I started these guys in mid-January thinking that I might get them knocked out in a weekend or so. Two months later, and here we are... These are officially labeled as gargoyles in the set that they came in, but I thought they'd be much cooler as old-school demons. I added the underwear and loincloths (before that, they were totally unclothed except for the bracers on their wrists - looked weird). One bonus to this color scheme is that it's pretty close to the Minions of Utgar squad in Heroscape. So, if I ever want to field an extra squad, I can use these guys as stand-ins now.
I got this guy in one of those bulk figure lots off of Amazon. The company who (apparently) prints and sells them is called Path Miniatures, but it sounds like the original sculptor is MZ4250. His design is everything you'd want in a basic ogre. I particularly like the head sculpt. If you're going to paint one of these guys, be aware that it takes A LOT of prep. The original model has a ton of unsightly polygon texture on the skin. I basically took him all apart, (the arms are separate pieces and the head/torso comes off of the legs), sanded him down thoroughly, then put him back together. The only thing I'm not happy about is the club. I made it grayish-brown so that it would look like it's made of stone. The effect is okay, but it's just too much gray when it's next to the figure's skin. Anyway, enough words...any feedback is welcome.
