Gudridr the Golden by RBG Sculpted by Tre Manor Hope everyone enjoys this one. This was a resin miniature from the kickstarter. The base is MDF that I cut in half with my scalpel then applied Greenstuff/Epoxy to and sculpted the brink pattern. The rocks on top are actual rocks and sand. FYI - because it's resin on an MDF base with greenstuff it's super light weight. I didn't like the idea of adding height to the miniature by just sculpting the brink on top of the standard MDF base. My solution is as you can see. I tired going simpler in the color scheme with this one and I think it turn out great.

I had paint day today and wanted to paint something I could finish pretty quickly since I will be leaving for vacation. I chose the mouseling sorcerer. Had some fun with him! Here is Dumble Doormouse!

After painting the dragon for the Paint Your Dragon Contest, I needed a "palette cleanser" before starting on the Jedi children minis for my grandkids' Christmas ornaments. They are even tinier than the dwarf so it was good for me to practice on a little mini again. Her eyes, especially her right one gave me fits. Other than that eye, I am pretty happy with her and she is just for play anyway. I tried to really push my highlights on her. I think I am usually too conservative. This time, I may have overdone it but I like her and she was for practice so she'll stay this way most likely. I did a wash on her hair but it really knocked the highlights down so I re=highlighted. Also, I realize once I saw the photos, she has a tiny bit of flock stuck to the front of her. I have tweezed that off but did not retake the photos as it didn't make that big of difference. Any C&C is appreciated.

These are the "Vampire Brides" from Bad Squiddo Games, which last summer came out with a line of Hammer-type horror figures called "My Last Sunrise." They are sculpted by Gus Kearns and were introduced with the tag line "Get married, they said. Best day of your life, they said." WIP thread here.

A note: I use Golden Matte Fluid Acrylics and mix my own colors. All color references are to what I have mixed and sometimes how. Last summer Bad Squiddo Games had an eyeblink of a Kickstarter (I think it might have been one week) for a line of Gothic horror minis, called "My Last Sunrise". Annie the Dice Bag Lady specializes in realistic non-objectified female minis from manufacturers worldwide and has a pretty good sense of humor about it. These are three vampire brides from the assortment. They have a classic Hammer horror look to them. They were introduced in the Kickstarter as "Get married, they said. Best day of your life, they said." Anyhow, I figured I would paint them up. As ever (though I don't think I have mentioned it lately), comments and critiques are most appreciated. I'm always learning and glad to hear other perspectives. Normally I prime my minis white and wash them with Burnt Umber, a rich, dark brown. But I wanted these to look more chilly so I washed them with a cold grey mixed from Ultramarine Blue and Burnt Sienna. It does not enhance the details as much as the darker Umber. Ultramarine Blue tends to dry with a grainy texture in thin washes. In passing, I note that this looks like a pretty good crystalline rock texture and would be a fairly fast method for painting statues. C&C welcome!

Been a while since I posted here. Been a few slow months. Did get to play around with OSL, and plenty of gore on this one. I like gore. :D :

Hi! A quick simple paint job on a really beautifully sculpt mini. Hope you guys like it. As usual any feedback and critiques are very welcome.

This Salim Ghandafar from Reaper's Pathfinder Miniatures rage. I painted him up to represent my character in an ongoing DnD5 game, Yusuf Al-Amin. He's a cleric of Sûne, hence the reds and yellows. I'm very happy with how he turned out but I did screw up the varnashing process and ended up with some frosting which I had to try and fix. I also noticed in the closeup that he has some white spots that I haven't taken care off.

This is the last of my painted figures from recent weeks. I wanted to do him up in dark colors, without using a lot of black. I don't have a specific character in mind, and this way he can fit a variety of roles if he ever sees use on a game table. Now to rest up and clean the table for the big weekend!

I like bright colors. He was painting up as part of my dungeon crawl so the colors needed to pop against the grey of the dungeon walls. And I like bright colors.

HerzogBrian talked me into this color scheme. I guess it works for an evil cleric.
