  1. It has been a year and a half since I painted. I have lined a few bone minis and this is the first of my practice pieces. I spent 2 hours on the cloak. Not happy with it, but I want to move on to the other parts. Brown liner to "prime" the bones figure. Then 9418 thru 9420 triad for the cloak. Oceanic Blue Tropical Blue Glacier Blue
  2. I purchased the Shadow Hound in Kentucky and was painting bits of it while in the hotel. The initial plan for the mini was to paint half of it and leave the other half translucent. Now that I have a base coat and some colors on it, I'm not too sure. Perhaps if it was clear translucent instead of purple it could work? Please let me know your thoughts.
  3. C&C and advice always welcome. Started working on this awesome tiefling/demon. Cleaned off mold lines, except the one on his outstretched arm and hand. The file wouldn't cooperate. Working on his face/head and just wanted to show some pictures. Yesterday, I was frustrated with the mouth, still am. Paints I used for the skin: 29843: HD Solid Black 09427: Nut Brown 09401: Dragon Red 09404: Cinnamon Red Did this in layers Shadow = Solid Black : Nut Brown (1:3) Nutbrown Nutbrown : Dragon Red (1:1) Dragon Red Dragon Red : Cinnamon Red (1:1) Cinnamon Red Spent 4 hours on the skin and face. I'm happy with where he's going at the moment. Tiefling art online for clothes has been rather uninspiring. So many browns, muted tones, or drab colors.
  4. Hello all. I failed to keep up with the WIP due to rushing to completion. This was my Reaper entry and he received a solid bronze. I'm quite proud of two parts of the figure: 1) The freehand tattoo on his back, it was my first attempt at freehand. ^.^ 2) The water portion of the plinth because I borrowed two blue's from @Mr Melons (thanks!) and set about mixing and painting on the plinth with a completion time of under 10 minutes. ^.^ I will summarize to the best of my abilities, the information I have garnered from judges and several artists I have spoken with. For now, I present Stieg. He was a wonderful figure to paint and very fun. Summary behind the spoiler:
  5. Was attempting tattoos and didn't like the mess I made. I started over by dunking in simple green (regretting that decision). Attempt #2! I should document my progress, this should help push me. Using grey primer because I can't find my white primer. 09299: MSP Core Colors: Grey Primer
  6. Hello everybody! The last WIP I attempted is on hiatus due to um...losing the figure while packing away things to clean the carpet. Dragon selected: Krupixis (spelling) Challenge level: * * * Paints Primary: Palomino Gold Secondary: Olive Green Tertiary: Blush Pink Extras: Pure White and Pure Black "Let's rock this joint!"
  7. It has been a while since I have painted a miniature. I did not afford myself the time and energy because of issues (family, work, life, etc). Why did I want to grow up again? I made up excuses and reasons and I'm just sick and tired of that BS. Excuses and lying to myself will not allow me to succeed in life and I'm beginning to find my balance again. Oops, beginning to ramble, so here's the model I'm going to be working on: Several firsts for this guy: 1) Never painted a resin figure 2) Never painted a multi-part figure
  8. A merry level up day to our favorite jetpack platypus!
