For your consideration I present Sir Vigintor, d20. This particular highroller was painted pink for a pink challenge issued by a Twitch streamer that I follow. In addition to the model being painted every entrant was required to also provide the backstory and here is mine. Sir Vigintor began his life as Vinny in the city of Baldur’s Gate as the son of a local bartender. His father had a bad gambling problem and was in debt to the Chance Thieves Guild and couldn’t provide for Vinny. So the Thieves Guild took the boy in as payment with a promise to care for him and train him so long as the father kept paying them and allowed the Guild to use his bar to store items from time to time. Vinny was never treated as a slave or made to think any less of his father. He was trained as a fighter who eventually served as muscle for the Guild. One day he was sent to collect payment from a business owner that had fallen behind on their debt. He was told to collect gold or their body. When he received his assignment he realized it was his own father he was sent to “collect” and refused. The Guild Master Grix understood the boys plight and offered him a roll of his dice. If the boy won he would be free to leave the Guild and his father would be free of their debt. If he lost the roll he would forfeit his life and his fathers life. Grix allowed the boy to take the first roll and upon grabbing the 20 sided die, Vinny passed out as the world went black. When Vinny woke up he found himself in the dungeon of the Guild and his body had been horrifically transformed into that of a giant Pink 20 sided dice! Grix approached the cell and started to mock Vinny. He explained that no one ever leaves the Guild and his father had been executed and his bar burned to the ground. Vinny felt a rage well up inside him to a level that he had no control over, he tumbled across the cell floor with blinding speed and reached through the bars and grabbed Grix by the neck with such force that his neck snapped. The force of the impact against the cell door had also broken it free of his hinge and Vinny managed to grab a sword and shield and sneak his way out of the Guild and into the night. Vinny changed his name to Vigintor spent the next few years helping people where he could while adventuring and gained the favor of a the Lords of Waterdeep. He was knighted and given the title of Sir Vigintor and has been a protector of the realm for many years.

I'm working on Cassie the Gnome Sorceress (bones version) and she's coming along okay, but... Not quite where I want her. See, this image from the store is what I'm going for. And this is where I'm at now. There's a bit of a gap between these two... Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? Please be brutal.

I wanted to share this since I did not find many of these already painted when looking for reference photos, maybe it can help someone else! I went super bold with this guy, as I tend to do lol! The pictures don't really show how gross those pustules are though lol! They have a bit of nurgle's rot on them as well. The basing was done with mostly natural elements! A real lichen laden stick, seed pods, fern leaves, along with some Army Painter Battlefields Grass Green and Battlefield Rocks, as well as some basic clump foliage for filler! Does anyone like to use natural materials for basing!? C&C welcome! Thanks for looking!

These are the "Vampire Brides" from Bad Squiddo Games, which last summer came out with a line of Hammer-type horror figures called "My Last Sunrise." They are sculpted by Gus Kearns and were introduced with the tag line "Get married, they said. Best day of your life, they said." WIP thread here.

Had a discussion aa little while back at the FLGS's paint night about color theory and how wolves don't have to be brown or grey, they can be blue or PINK & PURPLE! So I decided to make an example and paint one of the Bones 77009: Werewolfs For added difficulty I did the entire mini in 1.5 hours, I used the package he came in as my palette and a $1 Size 4 Flat brush. The Punk Rock Pink didn't come out quite as bright as I wanted but I still like it. The claws were abysmal. Even if I had spent time cleaning up mold lines etc I think they would have been ugly. There was a spot of fur on the left leg that lost it's detail too. Would do the base darker if I did it again.

I felt like painting pink and trying to line in brown, instead of my usual black, so the discontinued Juliette became my test subject. I think I prefer lining with black The right side of Juliette's face is quite a mess, both her hands have issues, and there were several other rough spots on the model. But rejoice, Reaper are making new molds, so I am thinking an improved Bones Juliette will be re-released sometime.

Here's my fourth miniature of February (for the revolutionary painting challenge). One of the challenges was to paint something Valentine's Day themed. I'm a little less creative than some folks who've already posted, but I plucked one of my Bones strumpets up and decided to paint her in a nice V-Day pink color. She was fun to paint. I used the blood triad for the darker shades and then the punk rock pink and the breast cancer pink colors for her pink highlights. Something a little funky happening with the sculpt on her arm but maybe I should've cleaned up better prior, but I'm okay with how it turned out. C&C welcome!

I painted the Bones version of Elquin as part of the Secret Sophie 2014 miniature exchange for Leopardpixie. She says that her favorite colors are pink and black, so they were the starting point for this miniature. I started by airbrushing RMS Cactus Flower, which was eye-wateringly bright. The final result is less so, but let that be a warning to anyone trying to use this color. I had decided to make his jacket black, but realized there's some complex relationship between his jacket and cloak - it actually kind of looks like it's all one garment. I did my best to find good points of separation. The skin is the RMS Olive Triad. I'm consciously trying to paint miniatures with diverse skin tones, and just because he's an elf, he doesn't get a pass. I am very proud of his eyes (though I forgot eyebrows again!). It was nice to work on a heroically proportioned miniature, as I've been painting lots of miniatures with realistically sized eyes recently. I don't have the control to do full dks eyes on a Hasslefree or Darksword miniature. The scrolls lost nearly all their detail in the transition to Bones, unfortunately. I tried to figure out what they were an eventually decided on scrolls - I checked the metal figure and concept art just now, and that is in fact what they are supposed to be. I also have a feeling that he gets a lot of crap about the color of his cloak from fellow adventurers. "Shut up guys! It's lightish red" or "Who cares what it looks like, it gives me a +3 to all my saves!"

This is one of several old Ral Partha (now Iron Wind Metals) Shadowrun sculpts I've painted recently. She is one of three cybertroll figures in the set 20-563, "Wolfram's Gang". I deliberately painted her up in some of the colors of 'eighties fashions. I painted other cyber-trolls at the same time: Reaper's 50287: Caine, Cyber-Troll, Ral Partha's Lord Torgo, another member of "Wolfram's Gang" who I painted up all tattooed, an Oni bouncer, a cyber-troll in reflective armor, and an ork woman street samurai. The WIP thread for all of them and several more is here.

Here is my Starfire the dragon. I went with pink, and felt that I needed to paint up the wings to herald back to his namesake.

Here's my take on the eyebeast. Did most of it tonight so I could enter it over on caffeineforge.com, anything to help me paint more :P The original plan was making it a whole lot more pink, think Krang. Buuuut.. It's Bones, it's quick, it's done. Happy with the coloration on the central eye though. EDIT: Does this board have a limit on image resolution or something, because it resized it :> Testing: Plus I tried my "light box" for the first time, so any critiques on that part of it is welcome. It's just an unmodded slightly see-through fabric box from Ikea. With LED flashlights.
