  1. This is the second miniature I've ever painted, and the first with Reaper paints. I figured that a brush holder would come in handy for the all the Bones V painting in my future! The only Reaper paints I own are the Bones V paints (Learn to Paint kit and the two collections), plus two bottles of Reaper MSP 9038 Rainy Gray. Overall I'm really pleased with the way this first attempt worked out! I primed everything with 9038 Rainy Gray, then put on the base coats. The wings and ears gave me the most trouble as I had generously overpainted with 9410 Dragon Green, and was attempting a w
  2. I saw the Rocky miniatures, and with how cute they are I could not resist getting one to use as a dragon to send against my players. As such, here is my take on the Flying Rocky, as a juvenile Red Dragon! Comments, criticisms and advice as ever more than welcome!
  3. I painted up the Annoyed Rocky as Spyro the Dragon because when I got it that is what it screamed at me to do. I even took some time to do a little basing.
  4. Hey all, I don't normally post pictures up of what I've painted but this was a special case and I mentioned it in the Randomness thread. Young lady down the street (2nd grade?) is quite the character and takes my razzing her in stride. We had a long discussion about why she was eating bean bags and her denial of that, for example. Anyway, she managed to talk her parents into buying a very large unicorn lawn ornament for Christmas. I don't see how a unicorn is Christmassy, but she managed it, so I felt that deserved a bit of a reward and I should paint her a unicorn that didn't have to go into
  5. Finally finished something for myself - woohoo! One of the set of Rocky baby dragons from Bones IV. Went with a red scheme on this one. Not going to win any awards with all the mold lines I missed! Was supposed to be a quick speed paint, and yeah, that didn't happen. Anyway, though he turned out pretty good, although the pictures don't show the highlights on the red. Tried three different set-ups and still looks flat here. Ah well.
  6. A craft store near me was going out of business, and I found the rock molding kit from Scene O Rama for $1. There was enough plaster to make 2 molds of each rock. I painted them as instructed with the provided paints, glued them to balsa squares and rectangles, added some dirt and the talus. Some bushes added for color and interest. I wouldn’t use balsa wood for this again. The washes and thinned down glues caused the balsa to curl. I figured id use them as difficult terrain indicators in our D&D games. I’m thinking about running the old timey Isle of Dread adventure for my
  7. Let's see how long it takes Mad Jack to take this topic into Beekeepers! http://deadline.com/2015/04/rocky-horror-picture-show-remake-fox-gail-berman-kenny-ortega-1201407925/ So Fox is going to make a TV remake of Rocky Horror. Why? Yes it does have a cult following, but that is mostly for the call back experience in the theatres. If you're honest about it, watching the show all by it's lonesome is a mediocre experience. Especially if you watch it not knowing anything of the live show experience. I have no idea how they expect this thing to be any good.
