Ok, this is how I do it, but there isn't a right way. I tried a few different methods, so you can judge for yourself if you like any one of them better. First, materials: The top tool s a firm color shaper chisel. I like it to hold against the putty while I'm thinning the petals with the metal shaper to get a nice sharp thin form. I don't have a picture of this because I only have 2 hands. Next, get something the putty won't stick to like plastic card or glass. Use it to form your shape.
