So.... Last Decemeber while I was Xmas shopping for the pets, I ran across an AKC chew toy platypus... And, Being me, I knew that it was a DrowcedentTM in the making.... So my daughter Alsnia, knitted the scarf, we mad the hat from blue insulation foam and putty, and I did the monocle from a split ring for keys, a piece of jewelry chain, and some blister plastic. I sewed everything in place, (Be careful of the stitching!!!! as I am out of practice...) and hot glued the hat on... And it was delivered today, and I just got a pm from pcktlnt, so I can show him

Duck into Platypus, Team Frog Critter Commando CFE7642
knarthex posted a topic in Show Off: Painting
So as some of you may know, I have been busy converting a Team Frog Duck into a certain Jet packing, Glitter Happy Monotreme... and I have finally finished him... So I give you..... (well you know who it is....!) He was a lot of fun to do, stretched my sculpting skills and ingenuity a bit, but I am pretty happy with the results. Thanks for looking! George WiP here- 21 replies

***Since I don't have enough projects going already....**** So this figure showed up in the BOGW, and I flashed back to Casket Works #13 where Reaper had Team Frog stuff in the catalog... (Really bad scan....) I don't really do anthropomorphic minis, but I saw the inner platypus screaming to get out, so.... Drilled a couple of holes in his bottom, and put a piece of paper clip into them as an armature for the new tail: Then added some greenstuff, Thinking that once that hardens, I can work from there to try to do some fur lines.... Any Ideas on how to ma

So, I'm working on my sculpting and have lots of little projects I'm doing. Therefore, it seemed to make more sense to just do a running journal of my work rather than individual posts on each piece as I go. Please feel free to offer any input, advice, constructive criticism, or praise. The first piece I'm showing is an inquisitor gal I did for a character I use when my daughter practices GMing Pathfinder games. I went with a corset around the cliché inquisitor robe as I wanted her to have some of the expected look, but with her own twist on it. I also went with a skirt under the coat t

I painted this little guy up as an exchange figure for pcktlnt for the Secret Sophie 2014 exchange. I had a platypus, I knew pcktlnt loves platypuses (platypi? platypodes?), it seemed like a no-brainer. I wish I would have given myself time to do the potion bottle properly; I did watch/read a couple of tutorials on the subject, but the colored part kept creeping closer and closer to the top of the bottle as I tried to make the line straight, until eventually I just decided to make the whole bottle orange and be done with it. I'm quite happy with how the fur turned out, though, a

So I'm painting up my little reward for helping my FLGS move. Everytime i see him, i'll remember those fun times helping them sort and shelve boardgames, card games, and my own personal project of arranging all the Reaper minis by number. [would you believe no one else wanted that job and they were happy to have a volunteer to do it?!] Anyway, he's been primed, dark washed, and dark lined. Sadly I won't be able to base him. At least not yet...i think he requires a 60mm to fit his whole tail in. He's a bit wobbly on his feet but I only have 2 SW 60mm and neither are suitable for him lol, s
