  1. I have finally finished something big! My previous max size was a big spider that I managed to fit on a 4" base, this though... this is proper! This is 77110: Deathsleet (Bones) in a white dragon paintjob. I had a lot of fun painting it and I even used some of my n00b airbrush skills on the wing membranes. Overall I am very pleased how this one came out.
  2. My current project from my Shelf of Shame. She got abandoned when I couldn't figure out what to do about damage to the figure around her mouth. I'm going to use her to practice NMM. Flesh painted. I used the fair skin triad with pure white added for highlights and imperial purple added to the shadows. I'm undecided about her eyes as yet. I'm wavering between a dull lifeless pale blue or bright yellow and orange. For the armour I'm using the night sky triad with black added to the shadows and pure white added for the highlights. Only a little bit of blending done so far on her left shoulder, arm and hip. Some of the convex shapes are causing me to do mental gymnastics to figure out where the highlights should be. Her hair is the undead flesh triad with imperial purple added to the shadows and pure white added to the highlights. The gems will be bright flaming yellow/orange which is why I'm considering whether the eyes should be yellow too. I might dull down the gems to red and give her bright yellow eyes.

    Cuthem and Spire

Well, we have my next installment in some townsfolk Adventuring Kids. Cuthem the Barbarian with a ummmm.... follower of sorts, Spire. The names were given by @SisterMaryNapalm in the WIP I have running for these little tykes. Spire was donated to the cause of this little scene by @malefactus. Love the stuff he makes. Scene Set if fiction by @SisterMaryNapalm "Who are you?" "Me? Ah - don't mind me. I am just an obscure bystander." "You are? You look like a big talking mushroom." "Yeah ... I mean ... what a nice axe you've got there. It's pretty sharp, isn't it?" "It is. You can chop a guy in half. That's not something you can do every day!" "Sounds like your favorite 80's action film." "What's that?" "Never mind. My name is Fungal Spire." "Barbaria Cutthem." Cutthem and Spire - the new show on Netflix WIP Here Thanks for Viewing my madness and any C&C you feel inspired to give.

    77522: Mi-go, Eldritch Horror

Painted this guy up real quick for a game I'm playing in. This was my first real use of the airbrush and I had a few flubs with the blending but overall I'm good with the results.
  5. BLOODRAGE!!!
  6. Got my painting room into shape enough to start painting. Since I haven't really done much since...May? I figured I'd just done some quick table top figs to get back into it. Most of my figs are still stuffed in the closet or basement, but I found a bag of IMEF marines I'd been using as proxies for SecFor IV in MERCS: Recon until I got some MERCS painted. Picked out one of each (don't seem to have the kneeling guy, have to track him down once I get my Bones out of the closet) and threw some brown liner on them. So far I've determined I need to steal the comfy padded chair back from my wife. The hard wooden chair will not do for long sessions.....
  7. Back in December, when I finally had some time and motivation to get back to painting, I decided I'd really quickly do up some IMEF marines. Just table top, didn't even clean up mold lines or anything. Well, do primarily to being easily distracted by......what was I saying? Oh yes, easily distracted by other bright shiny objects, it took me over 4 months to get them all done. Here is a quick group shot. I still don't have any real futuristic urban terrain to use to shoot these guys. Reggie and Torch still need to be sealed, but looking at the forecast it could be June before it stops raining. The rest have already seen combat as some mercs for hire last week in Savage Rifts. WIP ( with many individual shots) is here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/78476-jasper-gets-back-to-painting-with-some-imef-marines/

    02121 Allanah Greyloft

New project, not from my shelf of shame. My plan is to use greys to make it look like she is in pre-dawn light with a little bit of illumination from a glowing golden gem on the end of her staff. So far I have managed to prep the mini and apply the paint on primer. This is my first time using this primer so I'm interested to see how smooth it will be.

    Tengu Wizard reaper 03775

First Post! Hard to see in the pictures but his eyes and beak are done in a shiny varnish. Im pretty proud of him and might base him at some point. Any Critique is welcome!

    77148: Mangu Timur

Finished him up a week ago or so, but just got around to pics. Second attempt at NMM, not really happy with the results, but I suppose it works. Had further plans on doing OSL from the sword but was feeling finished by the time I got that far and decided good enough. May try and come back and add it in later though.

    03015: Maeral Female Elf

Been trying to do so much. Get back into woodworking/pipe making, both kids have baseball, son has scouts, and I've been wanting to paint some more. So here is a figure I started a while back. I didn't take any before pics but I started to repaint the old areas I had painted.

    77003: Orc Spearmen (3)

Ok, painted one of these up a few months ago and just did the other 2 a couple weeks ago. Just picked up an airbrush so this was my first time trying out some zenithal highlighting. I'm pretty happy with how the new ones turned out. First the old one Then here is one of the new ones And the group photo

    Iron Golem 77514

Another one for a client of mine completed! He sent me a character illustration as inspiration for the mini. Really like this figure, and may pick him up myself, paint him in full military green for use with my IMEF Troopers!

    Reaper Bones Fomorian Hot pink!

I wanted to share this since I did not find many of these already painted when looking for reference photos, maybe it can help someone else! I went super bold with this guy, as I tend to do lol! The pictures don't really show how gross those pustules are though lol! They have a bit of nurgle's rot on them as well. The basing was done with mostly natural elements! A real lichen laden stick, seed pods, fern leaves, along with some Army Painter Battlefields Grass Green and Battlefield Rocks, as well as some basic clump foliage for filler! Does anyone like to use natural materials for basing!? C&C welcome! Thanks for looking!
  15. These mini's are sooooo tiny! AND adorable!! I did have some trouble really picking out details on the Fairy and the one I am referring to as "Ragdoll". The soft edges were a little confusing at first and the way the Fairy's body is positioned, it was hard to tell what was leg or clothing! lol But I looked on google to get some reference from others that had already tackled these. That was super helpful! After that I had painted these 3 up and set em aside for a while and worked on other things, not really sure what I wanted to do with them. Then a couple weeks ago I went on a Youtube binge watching soooo mannny videos about basing and came up with some cool ideas! (Stay tuned for more on that!) While cleaning up my bulletin board, a pushpin broke. The metal part, right off. I almost tossed it out, but I have a problem holding onto anything that might be useful later lol. But then I immediately imagined it as a spool of thread. *sketch idea, hold for later* Then I just had to figure out what mini to use and my husband suggested the ragdoll, I mean she is stitched together so ya! Then I did the Treant, those yellow bits on his base are foraged pieces of the invasive plant Virginia Creeper. We have some growing on our shed and as I was clearing it away I noticed how cool the little feets from their vines they use to climb look, so I snipped a ton of em, dried em out and hold onto them for neat terrain. These ones I chose to paint this yellow tone to accent the tree, without taking away or distracting from it! Lastly, was the fairy, I just felt her jamming out on top of a little pile of rocks would be cute lol. So I used cork as stone and little bits of clump foliage and some other cork stone and flock to decorate. Thanks for looking everyone! C&C always welcome!
  16. My OSL project -- 02682: Selmarina, Witch by Bob Ridolfi. My intention is to make the orb look like a flaming orange gem. Comments and criticism are welcome.

01601: Domur, High Mage (25th anniversary)

This year is the year of giving miniatures as birthday gifts to the friends I game with. One of these fine fellows--my oldest and dearest friend--has a birthday in a couple weeks. He loves magic-users and is obsessed with Harry Potter, so I painted up a 25th anniversary Domur as a classic "Gandalf the Grey" style wizard for his present: Tried to layer the flames to give some interesting and pleasing texture. Let me know how I did. Also, given his love for all things Potter, I did my best to modify Domur's spellbook to a more familiar book cover... I'm actually surprised I could keep the brush steady enough for it to come across at all similar, to be honest.
  18. Finished my first serious mini since gettng back into painting. Had a lot fun with him!

    77334 Dragon Tortoise

I needed to paint something which was not on my shelf of shame. I will use this guy next week in my D&D game, so I did a speed paint on him. Not the greatest, but it helped be get over painting inertia and get moving on my shelf of shame projects again. I have realized I just don't like painting big miniatures very much.

Quick two hour paint job for a client. Face was a mess, with a mold line running down the right side. Oh well, the client likes him, and looks good on the tabletop. :)
  21. Hi, i have many Reaper Colours in triads, but i dont know if maybe the store that sold them to me some years ago had an old batch or else, as i see that some of the colors are not as shown in the reaper site. So wanted to ask anybody that has the "undead skin tones" and "vampiric skintones" , if you have any pics that show the true colour of the "moldy skin", "bloodless skin", "ghoul skin", "vampiric skin", "vampiric highlight" and "vampiric shadow", as i want to compare and determine if maybe my colors are wrong or something :( and see what i need to add to them to make them be as intended :) Thanks for the help !

    03844: Damaris Walmund, Duskwarden

Damaris Walmund, Duskwarden. Another project brought back from my shelf of shame. I originally started painting her as a 'genasi' for the Princes of the Apocalypse campaign for D&D, but after I got done the blue skin I couldn't figure out what colours to paint the rest of her. I think that is one of the main reasons I end up not finishing miniatures -- I can't picture what they are going to look like finished so I'm can't figure out what step to take next. However, I just got the violet red triad in the mail, so I had to give the paint a try on something. Here she is, ready to take on her enemies (aka the PC's in my D&D game). Comments and criticism are welcome as always.
  23. Ok, here is my first NMM paint job. I'm not sure if I dislike the technique, or just picked a bad mini to try it on first. I found it a bit fiddly and frustrating with all of the dully cast spikey bits. I did a pretty quick TT quality job on everything not NMM, so I know there are a lot of places to improve there. Also, I feel like the photos make it look better than it really is. I'm pretty happy with how the front of the armor turned out, but the shield and shoulder pauldrons were frustrating. Would truly appreciate any feedback on improving the quality of my NMM! I'll be doing Mangu next and tracking in the same WIP thread. Wip thread here:
  24. So I have a high level campaign that I want to throw a pit fiend at near the end. I figured let's paint up Agramon! I had to go and challenge myself though. I want the lava of his base to object source light all of him! :D And then there is the fireball in his hand. At the moment I am still painting without OSL, he is not ready for that yet. His wings are not attached, nor is his fireball. The rest is attached and locked on the base though. I can still easily reach all of the model, but it will help me determine where OSL is needed. So without further ado, here is the current state of Agramon. And without his wings.
