  1. Work-In-Progress for RBG: Olsvalter the Aged by Tre Manor This miniature was a commission for my D&D group. He is standing on broken ground that is still irradiated by magic. This is the second John (Tre) Manor Sculpt I have painted. I'm fond of his style. C&C welcome
  2. Tengu Rogue: 03698 by Derek Schubert Work-In-Progress for the Tengu Rogue Completed for the 2015 Summer Exchange for Marineal. She requested bright colors. I pushed myself to go bright. Enjoy!
  3. A Fire Dragon, painted up in fiery colors, with tan wings and underbelly. A truly classic color scheme. This also represents my first attempt at basing. It's pebbles, beach sand, and a bit of static grass pulled from a pot topper I purchased at a craft store, all held down with matte medium and a bit of earth color.
  4. My name is Doctore Oenomaus, I have started my collection when I was gifted upon by my mother a board game filled with detailed miniatures taken from realms and eras all fated to battle each other in the name of the gods, such was the theme of Heroscape. Then I came across fantasy, medieval, and science fiction miniatures from novelty stores, comic book stores, Ebay and of trade. After parting with some coin, I now hold quite the variety of miniatures; vast and numerous for such a new person of collecting. Now, I procured some Ral Partha, and Bones minis, unsullied, and un painted... in attempt to join the ranks of miniature artists and painters, I bought some acrylic and stole my sister's paintbrush...now, here I am humbled...to be here, and I show you some of my wares, even though of low quality. I will continue to improve as I strive to emulate all other's works as best I can. Sincerely, Genesis.
  5. Here's the large Earth Elemental I painted up. I'm particularly fond of the crystals: Here's the link to the WIP thread: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/59079-gcb-paints-77185-large-earth-elemental/
  6. Well, I ended up buying a few pewter miniatures to test paints on before painting up a metal tree for a particular Bones dragon, just to make sure I don't accidentally screw it up. So here are my first two metal minis and I think they turned out well. This is the Hawkman, friend of mine suggested that I should paint him up like a raven and thought "Oh hey, that's a cool idea" then half way through I was like "WHY DO I KEEP FORGETTING HOW HARD BLACKS ARE TO PAINT". Though it was a learning experience that helped me practice a few things. I even added a tiny bit of silver to a separate plot of black paint for the beak so I could get that shiny look on it. Also getting the hang of painting capes and getting the nice lighting effect on them with lightly thinned down paints. This was the Opposum Druid that I had to get after seeing her. She normally has three kids, I might paint up the other two but for now I prefer her like this with her one kid swinging about on that staff. I based the colors off of a possum character off of a webcomic because I liked the comic and I'm not terribly creative when coming up with color schemes.
  7. The only reason I painted this guy was because I was curious if he was supposed to have a lot of fur on him or not and I couldn't find any pictures of it painted so I decided to heck with it and see what he'd look like if it was all skin and the fur was kind of 'stretched' off from his growing bulk of sorts. Kind of the only reason why I'm showing it off is because I haven't seen anyone else paint one of these guys so maybe you can learn from my mistakes. I also got some Army Painter brushes in the mail and decided to give them a test run with some of the details.
  8. 02880: Lion Man THE WIP: 02880: Lion Man Brothers Of Tooth And Claw Sige -------- Barton -------- Pa'oul -------- Dagmar Dust of the Colosseum – Part 4 The captain of the guard stopped in front of the entrance, “The time has come to fight again Barton,†glancing up from his chair Barton nods and replies, “Yes I know.†In the corner of the room sat an elder lion, Barton’s great uncle. After staring down the captain as he left the elder lion grumbled at Barton, “Do you? Because you seem to wait. Are you a scared cub again?†Withdrawing a stone from his blade and standing up barton replied, “Quiet you old fool,†howling the elder lion chimes in return, “Ahrrrr, in my day we use to rush to the battle.†Barton replies, “Yes and in your day you use to eat cubs and your generation died in the millions.†Satisfied that he silenced the old lion, the elder lion quickly fired back with a prideful grin, “True, but we were known as the most terrifying enemy in the land. Not even the king would dare challenge our people, NOW look at us, you’re his pet.†Continuing on his diatribe the elder lion walks over to Barton, placing a hand on his shoulder, “Why do you fight for this king? He is just using you.†Strapping his freshly sharpened sword to his hip Barton replies, “Because the money’s good and if I fight, he will kill our people last…†Silently they both acknowledged the horror that rest in front of their people. “…Barton, may the prophets guide you†__________________________________________________________________ [This guy got 3rd place in a small reaper forums painting contest. I'm very proud. :) ]
  9. 03190: Blacktongue, Gnoll Ranger By John (Tre) Manor The WIP: 03190: Blacktongue, Gnoll Ranger Brothers Of Tooth And Claw Sige -------- Barton -------- Pa'oul -------- Dagmar Dust of the Colosseum - Part 3 I was sitting on the opposite end when he sprinted to a stop after the gates rose. Before the dust could settle he was already reaching for an arrow. We had never seen a beastman archer before but then again no one had ever seen what had happen that day. That bow of his, black as night. They say it was made from the root of the elder tree in the Nether forest. But I think it was his eyes that capture the attention of the crowd; piecing ebony stare. After he let fly his first arrow the crowd yelled out his name, “SIGE, SIGE, SIGE!†The sound of his arrows screaming across the battleground made him a crowd favorite. It was truly freighting to think of an entire pack of these fellows hunting you. Name prononcation: [siig] like signature _____________________________________________________________ *White balance only* Thanks for all the encouragement. I feel the force growing in me! How does everyone feel I am progressing? C&C Welcome!
  10. 02785: Sabertooth Tiger Man The WIP: 02785: Sabertooth Tiger Man Buckler and base Conversion for the Sabertooh Tiger Man Brothers Of Tooth And Claw Sige -------- Barton -------- Pa'oul -------- Dagmar Dust of the Colosseum - Part 2 The bars of the gate… blood stained: What they hold back is The Dagmar of the Jungle. Four guards stand in wait for the signal. Spears trained on the beast, none of them will be lazy again after the last time. In his cell The Dagmar stood trying to talk to his guard, “Why are you watching over me?†The guard’s eyes glanced toward the naked beast man. “No answer… I’veff had many of dayss in the bloods of my enemiess, today I'm bound to destroy peoples I do not knows… Grind-my-tooths, this’s not honorable, not best for anyone but this king… Blahh! I swear upon my brethren I will see my tooth an' claw upon his fresh beating heart!†The guards glance turned into rage. Pressing into the bars the guard rattled the cage out of anger over the words spoken about his king. “That is the King of… AHhh gahh," taking advantage of this opportunity, Dagmar reached with both hands grabbing the guard. In one swift movement the guards head was sheared off from his body and his abdomen splayed open. Standing behind the bars Dagmar leans into his stance every muscle tense for the trumpets call. The spears of the guards ticking the fur on the beast man’s back... _____________________________________________________________________________________ This Buckler is my first attempt at free hand. It is suppose to match the design on the hilt of the sword. The face is a new endeavor as well: Those are Whiskers... from my own hair. What do you'll think, yah or nah? I was particularly proud of the wet blending on the fur. I would really enjoy hearing back from you guys about ways to improve. C&C Welcome! :) :) :)
  11. Uskuluz Greyhide THE WIP: 14455 Uskuluz Greyhide "When you crawl upon a deep dungeon be weary of the Greyhide troll. The evil he summons will shake you to your bones. Atop his staff is a creature of the dark spawn legion; an insect of time long past. Adorn upon him are relics and rings of curious adventures... Do no go looking for the Greyhide and do not have your thoughts dwell on him... He will summon you and with a maddening fury you will seek him..."
  12. Werebear The WIP: 02753: Werebear Brothers Of Tooth And Claw Sige -------- Barton -------- Pa'oul -------- Dagmar Dust of the Colosseum - Part 1 The chants echo through the under belly of the Colosseum, “Pa’ oul, Pa’oul, Pa’oul.†The great bear from the Iron Forest, his legend is known through the region as The Breath. Mothers would warn their children, “If you ever find yourself in the Iron Forest be weary of The Breath, it’s the last thing you will see or feel before your death.†The cautionary tale seems harsh to those that know of the great deeds of Pa’oul the Guardian of the Hills of Iron. But now he stands waiting to be push into the ring to kill for the entertainment of the King of the West… *You stand at the gate, peering through the bars and focusing your attention on Pa’oul. He stairs you down and roars at you. Your soul quivers.* ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

  17. 77138 Treasure Pile. I welcome comments on how to improve what I've done here. I love it but I'm sure there's things I don't know to look for that I have therefore missed. I've heard of non-metallic metallics. This is very shiny with all the metallic paint. Are non-metaliic metallics better? Is shiny good?
