SKU: 77278 Bones Sharkman by Glitterwolf
Glitterwolf posted a topic in Show Off: PaintingFirst mini I finished in 2020! Sharkman / Karkarion Warrior Bones. Wielding a fistdagger made of his great great grandfather's tooth he's ready for battle. Nobody will contest his hunting grounds! Time to shed some blood! slowbro posted a topic in Show Off: PaintingI painted this dude in about an hour. It came in the mail the morning before the game session I was planning to use him. I'm using this mini for a recurring character who previously lost an arm (space dragon bit it off during a spelljammer campaign). It's great because the half shark/half man is very mild mannered, but fierce in a fight so the mini has a great presence outside of combat just to remind the players of the other side of the coin. We're running Strahd and I replaced the mad mage with another recurring character and had him magically regrow the sharkman's arm. I may come back and cut one of his arms off later though.
Had a fun paint session with family on Saturday. My brother-in-law and his daughter have never painted a mini so I asked if they wanted to join in as my daughter and I painted something. They had a great time. Even the brother-in-law who got so into it and when anyone asked if he was having fun would just say "it is something to do". My daughter chose the Brass Bull: My niece chose the Chimera: And the brother-in-law was given the Sharkman: He already has plans on what he wants to do next weekend to finish it up. So we will need to get him set up at the table once we are back from Reaper HQ. A pic of the girls enjoying their paint session: I continued work on my metal Dire Bear when I was able to do so. Between helping out where I could and keeping the girls from trying to pour out their own paint I got a few swabs of the brush down.
Bones II Wereshark, 92696
Pingo posted a topic in Works in Progress: PaintingI'm painting up a batch of figures for oceanic adventures as my husband goes "Ooh, I have to come up with something good for that!" This is the new Bones II wereshark, a version of 03625: Karnedge Gorefathom, Karkarion Boss. First I primed it with Reaper's Brown Liner. I started painting the sand under its feet with a layer of pure Iron Oxide Yellow, followed by a mix of that plus Titanium White, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, and just a breath of Phthalo Green. I then mixed up a subdued dark blue-grey out of Ultramarine Blue and Burnt Sienna. It's for drow flesh, but lightened up just a bit makes a good shark grey. I then mixed a much lighter version, not quite pure white, and laid down some thin color for the creature's belly and underparts.
