  1. I’m attending a live podcast event in Miami this Friday. I painted up two of the clear dice rollers as gifts for two of the guys. These were fun and quick paint jobs.
  2. My latest, Fun little Tengu done more ranger-ish than rogue. Let me know what you think
  3. Hello All, Here are photos of a 30060 Bones USA "Gabron Farpath, Ranger" I completed a few days ago. Thank you for looking.
  4. My husband chose this to represent his scout character in our fantasy games, color scheme dictated by him. I had fun doing the camo.
  5. I submitted this for RCL, and it was admittedly a bit rushed. The theme was unusual hair color. The skin really didn't work out on this, but I was happy with the attempt at texturing the coat. One of a long line of Reaper minis where it's a very beautiful woman's face, but once you start painting you realize that she barely has a nose.
  6. This was a tough figure to paint; she fought me every step of the way. I stripped and restarted her 3 different tines. The main culprit was the original Bones material, there was a lot of really soft detail there. I intend to get a metal version of her to paint again. I think she could be better, but the person using her for their character is thrilled with her, so that's what's important.
  7. Bones V dreadmere ranger. Submitted for the Feb ‘23 RCL in the ‘something shiny’ category. His sword slowly got bendy again, I should have been more clever in photographing him. Still, a great subject for OSL practice. Comments and criticism are welcome!
  8. Finished up all five rangers from Bones 5. The first one I did is in this first photo and then the hidden photos contain the pics of the new ones. I still have one more from that set, it appears to be the leader but I just found a great pic of a paint up on it and now I have to take some time with it.
  9. I know nothing about the figure; she was in a random lot of 3D misprints I got for free a while ago. Whatever was in her right hand was broken off, and her left arm was broken off around the biceps, so I fixed her up with some spares from my bits box and gave her a quick and simple paint job. Her shield has a Space Wolf decal on it. I hope you like her.
  10. Got two finished for a friend's kid who plays D&D. He mentioned it in passing and i said, "do you know what characters they play as?" He tells me a half elf monk and an elf Ranger. I said, hold my beer. I dug into my treasure trove (aka hoard) and dug them out to paint. I'm sure his kids will love them.
  11. Latest for the local Mini painting club. pretty nice sculpt by Bobby Jackson. I like how it came out.
  12. Hello all you Reapernikud! So latest painted figure, and I'm not 100% sure but I think this was sculpted by Dennis Mize , a Crouching Ranger with Sword: Greens, browns and blacks, rangery colors. Enjoy!
  13. I recently got into miniature painting, and the Mousling Ranger & Yeoman was my first completed mini! 🙂 Because I didn't have a base in the size I needed, I sculpted the base using cardboard and milliput. I then added orchid bark, grass and flower tufts, and long grass flock. The biggest mistake that I made while painting these was not thinning out my paint enough. Or at all… 🙃 While I was able to get fairly thin layers without water or a medium, there were a few spots that had some awful texture. Lessons learned. And while I can see that there are some things that I definitely need to improve on, I don’t think it is really all that bad for my first mini.
  14. Hello All, Here is a 04084 metal Dark Heaven Legends "Mellonir Windrunner, Elf Ranger/Fighter" I completed a few days ago. Thank you for looking.
  15. Hello All, Here is a 77322 Human Female Ranger, Kassandra I completed a few months ago. Thank you for looking.
  16. Good evening Reaper folks! Tonight another Stonehaven Miniatures figure, a Gnome Ranger with a crossbow. A fun and quite petite figure and the funnest part of this was was choosing hair color, hope you guys like him! Really starting to get into painting Stonehaven, some very fun and expressive figures, full of personality!
  17. Meet Ogana, who will star as the main character in my RoSD game. I absolutely love that sculpt (by Julie Guthrie). It's actually one of the few minis I didn't choose from my stash for the game but ordered specifically for this job. Hope he will survive, I'm not known for my skills in table top games... Looking forward to some comments and criticisms!
  18. Another one from August. From the Greek Odyssey expansion in B5. She has just enough detail to be interesting without being overwhelming to paint. Wish the casting had been a little sharper. I had to outline a lot to make things stand out.
  19. Next in line: 77049, Bones Arthrand Nightblade, Elf Ranger. I tried priming with a 1:1 mix of Blue Liner:White Brush On Primer. There were a few mold lines and casting valleys that showed up. I put a layer of Brush On Sealer on them. We’ll see how that worked.
  20. I finished Mason Thornwarden a little earlier today. He's painted up to a (hopefully) decent tabletop standard. I've been reading a lot about Rangers of Shadowdeep on various blogs all over the internet; I can neither confirm nor deny that is what may have led to his selection for the paintbrush. Let me know what you think of him, please.
  21. This is a Patrick Keith sculpt from the Warlord range and I have loved it since it came out years ago. She would be a really cool player character, I don't know why we don't see her more often. Great dynamic movement with this one. Anyway, I threw some color on her, so maybe she'll end up on the table one day.
  22. This is a relatively recent paint job and I struggled with colors for a while before taking inspiration from another model and strengthening the contrast in places. I like the model but she feels very stiff and doll-like. Or maybe she doesn't like the light in her eyes: Fiddled around with some freehand on the back:
  23. I take pics during WIP. But I tend to take a year off between posts to Show Off. Link to WIP to follow. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/88595-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-5-deladrin/&tab=comments#comment-1884050 My model had a miscast to the right side of her face, so I just left it as an exaggerated shadow. I went with an idea for eventually having a similar ranger-y type with seasonal Camo on her cloak, reversible with black on the inside. This is the first. Autumn. The phone camera washes out my colors a fair bit, so I tried my best to true-up with image correction. I hope you enjoy.
  24. This was a repaint from earlier this year. I bought Quickshade Strong Tone for speed painting some of my board games and tried it in Woody. I liked the way it worked for the most part but as you can tell I got some frosting when I matte coated it. Another thing that happened was my paint cracked on my base but I kinda like the way it looks. I probably won't bother fixing any of the issues as I moved on to another figure I am struggling with.
  25. Fun and quick one for RCL new release. Have been aiming for a more dull/gritty looks wtih a lot of my recent figures.
