  1. Just a quick paint of a small, mini robot from Bombshell minis. He was a simple fun little guy! Thanks for looking!
  2. Hi everyone, First of, if this is in the wrong section please feel free to move the topic to the right section, but my guess is this is the right spot. I received an email today from E2046 about the annual contest for figurines, dioramas and robots. I thought to post it here since a lot of real talent is roaming this forum and maybe some of you are interested in joining this competition. Contest http://www.e2046.com/contest/2016/ Rules and regulations http://www.e2046.com/contest/2016/rule/&lang_id=1 I wish everyone who decides to join a lot of fun creating somet
  3. I said I would post this months ago, but never got around to taking the pictures. This is one of the Paint n takes I did at What Khan in November. He's a little slap dash as I just wasn't patient enough to let him dry properly between steps, but I think he looks alright. Comments? Criticisms? Deep seated fears?
  4. Presenting the Biocognator Golem from Wolsung, a steampunk robot piloted by a pair of lab mice who are determined to take over the world. There is a WIP thread for it here. Biggest lesson I've learnt painting this one? Don't use Vallejo Gunmetal Blue as a main colour! There's a nicely detailed mini in there somewhere, but the metallic blue just makes the whole thing too dark when photographed. As least it looks fairly good in hand. Any comments and criticisms are, as always, warmly received.
  5. Beep Boop Whirl. That's what I'm calling him.
  6. A game store near me is having a "Killa Kan Deathmatch" I wasn't planning to enter, but during dinner on Tuesday a friend brought up the idea of converting a reaper dumpster to be the body of the Kan. which lead to this: He was just stuck together with poster putty as a proof of concept. But I wasn't happy with the idea of gluing stuff to the dumpster since I already painted it, and will get more use out of the basic dumpster than I will the Kan. so that lead to this: The dumpster sits on it's lift rails inside the frame, so I can put it in for the game, and then pull it o
  7. Decided to paint candy as a robot.
  8. I’m happy with how both of them came out, and now I just need to paint up a knight so I can field them in a game. I’m thrilled with how the freehand came out, it was worth the effort. Lug could probably stand to have a bit more shading on the non-yellow parts, but I don’t mind if he looks a bit plasticky. Unrelated to these two, but here's another Relic Knights mini I finished. Yes, this is totally a game piece.
  9. I present the Storm Knight by Kingdom Death. Fairly pleased with him, painting a cape made out of clouds was as difficult as I imagined, but I think I did okay. Slightly annoyed that you can't make out the water effects on his base though, it took a week to painstakingly slowly fill up that puddle! As always, all comments and criticisms are greatly appreciated.
  10. Its the Sinister brain! Now all I need in an Emperor Mollusk.
  11. This month has been really busy, but I managed to at least get a couple more Mekkus done. These ones have a pair of Pulsar Rifles. And here is my Mekkus squad now. Still 3 more to paint from what came in the KS.
  12. I also managed to whip through a couple of Mekkus Aggressors. These are the version with twin Particle Beam weapons. Here they are with the Defender I'd already done.
  13. From The Worlds In My Head: Legions of the Spark. True sentient AI is impossible without a soul. An eon ago, the First Ones created a robotic servitor race and harvested whole Silmn worlds to give them just enough self awareness to be effective. That was before Unit One was noticed by a Crystalspace entity who elevated Unit One to full sentient and enabled him to do the same for his fellows. The robot rebellion was swift and lethal. They took with them all the factories, programming centers and a warehouse full of harvested souls - The Spark, without which they were senseless automata.
  14. And here's the pay off for the previous 4 minis, I got a big absurd robot in exchange for painting them. Which also got painted. They come with bits for corporation, rebel, or mutant striders. I used a mix of all three. corporation arms, mutant shoulder things, rebel banners, cockpit, and launcher. it also has a random pouch on the back of one shoulder because the banner ends abruptly in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, robot.
  15. I finally pulled the trigger on a 3D printer. Although it's not related the Reaper my wife thought I should post it here too. I sculpted, printed, assembled, and painted the robot from one of the AMC movie PSA's. If you're interested you can read more about the project here: http://www.3dprintingforum.org/threads/2352-The-AMC-robot?p=7145#post7145 I've made a base and a paint station for myself as well. Since they're a lot more Reaper/Miniature related I'll definitely be posting those shortly.
  16. This is the first figure for the 2nd faction I'm painting up for Counterblast, the Mekkus. They are your classic all conquering robot race who turned on their creators and are not running rampant across the galaxy! I started with the Defender #1, a heavily armored defensive unit. Hopefully the fairly simple paint scheme will make it quick to get the whole squad painted up.
  17. And here is a H0pR Bot for my Lancers squad. He's a great fig, lots of ways to pose him. I had a lot of fun painting him up.
  18. Got these oddities out of a $1 per bit bitz bin a few days ago. I would be curious to know what they are. Markings underneath or on tabs (going left to right): "3o| PAL" -sword/pistol dude "©AEG '99" and "SH55" -troll? with missing arm "© PP 2006" -guy with brimmed hat "Ral Partha Ent" "1991 R K•••" -robot, far right The last two I at least know the makers, Privateer Press and Ral Partha. On the last one the dots are for three letters I just cannot read.
  19. 94003 Razor is the tiny chicken walker guy with no arms. Store Link 94004 Assassin is a standard mech guy with non-symmetrial weapon pods on his shoulders. Store Link 94007 Wight is a big running CAV with square pods and long arm-guns. Store Link Also, having just looked these guys up on the kickstarter page they (and my Spectre from before) all belong to the yellow ankh-dagger faction, which is a nice coincidence in case the rules ever come out. (cough) Usual prep: Filed off (some) mold lines, boiled to straighten things out, washed with a soapy toothbrush, rinsed, dried, and stuck to bottl
  20. The are the first of the Counterblast figures I've completed. This BdE Bot was painted a while ago, but I never got around to basing it. Finally got that done. This guy was fun to paint. Finally an eye big enough for me to work with, and no worries about having to line it up with another one . I kept the bases simple on these as Counterblast is a skirmish game I hope to be playing before too much longer.
  21. This is the Reaper CAV "Spectre" in Bones, number "**94006" (I hope). Story time: Having only painted a handful of fantasy figures, my CAV earlybird robots arrived, and I became paralyzed. "How do I paint them? What colors? Do I paint them all the same color? Or in squads? How do I build squads? Where are the rules? Oh no what if I do it wrong?" Yet, when I assembled them all, I found an excuse! A Spectre with two left arms. Aha! Reaper wastes no time in shipping out a replacement, so my reprieve will, it seems, be brief. When my box arrives, I tear into it expecting a tiny mech arm to be
  22. Here you can see what I plan to do with my BSR and Saucer. 1. Take them apart (it was easy to do) 2. glue where the pilot should be a magnet and same to the pilot 3. glue dome to the saucer or BSR 4. glue strong magnets in the BSR and Saucer to put it later together. 5. the Backpack is not glued to the robot yet, it will be magnetized, too! I do not think I can do it before next year, because I need to order some magnets. For the BSR I plan to do more, I will put soon pictures and explanations online.
  23. Yep. Another Kingdom Death mini from me (can't get enough of the stuff at the moment), this time it's the fearsome Storm Knight:- Didn't get too far today though:- I've only managed to basecoat the steel and metallic blue parts in Nightmare Black. I think this is going to be an even harder project than I thought.
