someone as an anonymous gift. It should have gotten to him today, but I'll leave his forum name off just in case. This model was a lot of fun to paint and I only learned later that my model's armor and the painted version on Reaper's website (you know what I mean :)) both have purple armor. This is only the second time I've painted dark elf skin and its quite challenging for me as I often struggle to have good looking smooth skin tones on human models in general. If I hadn't given myself a hardstop time limit, I would have gone back and tried to shade and highlight the yellow on the armor. I don't think its garish, thanks to the blue cloak, but it could look better IMO. I'm extremely pleased with the blending of her ice crystal weapon "blades". I wasn't sure I could pull it off, but I think it turned out really nice, although the eye isn't immediately drawn to it. Please feel free to give any and all feedback, but I'm really keen to hear if folks think I should have gone with a darker yellow or another color entirely. Is there something I could have done better with the basing? The person I painted this for likes an online comic called Drowtales, which I also happen to like, though I'd not read it in at least two years due to losing all my links when my old computer died. But I went through the comic and found some armor and cloaks that I liked and tried to work them into model itself. Painted up 6 more minis from the Bones 2 kickstarter. The bulette is my first official huge! Bases made from green stuff, pumice gel, and happy seppuku stamps.

I've barely made a dent in my Bones 2. This makes 20 out of the lot complete when I add the mummies and ghouls I finished earlier this year. At the very least I'll have painting projects for the next year or three! I worked on this batch over the course of 4 Pathfinder sessions. :) It's fun to paint while roleplaying!

Well, I ended up buying a few pewter miniatures to test paints on before painting up a metal tree for a particular Bones dragon, just to make sure I don't accidentally screw it up. So here are my first two metal minis and I think they turned out well. This is the Hawkman, friend of mine suggested that I should paint him up like a raven and thought "Oh hey, that's a cool idea" then half way through I was like "WHY DO I KEEP FORGETTING HOW HARD BLACKS ARE TO PAINT". Though it was a learning experience that helped me practice a few things. I even added a tiny bit of silver to a separate plot of black paint for the beak so I could get that shiny look on it. Also getting the hang of painting capes and getting the nice lighting effect on them with lightly thinned down paints. This was the Opposum Druid that I had to get after seeing her. She normally has three kids, I might paint up the other two but for now I prefer her like this with her one kid swinging about on that staff. I based the colors off of a possum character off of a webcomic because I liked the comic and I'm not terribly creative when coming up with color schemes.

Hi all I am from the Uk and wanted to show what i've been up to. I have been collecting and painting figures for a few years now but until recently had'nt painted any of the Reaper figures. However that has changed and hopefully you will enjoy my work. I am happy to receive hints and tips as I find that helps with the next figure. This is still a WIP from the Bones series, what do you guys think of the white armour? Heres the finished Bones that are now awaiting a dungeon to crawl through...

This is actually my second paint job for the Bones 2 line but the other two are still WIP until I can finish bases and all that. So I give you my first fully completed Bones II, the Burrowing Horror! I used quite a few paints in this and I don't remember them all but basically: Tanned Leather (Base) Black wash Dirty Bone Yellowed Bone Bathalian Chitin Oiled Leather (Brown highlights around the bone plates) Sun yellow (additional highlights and eyes) Blazing Orange (eyes) Maggot white (teeth) A different leather on the belly, I can't remember the name!) Devlan Mud wash for the final wash I may still attach some sand or grass between the bone plates but I'm not sure yet.

I wasn't too sure where to put these, so I'll put them here. These two aren't the best photographs, just the best I can do now. There are 35 Miniatures in the case. I have painted over 100 mini's this year, so I am happy with about 25 percent of my output now, I am sure that I will not be happy with some of these by next year. So here are two photos of my wall display case. Lets make 2015 our best year of painting !

Hey guys, I have a question that I could not find on the forums, but maybe I didn't search well enough but here goes nothing. Is it legal for someone to buy a miniature from Reaper, paint the miniature, and then resell it? I mainly want to know about whether it is illegal for me to do so (I would be selling them on a site like Etsy, etc.) If it is, what would I have to do to go about it being legal? If there is a thread already describing this in detail, directing me to that post would be all I need. Thanks in advance.
