  1. My Repaints for the DDM Guild's Community Draft Prize Table! Enjoy:) A Shadar-Kai Warrior. A Gold Dragon Wyrmling! The Astral Giant! The Orc Skeleton! GF
  2. So I'm going to be repainting some D&D Minis for the DDM Guild's Prize support at GenCon 2018. Just really got started last night, but progress is progress. Sorry about the crappy phone picture. So, I'm gonna be keeping track of my progress here. My deadline is the first full weekend of July, the 8th or so. As I'll need to mail them to someone who is actually attending:( GF
  3. Finally I'm done! Had started this earlier this year, but got a bit delayed by the Sir Forscale competition. I blame/thank ReaperBryan for getting me involved in it, it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot about what I was able to do. After that was the busy Hallowe'en season, and since then there's been some personal issues preventing me. But I managed to buckle down and got it done, so I'm happy with that. WIP here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69726-it-caaaaame-from-the-ddm-pit-harbinger-set-skeleton-pic-heavy/ So here it is, paired with one of the original miniatures to show the contrast: Sorry for the brightness of the pictures. All in all, I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome. While I wish I had more time and patience to work on the bones themselves, I just wanted it done. I learned a lot through the experiments I put this one through, and on the last day I even started using a homemade wet palette. Quite pleased with it, I'll be using it a lot more. When I saw the dynamic pose of the skeleton I thought it was too good not to use it in some way, hence the stepping over the log. Not sure if I'll start on another DDM miniature that I have ready, or start on some of my Bones backlog. Time will tell, I suppose. Hope you enjoy it all!
  4. It's me again! After my semi-successful bout with the DDM Baaz Draconian, I decided to pick out another victim subject to experiment some more techniques and paints on. Aaaand let's see what's behind Door Number Two!: What we have here are two DDM Harbinger set Skeletons. The one on the left is for reference, while the one on the right has already been primed. Not a bad lot for what it was used for, but they completely missed the paint on the face of the latter one. Though they're interesting figures, for skeletons they look a bit too.......shiny. Sure, they could be newly stripped corpses, but what's the likelihood of that? And why would you keep perfectly good armour on such easily destroyed mooks? Let's see if we can make him look as neglected as those miniatures on your Shelf of Shame!
  5. Being a big fan of prepainted plastics, I have not got a lot of painted stuff for Show Off, but I've got some techniques, weapon swaps and basing ideas to share. There will be a lot of these as I've got a small hoard of Dreamblade, clix, WoW and assorted action figures that could use a round base. Bobby pin blade swap, a Future floor finish water effect, twine as grass experiment and coffee grounds with static grass basing.
  6. So I've been looking for a good sealer for a while and while I've found one I'm happy with the thought crossed my mind that prepainted miniatures (D&D, Mechwarrior, Mage Knight etc) have a rather amazing sealer. I've tried to scrape paint off of several in the past and have had no effect. Anyone know if it's just the sealer? Some combo of the paint they use that interacts with the plastic? Have any theories?
