Bregnor Hefthammer is the older brother of Feanon Hefthammer and Norim Hefthammer. Unlike his sibilings, he retired from a life of adventure and returned to his mountain home to assist with its rebuilding. A devout follower of Moradin, Bregnor is never without his hammer, though he as since put away his armor. He has a distinct love for ale and crafting, and on more than one occasion, tried to combine the two with little success. Bregnor (front) Bregnor (back) I tried to go for a brassy/gold look with the hammer. Overall I think he came out pretty good. His clothing was intentionally kept simple. The hardest part for me was the eyes, which I could not seem to get right. I am still trying, but I may hang it up on this one. Side note, I think I need some new brushes. Hope you like him, and as always CC is welcome! CAH

This is Sandra Garrity's 02075, Katarina the Invoker. Technically she is from the set 03375: DHL Classics: Female Wizards, which seems to be different only in that the figures have much smaller bases. To increase stability I glued her to a fender washer. This is a figure I started a long while ago and finished only recently as part of my Conga Line of Doom. I wanted to refine her further, especially the tortoiseshell cat at her feet, but time is short and minis need playing with.

Pillar of Evil Sculpted by Sandra Garrity The innovative Ub3r sent me this little guy. I decided the base was not good enough. SO I filed it down as best I could then, as you can see, pinned it to a 20mm MDF base. After that I used greenstuff and filled in the gaps. I did leave a large enough gap I could sculpt the greenstuff into a suitable platform. Finally, Primed and washed. I work on this little guy in-between drying periods. I figure I can use him as an interesting marker for wargaming and for all sorts of things in fantasy/sci-fi 25mm gaming. :)

As with Katarina the Invoker, this is really from the set 03375: DHL Classics: Female Wizards. The figure is not quite as shown in 02115 as the figures in 03375 have tiny bases, barely larger than their clothes, which is why I have attached them to fender washers. She is also part of my year end Conga Line of finishing up half-done minis. If I didn't do something like this I would probably fuss over her forever. Sandra Garrity is a wonderful sculptor for women with lots of personality.

Here is my Balto Burrowell, painted up for a character of mine in Pathfinder. He is a gnome Sorcerer named Pipperton Bubblebrook from Absolom. His closest friend is his familiar, Bucky the badger who was inspired by a honey badger. I'm sorry for the blurry picture, I am still working on my camera foo, and a lightbox. If I take a better picture, I will update it. Pipperton Bucky As always, thanks for looking and I hope you like it! C&C welcome. CAH

First finished mini of 2016. I started this with the intention of gifting it to my Mom for Xmas. Well, Xmas is crazy busy and I didn't have time to finish her. So she'll get her tomorrow instead. She will be a part of the Nativity scene I plan on creating for her Xmas present this year. I loved painting this one, all that lovely cloth and the wings were super fun to do. I'm very pleased with the yellow. Yellow has been the bane of my existence but I think I may have cracked it. Now if only I could take a decent picture...

Kimberlee spent a few years patiently reading and sitting on my paint table waiting her turn. I slowly added leftover green stuff to her base over the months, then recently realized I had no space left to fill. She looked at me, I looked at her, then put the fighter I was about to paint down and focused on her. She is indeed fair. I freehanded the floor boards for fun.

The hunter tightened his grip on his bow, preparing to draw his arrow to his ear. He had followed the trail of his quarry, a mighty wild boar, into the clearing ahead. A sudden crunching sound, like breaking bone, made him freeze in his tracks. He cautiously crept forward and peered around the trunk of an ancient oak. The vision of pure majesty he saw within the clearing stole his breath. There, a mighty golden griffon was finishing its meal of wild boar. The hunter slowly, deliberately relaxed his hold and returned his arrow to its quiver. He clasped a hand over his heart and bowed his head toward the regal creature. He would find other game elsewhere, for this meat had been claimed by the King of Beasts and the King of Birds. Only have the base work left to do, figure paint is essentially done unless I find something that needs touch-up.

A'thrikis gazed upon his newest apprentice. This one will make perfect fodder to keep those that would disrupt his plans distracted. He had more pressing matters with which to attend. From the shadows beneath the city, he and his coven would bring forth eternal night, and awaken the Old One. Armed with the Seer's Crystal, he would be unstoppable. This one is one the big baddies for an upcoming D&D game I have planned. He is the leader of a coven of mages/witches bent on bringing forth the eternal night, and awakening the Old Ones. Based on that, I opted for green skin over the common purplish pink skins I have seen on this type of creature. I painted this one in about 3 hours, using only washes. It was my first attempt at building coats on top of each other. Overall, I think it came out pretty good for a table top model. I did base the skintone, but that was in. Everything else was done by layering washes, blow drying the model, matte varnish, blow drying, and then washes. I give you A'thrikis the Mad Master and Apprentice CAH

I received Diabolus as a Christmas present four (or was it five?) years ago. I started on him twice with at least one dunk in a simple green bath. He has been puttied, fallen apart, been reglued and pinned, collected dust and cat hair, and generally glared at me from my shelf o' opportunity. With such a history, he just needed to be done. I took a few days off of work last week to recharge my mental gears. He is the primary fruit of that recharge. With a 12 inch wingspan, Diabolus was too wide to use my usual 8"x11" backdrop paper, so I removed it for all but the front shot. A dragon of Diabolus's stature needs a treasure horde, so I made sure his base was teeming with gold, silver, jewels, and other bits. I drew inspiration from various resources, including the Big ol' Pile of Treasure article in The Craft section. A couple of Bones skeletons sacrificed themselves to become bit players in the base. Having an eternal blanket of gold can't be that bad... Comments, questions, and critiques are greatly appreciated!

Another one of my not doing much with them dragons. He also has a laser rifle. His color is inspired by a dragon I got in my first exchange here on the forums. The person took my love of dragons seriously and sent me one of this guy with a very similar paint job (but no rifle). I did use a wash on him as the base coat did not go between all those scales.

After we started the Rise of the Runelords PbP here, I found myself on a mission. I created a catfolk character, Kehrgl (only later would I reflect on the closeness to a certain kind of exercise, LoL, and then decide to keep the name anyway), and I wanted a mini to suit her. And holy crap--catfolk minis are a job to come by. Ones that fit the bill, at least. Luckily, someone directed me to the Panthera Tribe in the 100 Kingdoms game, by Black Orc Games. And there I found some pretty cool cat-people minis. And go figure! Apparently sculpted by Sandra Garrity. Of course I'd like them. I think it's a really nice mini, beyond being simply leaps and bounds by most of the catfolk-types I's finding. I had quite a bit of fun with her, though she was exceedingly simple. Kind of felt my way into the purple--didn't want blue, but still wanted it to feel warm to me (but also cool, I guess; whatever). Decided to put her on a base from Micro Arts Studio. Tried a little vine action with some stuff I got; I swear it doesn't look as much like chopped broccoli irl. I'm pretty pleased with her, all in all. Thanks for looking!

Again. Not doing anything super spiffy. Another member of my army. Likely will be in a group shot at the end. I did him as a black and purple with a rifle. The blue is more his choice to make him look fiercer as he has scars around both wings.

Here is Uenthur. I thought I was going to be putting him on the table to play today, so it was kind of quicky paint job. I am happy with the way he came out. I used a limited color pallet, trying to really stay in the earth tones region. I gave him blonde hair (sort of) to go along with it. Overall, I feel like he's a solid piece for the amount of time I put into him. He looks really good at a distance, and that's a good thing. I need to keep him at least 24" from his foes! Also, if any has any suggestions on photo stuff, I could really use some help. I seem to be having an issue with some of the more subtle tones bleaching out, and it makes the mini look a bit off in the pictures. I am limited on space, so a lightbox is kind of out of the question. Specific bulb maybe? Uenthur Bloodmane, Apprentice Enchanter Here are the the Wizard and Apprentice together, with the construct. This is another batch for Cal's Pathfinder game. I've wanted to paint them up for some time, so 2 birds 1 stone on this one! It was fun painting the elder male as it was based on Robert Cruse (AKA Jester), one of Reaper's finest painters, and sculpted by the wonderful Sandra Garrity. I believe she did the other 2 as well. Enjoy!

So I am embarrassed to say that my daughter has painted more minis than I have but the work she does has been pretty awesome and I hope she continues to enjoy this hobby. She turned 5 at the end of last month. Showing in the order she completed them. Vanja, Fire Giant Queen - This one I got for her around July when we took a trip to Reaper and I had her pick a mini out. She finally got to paint it around November. I helped only with the skin. She was tired of painting by the time she got to only the skin and so I slapped the color she wanted on there. Fire Dragon - This mini was bought during the Reaper Artist Con I think. She painted it the weekend of her birthday. I talked her into letting me show her what a quick wash of black would do to it. Great Worm - This is one of the minis she got from my mom for her birthday. It was the easier of the two for us to set up so she could paint right away. She picked the colors and just went crazy with it. I even let her use my detail Reaper brush for the teeth. She has already been picking out things in my Bones II stash she wants to paint but we may tackle her other birthday gift from my mom first, Nethyrmaul the Undying. One day I will find the Pathfinder Red Dragon in stock and she can paint it. Edit: Forgot to add tags

One of the last minis left from the batch I had left from a decade or so ago: Sandra Garrity's Arachno Champion. Not sure what possessed me to buy him in the first place, honestly lol. But he's a pretty badass sculpt, amirite. Thanks for looking!

Hi folks, my D&D group is still playing through Tyranny of Dragons (D&D 5E) and soon they will encounter a White Dragon. Other people have posted the Bones Silver Dragon as a White before, so here is my attempt. I painted the mini in April but I haven't had time to take pictures until today. I used a 65mm base, but I don't remember the manufacturer... C&C welcome! [edit] Updated the post with a larger first picture. Now you can see that I didn't do a proper job removing all mold lines... ;) [/edit]

As those keeping score at home surely must know by now, I loooove Sandra Garrity's work. Elia Shadowfeet, Female Halfling Thief, is a fantastic mini, innit? I was pretty happy with how mine turned out, here. Thanks for looking.

This guys were fun (and quick) to paint up. Snake on the right is a Indian Cobra as the sculpt intends. (The white on the hood follows the shape sculpted in.) Snake on the left is roughly a spotted viper. I converted the cobra by chopping of its hood, but should have just shorten the hood and added some green stuff to the remaining bit of hood to give it a wide face.

These have been setting around waiting for me to paint them for awhile. I already have some normal colored painted rats, so I started tame (light purple instead pink on the white rat, then added stripes), then tried a "plant" rat, and finished with a sunset rat. I didn't spend very long on them. Perhaps an hour total including time debating over colors.

Josephine Lucero was a miniature I purchased back around 2000 or so as a character for a D&D game. When I started painting miniatures as a hobby, she was one of the first I painted because I still had her sitting around. So she is probably my 2nd or 3rd miniature painted (I do not count high school painting attempts). This was about three years ago (Reaper got me hooked with a Paint and Take at PAX East 2012). I remember the dress in particular was Pro Paint Glacier Blue, since I had a pot of it from 2003 or so that was still more-or-less okay. Fast forward to ReaperCon 2015. I was digging around the metal trade table when I spotted Josephine. I decided I would paint her up again in more-or-less the same colors, and got started right away (modulus lots of hanging out and chatting). I used some tips from Corporea's Flesh and Faces class, as well as some new Scale 75 paints I picked up. Overall, I probably spent less time on Josephine 2.0 than I did back in 2012 (though I don't really remember how long I spent back then). Derek and some others gave me a few suggestions near the end of the con, but I decided that she would a 100% "Painted at ReaperCon" miniature, and didn't put those final touches on her, even though they would have been fairly easy to do. P.S. And I just noticed... I forgot eyebrows. Grrr. I even noticed that she needed them multiple times. At least they're sculpted on so she doesn't look too weird without them.
