Starting on November. Turvyn, Ghostwalkers, 30095. This is my duo for the month. I’m thinking dark: grey, brown. The accents will be the stole and sword and gems with a ghostly blue/aqua. And very pale skin. Like someone who’s always out at night, and picked up a ghost touch sword and armor.

Recently finished this Pathfinder Goblin from Bones I for my trio for September. Now I’m working on my duo. The ghost dwarf king. I primed him in white brush on primer. Then 2-3 coats of Spectral Glow. It’s such a great color.

I already finished terrain for Q2. I had started the Strumpet. Categories I’m working on: Large Group: Townsfolk Strumpet Large Figure: Cave Spider Theme April Showers: Deep Dweller with an acrylic resin on part of the base to look wet. Pop Up: 3 townsfolk Pop Up: Gothic Ritual: Torture equipment with blood spatter. Seasonal: Petey for Deep Dish Pizza Day Heavy Mod: Tree of Despair victim: want to reposition head, ropes, spread legs, gouge out middle and sculpt intestines to look like his torturers eviscerated him.

So, I have had a good experience with RCL this year. I came into it late in January, and have already cleared 31 minis. That is almost twice my usual yearly production. Then I thought I knocked it out of the park last year with 50. If I continue this pace I hope to finish 100+ minis this year. My motivation is to plow through Bones I Kickstarter minis. Because I have all my B3/4/5 minis waiting, and just added my pledged Bones 6 stuff to the list! Not including my Quarterlies, here is my planning list for May. Points listed to the left. I should have started this at the beginning of the year but a few months late is better than never. I've been working on getting stuff together for Q2 and some things for the rest of the year. For the quarterly stuff I'm going to continue to work on Grimtalon...that I don't think I have a WIP thread for and my large group has settled on doing a townsfolk theme and I'm doing the Fishwife from Dreadmere in Bones 4 KS. I have a diorama in the works but I really don't know if I'm going to finish it this quarter. Back after a long-ish hiatus. I had to take a break from painting earlier this year because of some eye issues. No that I can see right again, I wanted to take a simple-ish mini to completion. I used the RCL limited palette theme for July. While the paint job on these maggots can be better, it's gratifying to be back to doing something I enjoy immensely.

Finished my first mini this year, and oddly enough it was a speedpaint, taking just over an hour... On the flipside, some of those colours work together really, REALLY well, like Sunrise Orange and Heart Throb Paint.

This is my entry for the seasonal category in the Reaper Challenge League. I picked St Patricks Day as my holiday and found this adorable little fellow and his buddy in the Reaper Store. Normally I paint much bigger, meaner looking minis so this pair were a really nice change of pace. All comments and criticisms are, as always, very welcome. There was a slight hitch when taking the photographs for the mini. I was taking the photos in an area with great natural light, but I was interrupted by an angry Kurogane who was furious that his sleeping spot had been hijacked for something as trifling as miniature photography :D The mini suffered 1d2 bite damage to his hat..... .....and the perpetrator showed a distinct lack of remorse! Such is a life with feline overlords The mini was quickly fixed with some paint plastic surgery. Thanks for looking everyone!

I painted this for the RCL limited palette challenge this month. Used only the 5 colors shown. Lots of mixing happened. I'm super happy with it but as always C&C is welcome.

This was an experiment with color. I decided to give the Limited Palette challenge a try last night. The challenge is 3 colors, plus black and white. Specifically, the three colors must be a blue, green, and pink. I chose cyan blue, gnoll pelt, and cactus flower. I'm quite happy with how she came out, for a figure I wasn't terribly interested in to begin with. Sorry, my camera could not handle a close-up of the face. For anyone wondering about the red hair, a strange thing happens when you mix cactus flower and gnoll pelt.... The base is from Secret Weapon.

Well, I'm back in lockdown. Full, nothing open, don't leave your house, furloughed lockdown. Fortunately, Reaper have started the Reaper Challenge League, which coincides nicely with me having a lot of extra painting time. I'm already in a duo and trio for the league with @Thoramel, @Pochiand @Evilhalfling, but the Fire or Ice category really intrigued me. I love doing fire dragons so I almost started on Narthrax, but then I remembered that I've got a Roc from Bones 4 that I'd always wanted to do as a phoenix. So why not kill two birds with one stone(or roc)? I'd forgotten just how big this 'mini' was that's a 1cm grid on the cutting mat. Nevertheless, I started under the watchful eye of my painting assistant First up, a decent coat of Pure Black Onto the horror, picking out the details with Garnet Red. This took forever, and almost broke one of my old brushes. I started brightening the feathers with Brilliant Red, you can see how much difference it makes in the lower wing. ....and both upper wings are highlighted. All I have to do now is apply the red to the undersides of the wings, body and head of the birdie. Shouldn't take too long! I may have started on Narthrax too.... there's only so much red one person can take! Thanks for looking everyone. It's been a bit of a slog so far, but it should get easier from now on.
