As some of you know, @buglips*the*goblin and I paint some German Infantry of WWII for Warlord Games tabletop game Bolt Action - or another similar set of rules. You can find our WIP thread ->here<- But though the key to success is hard work, all good projects some when end somewhere. To celebrate this, we decided to set up a Show Off thread. So ... enjoy what we come up with until all of our Germans are painted ... (which will be in ten years or so) First off - the first 5 men of my winter unit. Enjoy More to come! @buglips*the*goblin You're next.

Yes! We can do it again! Let's make a tank! Let's make a beautiful tank! Once again, it's a diorama project based on a game scene, once again, it's Combat Mission. In this particular diorama, the commander of a Panzer III M is a reallylucky person. In a shootout during the Let's Play of German wargaming channel "TaktikfuchsTV", his Panzer III got hit around 20-25 times, prompting everyone to believe that this particular tank was dead. And I mean ... DEAD! But to everyone's surprise, the crew reentered the vehicle and drove away - going like: Here's the scene: Kauder reenters his tank (In German) So I got me a commanders figure and a tank ... First off, some pictures to see what this project will look like: So I got me a Panzer III from Tamiya and started to do some minor conversions ... and over the course of one afternoon, this vehicle was finished. I am really proud of those selfmade smoke launchers. The vehicle will be displayed with open hatches. That's a challenge due to the really lame interior, but that's not a problem. I'll use colors to make the less detailed parts dark and the detailed parts white - I hope that will work! Tomorrow I'll go over the armor and do the shell damages. The only thing I am not certain about is the frontal armor provided by the spare tracks. I don't know how those look when they are hit. They are pretty massive and I simply cannot imagine them looking the same way as a normal armor plate when hit. I've got to dig deeper into it.

Hello everyone, A new piece of work. This time it's a WWII themed diorama, 1/72 scale (which makes around half the size of a 28mm figure. The diorama itself has around the size of two smartphones. The whole project is my entry to a painting competition in a German forum and the first finished work since February 2020 - so one year ago. The main model, PzKpfw IV Ausf. J, is almost 25 years old. I got this model when I was a kid, and I painted it thickly using email colours, but I never assembled it. Last August, when I moved, I found the model and gave it an overhaul, and when February arrived, I took my time to paint it, do the figures and the diorama. As always: If you like what you see, and you have nothing more to say, leave a like as a nod to my participation in the forums. I don't need "nice", "cool", "excellent" or "awesome", because those words are used way too frequently to mean anything. // // When I have got time, I need to get some plywood to cover the outside of the diorama, but, to be honest - I am way too lazy to do it now. lol. Check my Instagram page for other work, if you like: https://www.instagram.com/sistermarynapalm/

This thread is something ... different from other works I have been done. I guess it's not entirely in accordance to the board rules, so you may forgive me and accept my humble bundle of roses, choclate and other stuff that will easy your severely upset minds. When I am in the mood, I am doing so many speed builds up to the point of painting (means assembly, basing and priming), that making them all into different threads I would flood the forum with an unnecessary number of threads. So I will keep this limited to the building process of my different tabletop figures, armies and stuff and transfer the finished figures to their respective painting threads. What's on the table at the moment? Watchful I Studios 28mm Chinese Army Deal (around 100 figures and equipment) Warlord Games 56 Soviet Russians (winter) (making M into F) Raging Heroes Sisters of Eternal Mercy: 10x Sisters and 10 Flying Sister plus some support units Andrea Miniatures 1x Female Warrior (upgrading her to be a Chinese Warrior Woman) Creature Caster 1x Tree Walker Flames of War Fallschirmjäger-Kompanie + Support Weapons 4x Battlefront StuG 3G 1x Plastic Soldier Company StuG 3G Corvus Belli A lot of Aleph miniatures What's done and ready to be painted? Hello everyone, Some of you already know my Roza Shanina build (Check here ->Let's present ... Roza Shanina<-) and my Russian tank commander and tank rider build (Check here ->Painting female Soviet tank commanders and tank riders<-) and some might have noticed the little glimpse of what I was working on at the headswap topic (check ->here<-). But now it is time to present the project as a whole. Whoever is interested in the background of the project might find an answer in this post ->here<- So, let's get started. As at the the time I started the project my sculpting skills were far inferior to what I am able to do today, I needed some plain surface for sculpting female attributes onto the body. Luckily Warlord Games had just released a number of Soviet Russians in winter clothing, so I took the opportunity to get me a box of them and started working. Unfortunately the heads I wanted to use were unavailable so I began working on the bodies alone. Not a problem for me. I am running around headless most of my time, so I know what I am doing. After having cut out and cleaned the bases, it was time to go onto the bodies. Using some greenstuff it was rather easy to make males into females. And luckily there are a lot of reference pictures of real female soldiers in WWII. Yeah - well. Those who know me know that I normally reject reality and substitute my own. Therefore - mixed real and anime approaches to make the girls visually appealing on a greater distance. Time to dry!

And here we go again. I never get tired trying out new stuff and doing multiple projects at the same time. The idea for this one approached me when I watched a Let's Play series by German Let's Player "DerHobbygeneral", who playes complex strategy games on PC. That certain series was a mission in the strategy game "Combat Mission: Red Thunder", a game set on the Eastern Front of WWII. The mission is the recreation of the tank battle between German and Russian forces in the opening hours of Operation Bagration, the Soviet 1944 summer offensive that managed to crush the German Central Army and push the Germans back to the borders of East Prussia. Combat Mission itself is a really complex game, simulating not only realistic projectile trajectories, armor and penetration calculation, but also randomly generating names for unit leaders and therefore emotionally connecting the player to his - or her - units. One of these commanders was Unterfeldwebel Austermann, commandeering a Kpfw V Panther A, and throughout the game one of the main factors in stopping the Soviet tank assault at Studienka. The player and all commentators remarked on his excellent performance in the game and he became something like a meme. There were even suggestions of making a compilation of his best actions as some kind of memorial service in case he bit the dust. And actually, a few episodes later, the Panther got hit a couple of times and was rendered inoperable. A shell even penetrated the front armor. While the battle for Studienka was raging, everyone focused on the question if Austermann and his crew would survive. And they did! What a remarkable turn in events! But I felt bad for the Panther, which was left behind. Here's the scene - it's in German, unfortunately. https://youtu.be/EJfQAVfhEoc?list=PLa3dxHLq2CvZBNhkqqaTX7jvSe7iOUjTj&t=752 Then it struck me that maybe Austerman felt bad, too, and when I saw a certain figure on a miniature shop website, I KNEW I was going to make a diorama about it. So I bought a couple of figures and a cheap old Panther A kit and ... now I am on a new project again - YAY! I haven't decided which crew I take. I like both sets, but I guess I will go with the Dragon set. The other set can be used for a different project. But I guess, I will see once the overall layout is set. Let's go!

Wololo! Haven't posted this little project here until now, because I was too lazy to translate it and on top of that not sure if it was too much skin or not enough, so I first had to browse through other pieces of KDM work to check if it was okay. Found the exact same picture of one of my references, so I thought: Okay - I can try to translate it now. After my surprisingly effective try to paint skin on this fellow (check ->here<-) I thought: Why not try and replicate the result on another figure. So I browsed through my pile of shame and found a KDM miniature with barely any clothes on her. So I thought: What perfect way to train smooth transitions. So after wiping off the dust and priming her ... I started working on the base layers and first shadows. After I had applied some more shadows and highlights, I noticed I had defined the thin red line between the muscles of her thigh a bit too strong ... And in the process of painting her feet, I somehow lost her toes - Oh, my god! So while I was working on the other parts of her body and slowly building up the paint, I tried to work on her right thigh and on her right foot and get back the definition of the toes. So after a full day of recovery operations, I finally had a look at my corrections and was surprised ... In the end I had undone all my previous work and recreated the wrong transition ... But I found the toes! Yay! The outlining was a bit too strong, so I had to correct that as well ... But I managed to make her skin surprisingly smooth. In the end, I had to repaint the whole muscle section I worked on for a long time. But now she's got beautiful buns and thighs buns and thighs Time for me to map out the other body parts ... making progress. Wonderful! And while I am fighting her skin, Rhini took a reference book for NMM (In German, I used this to joke about metal painting rhinos - but unfortunately this only work in German) But ... to be honest. I have no idea how I have to paint her dagger. I really don't know. I've got to think about it. I've painted NMM only once - it was okay, but not enough to make me feel safe doing it. Well ... we will see.

So, after quite some time, it's time to present some minis again. This time it's a group of Forge Worlds Death Korps of Krieg soldiers. Those are a few prototype miniatures for a friends Imperial Guard army. If he likes the paintjob, we'll do them all in this pattern. Oh, yeah - and just in case anyone goes "nice" or "awesome" or "excellent" again - HE'S WATCHING YOU. If you really don't have got anything else to say, leave me a "like" instead. I take a "like" as a nod to my participation in this forum. A "nice" is getting me nowhere. So long.

I hope it's acceptable I post this here. All of us are double-crossed from time to time. Life is mean. Life is hard. In my case, it was later. To be precise: Late enough so I couldn’t do anything against it anymore. I have been a fan of the Kingdom Death minis ever since I knew they existed. I love the anime design and the anime poses and … errr … kyonyuu. Anyway: Some time ago I came to know that I could buy single figures instead of the whole bunch and a friend, who owns REAL Kingdom Death minis – and I mean the old resin ones, not the new hard plastic stuff – recommended me to buy some to see if I would get along with the tiny and breakable resin bits. So I said yes. Did it. Went to EBay and checked. Hell, were they expensive. I was so disappointed and stopped looking, but a few days later I got some miniatures recommended and went back to EBay finding Kingdom Death Minis for a reasonably low price. The seller had mainly perfect reviews and just a few mentioned “recast” and said, that there is nothing special about it. So I thought: Ah, those have to be the recasts my friend spoke of. Yeah. But the recast he meant was a new batch of KDM figures – not piracy ones. I have to admit: I didn’t check it. I bought five figures. 25 Euros, no shipping costs and when they arrived, the first impression was great. I was impressed … until I tried to assemble the first one and her parts crumbled underneath my fingers. I went to my friend and showed him the figures. He told me the whole thing and I was pissed. Especially because conducting a reverse transaction in such a case in Germany can be … weird some times. Not enough damage done … can’t do anything … on your own … much more money and time lost … I had that before. So I took it as “lessons learned” and put those figures away, buying the hard plastic ones from KDM Website instead … But that’s another story. A few days ago I was at hangout with the lovely, wonderful and talented @Cyradis (of course not as lovely, wonderful and talented as I am, but still a great person) and she suggested something to me I had lost over the pressure of the last few years of trying to get back into painting: Do something I like and enjoy. Maybe something that doesn’t mean much to me but is perfect for getting back into painting and all that stuff. (Something I try since two years and normally always get the same, NOT HELPFUL reactions of either practice more or take a break ... ). And when I went to my new apartment and unpacked all the miniatures there, I finally found those few figures. They were cheap, they wouldn’t be much of a loss if something went wrong, but most of them were damaged or unfished. So I thought: Why not make something out of them … creat something new. That moment it struck me: I had been a fan of the NieR franchise and last year in Japan I bought some of the Artworks of NieR: Automata. So I went through those and checked on the internet, deciding, I would make some RPG miniatures out of them … YorHa style. Well then … Let’s start!

And now for something completely different. Normally, I post figures (or I rather try to post some figures), but this time, it's a bit bigger. My "longtime" WIP is done (you can find her in my "Speed-build"-Thread. Check out ->here<-) This project started as a commission. A colleague of mine was in the navy back in the days, and she was on board of the Karlsruhe when the vessel still was in service. When she left the ship, her comrades gifted her a model - but, as she is no model builder, the box was laying beneath some shelves never to be assembled - that is, until my colleague found out I had done model kit assembly for like 20 years or so. So she gave her precious kit to me - and I foolishly took it, believing the vessel and I could make love, not war. The kit intended otherwise though and that made my journey a rough voyage. When I started in February 2018, I didn't believe it would be a ride like this. I fought my way through glue, colors, sweat, tears and blood (literally). I think up to this date, this was THE most difficult kit I ever had to make. This old lady by far resisted every building step I made - and even after finishing her I had so many problems holding her together that I am glad I am done now. Anyways - it was a great experience and I learned a lot of things - especially regarding weathering and diorama building and I value what I learned. Thanks to everyone who followed my building progress and commented. I guess I wouldn't have finished her otherwise. Enjoy the pictures:

And I am done. One day before I'll leave for Japan, the small diorama is finished. Find the WIP ->here<- As always, the whole "competition" consisted of a painting and a small text. I tried to translate the original text to English, so if there are mistakes ( I am sure there will be) feel free to correct me. Once again, I had my troubles, and I am not satisfied with the faces and my overall painting style - but ... some progress at least. Enjoy the pictures, feel free to comment, but - as always: If you have got nothing else to say than "nice" or "good", leave a like instead. I take the like as a nod to my participation in this forum, but a "nice" is getting me nowhere. DEATH ON THE ROAD "Grandfather,"; Susan said in a stern voice that sounded both accusing and demanding. "Would you tell me what you're doing here?" The skeleton in front of her, wrapped in a night black robe, halted his two-wheeled vehicle, magically composed of stones, bones and all sorts of other utensils, and placed one of his bony feet on the ground. "IT IS A . . . TRAVEL", Death clarified, nodding as if he wanted to add weight to his statement. "WITH BAG AND BAGGAGE." The fact that he did not speak, but that his voice manifested itself in Susan's mind like an existing being, couldn't drive away the confusing thoughts swirling in her mind. "Grandfather"; she noted after looking at the rear shelf of the magic two-wheeler and discovering that it consisted of a series of large feathers, the sole purpose of which was to hide the magic underneath from the watchful eyes of reality, "but you did not take anything with you." Death followed her gaze, then he pondered for a while. Finally he shrugged his shoulders - which looked quite unique under the leather jacket thrown over his frock. "I TRAVEL WITH LIGHT LUGGAGE. YOU KNOW, I DON'T NEED MUCH." That didn't impress Susan, either. "And what's the purpose of the rose?"; she asked, pointing to the little plant that was stuck between his teeth caught in a scary smile. "THE ROSE IS A SYMBOL FOR ROMANCE"; Deaths voice continued in her head. "AND THE SELLER TOLD ME, THIS . . . VEHICLE IS LIKE AN EXPRESSION OF ROMANCE, AS WELL." Susan sighed. "And you thought that doing it this way would bring you closer to the mood?". Her voice changed back to that of a governess. "Grandfather, don't you think you're exaggerating?" "NO, WHY?" "You are Death. The Grim Reaper." She waved her arms. "You walk around with your scythe and an hourglass and separate the souls of the dead from their bodies. You can't just take a vacation. Not even for what you call 'a road tour'." "JUST FOR A WHILE. IT'S A ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME-CHANCE", Death returned. It almost sounded pleading. Of course, that was nonsense. Death was the end.. Neither did he need a once-in-a-lifetime chance, nor did he need 'a while'. Sometimes, however, Susan wanted it think, that there was more behind his bluish glowing eyes than a . . . what did he call it? Oh yes: anthromorphic personification. Like he was . . . mortal. Affected by all those flaws, desires and dreams that also drove her around. "WHICH REMINDS ME", Death interrupted her thoughts, letting his scythe appear in his bone hand. "THIS WILL HINDER MY STEERING. COULD YOU HOLD IT FOR ME FOR A WHILE?" Before thinking, the girl accepted the cutting tool she had been given and looked at the bluish shimmering blade. "Grandfather"; she began again, this time much more hesitantly. "WELL THEN"; Death said as if he hadn't heard her words. "I'LL BE BACK SOON." Following these words his wondrously soundlessly booming vehicle sprang to life. He drove off. Susan looked after him for a while until she felt a movement in her leg. The Death of rats looked up to her, a miniature scythe in his small, bony paws. Loud, incomprehensible squeaking echoed across the plain. It wasn't long before a feathered shadow landed in the trees off the cobbled road Susan had met her grandfather on. Quoth, the raven, constant companion of the Death of rats and sometimes also its translator, bent down from the branches and began translating. "You have his scythe, therefore you must also fulfill his duty!" Susan looked up and realized. She turned around. "Grandfather!" In the distance, the sound of Death's silent vehicle faded.

This will be the Terrain build-up thread for the Valkyria Chronicles scenario I am creating here: Let’s Make … Gallia to Arms! A 20mm Valkyria Chronicles Scenario I wanted to create a double effect with the terrain. On one hand, my goal was to recreate the atmosphere that Valkyria Chronicles radiates, this special kind of game and anime combination that made the game's artstyle so unique. On the other hand I was aware that there is some difference between the view the player in VC has on the units and terrain and the view a player has on a board game. So I decided to mix the overall design with the art style of the original Blitzkrieg strategy game. Well then - gehen wir's an!

Hello everyone, And welcome to my weathering class. No. Not WEATHER - WEATHERING. So more like this: After having worked on some vehicles for quite some time and having recently finished some tanks in winter camouflage (check out ->here<-, ->here<- and ->here<-), I was asked to do a tutorial and explain some weathering techniques. That said, I have to be honest and want to make clear that I LOVE to overdo it, so that things pop out on the table. If that's too much for you, you need to adjust on your vehicles and stuff accordingly. As it is hard to give an overview over the topic of weathering and find THE solution to all the different approaches of aging a vehicle, house or other mechanical thing, I will use different vehicles and techniques and explain everything in order for every vehicle I work on - so maybe a technique that suits you won't be done in the first tutorial, but in a later work. So please be patient. First off: If you want to see some people doing great stuff with different models and weathering techniques, check out these channels on Youtube: ->Plasmo - Plastic Models<- ->Andy's Hobby Headquarters<- ->Doctor Fausts Painting Clinic<- ->Laser Creation World<- They may answer some questions you have and provide in-depth sight into the process of weathering a vehicle or building (which means: this tutorial is basically meaningless - haha) Anyway: Let's get started! When @buglips*the*goblin and I did our German Infantry thread - check out ->here<-, which resulted in the presentation of our figures ->here<-, @Glitterwolfasked for some vehicles. As I regularly work on vehicles on my Speedbuild thread - check out ->here<- I thought it might be a good idea to show what's coming out of it. So - here's some steel in between naked and half-naked girls, fantasy figures and dragons. German StuG III, used for Bolt Action (28mm) German PzKpfW V Panther, used for Bolt Action (28mm) More vehicles once they are finished. If wanted, I can also do a tutorial on different weathering techniques. And even if not - enjoy my work, leave like or comment if you have got anything you want to get off your chest - but please - no "nice" or "cool". Those one-liners are really not helpful.

A new contest, a new entry. I am pretty late this time, but I am used to work under dire conditions. At least it's a way to get rid of my miniatures, isn't it? For this painting challenge, our topic is "Animals in War". My entry will include: a baboon a wall ... and, of course ... Aehm ... Rhini? Maybe from a bit further away? Thank you ! A Kingdom Death miniature. Let's see where this will end.
-
Well then ... it's done! We ... are done. After a rather short ride, I finally arrived at the end. Five minutes before lock-down I handed in my "Animals in War" painting challenge entry. As always, it consists of a small background story, together with a more or less well painted miniature. Find the WIP ->here<- I am not all to happy with it, I could have done a lot better, but it's okay. And in the end, I messed up the pictures as well. The good thing is: I could have done worse. *sigh* But well - can't help it. So, here she comes. I tried to translate the original text to English, so if there are mistakes ( I am sure there will be) feel free to correct me. As always: Feel free to comment, but if you just want to say "nice" or "cool", leave a like instead, because I value those as a nod to my participation in the forums. I really don't need "cool"s or "nice"s. The Light Fantastic She sat by the wall, held her breath and listened. After a while, the tripping of many feet broke through the silence. Carefully the warrior woman looked up. She expected to see the enemy's face at any moment. But nothing like that happened. Instead, she could hear a voice, sending shivers down her spine. A calm, mocking pronunciation, unmistakable and probably unique in the world. "Hey, Evi," the unknown speaker shouted, "You can show yourself. I know you're out there." She took a deep breath, smiled grimly and pressed the lamp tighter to her chest. Yes, of course. He knew. He wasn't stupid. Quite the opposite. He was very intelligent - considering the fact he was a baboon. Call it arrogance, but it had been a mistake of the humans to believe monkeys to be of lower intelligence. It was the humans who were stupid. I renewed attempts, the succeeded in raising the intelligence of the primates to a level that even they could not reach. Made a joke about it - called them "Spartavians". Until that day, when the monkeys founded the SAS, the Special Ape Service, and began to overrun the human centers of civilization. The humans had no chance against the highly gifted animals - and soon they found themselves in a Stone Age created by the primates. All in the name of nature. But Evi was not willing to give all the power to the very hairy attackers. "Come out, come out, wherever you are! What is it? Have you lost your voice?," the Spartavian asked. She looked at the lantern in her hand. The light was dim, it's flame almost extinguished. It had used up most of its fuel over the long time of her mission. She sighed, then took a deep breath and turned the handle - which actually was an ignition mechanism. It clicked into place. A crunchy sound appeared. Suddenly, the light flickered as if it had just been supplied with new life energy. Evi counted quietly to three, rose up a little and threw the lantern as high as she could over the wall. With an almost inaudible noise the explosive disappeared from her field of vision. Nerve-shattering heartbeats later the clapping sound of two hands catching an object sounded. "But ... that's a lantern! I always wanted to have one like that"; the monkey remarked enthusiastically. "Wonderful! It will make a great addition to my front doo ..." A hollow bang cut off his last words. Slowly the warrior woman rose from her hiding place, wiping her mouth and nose. She breathed theatrically before addressing the just blown-up enemy. "Yippieyayeh! ape-face," she spat towards the quickly evaporating cloud of smoke. "Evi!" With a weak plop, similar to the distant bursting of a synapse, Evi returned to reality and looked up. The baboon on the other side of the fence stared at her with a mentally deranged look, then shrugged his shoulders and turned away. "Evi! I don't like it when you play around in front of the monkey house," Mama said sternly. "What will the neighbours think of use, when they see you talking to baboons?" "Child, you have too much imagination," Grandma said laughing before turning to Mama. "Maybe she should watch less television?" "I'll suggest it to Harold," Mama nodded and took her daughter away from the monkey cage. "But now we're going to the saltwater aquarium." "Saltwater? Are there any sharks?" the girl asked hopefully. "Sharks?" Mama laughed. "No. But little whales." The girl's eyes widened. "Whales?" she asked in disbelief. A small puddle in front of them started to move. At first the water only seemed to vibrate, rippled and splashed quietly, then it exploded into a fountain. A huge humpback whale emerged from the seething floods and crashed onto the floor slabs of the path. The huge monster crawled towards them on its pectoral fins, the remains of an arm hanging out between bloody, shredded baleen plates. "Hello Evi," the scarred monster greeted her with a sinister pirate voice. "I have learned how to eat meat." The warrioress Evi pulled her knife out of the sheath. A light smile crept on her lips, waited there for a moment and vanished, making room for an answer that you could only expect from any good warrior. "And I know how to fillet fish." ->Linked because of nipples!<-

And we are done. My work for a painting competition at the German wargaming forum. Topic: Fairytale-like. WIP check ->here<- As with my girl in a dying world (check ->here<-), the whole thing consists of a background text and the paintjob. Enjoy. NOCH EIN BIER Near the town you’ll find Gwen’s bar, Where people meet from near and far A girl is sitting at the desk Blonde is her hair, ample her chest A mug of Gwen’s finest ales She does not drink, rather inhales. Near the town down at the floor The first of Gwens guests feel quite sore The girl now sits on top a tun Her evening starts, she has got fun She drinks like there is no tomorrow Her liver stricken with much sorrow. Near the town you hear the clock “It’s half past one – tick-tock, tick tock!” The girl just changed to honey wine Because she thinks “that’s also fine.” Her cheeks have turned from pale to red And still she’s not going to bed. The night finally settled down At Gwen’s bar close to the town The girl is snoring on top the tun This evening sure was real fun Her consciousness is now on strike Soon she’ll wake up fairytale-like. And here she is: And some over-highlighted pictures to show what the colours look like when looking closely. But from a bit of a distance, it's okay.

Some time ago I bought this figure in a sale at German shop battlefield berlin. I never really intended to paint this figure. It was ... to buy something that was cheap. But recently I had so much pain assembling and painting vehicles and miniatures that I just started working on this one as some kind of desperation. I mean ... I cannot ruin something that I never intended to do. To my own surprise this one came out quite well. As of now it's - I think - the best one of my figures since ... almost 2 years now. To be honest - I have no idea what I did there and I think I couldn't recreate it on another figure. But that's okay. I am satisfied with it. Now it's just the boots and the sword and the belt left. So ... let's get to my second nemesis right after paint skin tones: NMM. I have no idea how to do that. Any advice on good video tutorials which I can have a look at? And I mean tutorials, not "This is the beginning .... and this how it looks when it's finished." Anyway - that's the figure so far:

Well, after quite a lot of chaos, construction and unmotivated explosions, Zetta is finally finished. Check WIP ->here<-. She is my first finished figure in over two years, and I am happy she turned out the way she did. I am not so happy with her face. I messed it up in the end pretty badly, and I am disappointed - but it can't be helped. Therefore, I finished her before I could do a lot more damage. Thanks again to @Xiwo Xeraseand @Cyradisfor the help. That's the kind of help I was looking for. (oh, yes - and thanks to @Silvervane, who was once again made into a group of houses for the purpose of having an epic name for some backyard village - lol. Sorry :-D) Anyways - I handed her in for the current painting contest called "Bounty Hunter", at a German forum, which requires the maker to create a story and the figure. We will see how it turns out. For a complete presentation, I tried to translate the text into English. I hope I did it mostly correctly, as this was my first unassisted translation of a longer text since 2016 or so. You are absolutely free to correct me if you wish to, but I guess - except for this forum - no one else will read the English version. Thanks again and enjoy.

As my first airbrush attempt on the Roman centurio was halted by the fact that the figure is so small, I decided to use a different figure, which would be ... bigger. So in Japan I got me a number of garage kits. One of them was a figure of a nun or mage (I don't know the figure, so I have no idea) and as it was some kind of a miscast or so, I got it for the cheap price of around 6 Euro. She's big enough to do some airbrush work. And as I want to train airbrushing, I don't want to ruin my first attempt by choosing wrong colours or too difficult painting concepts. Therefore: YOU CAN CHOOSE THE COLOURS! NO! I really mean it! Gimme some colours, people. Oh, yeah - That's the figure:

Salvete, Amici! Phew ... some time since I wrote that last time ... haha! Well then: Time to feel the might of the Roman Legion, the breast best army of ancient Europe! I planned to be abscent from painting for some time more, but it happened that I got a more or less good reason to start again. A friend of mine who I have known for quite some time now - he is one of the master minds behind some of the Gallia to Arms builds - I decided to make a little present for him. Anyway ... this guy is a great fan of the Roman legion and he even has an 28mm Roman army. He is creating his army a bit in the style of an Asterix Roman army, having bought some of the characters and using them in his force. But he still misses a force commander - and that is where I come into play. On the last Tactica wargaming event, I got a female Roman centurion from the Hot&Dangerous brand and I immediately thought what a great force commander she would make. Alea iacta est! I don't know what would be a better fit - his birthday or christmas - but I can decide that when I am as far as I want to be. But I will not only give the figure to him. Nah - I think this is a great opportunity for me to get back into painting. So I used my social skills to ask about some of his concepts and I think now I have got a good idea of what I have to do. And now it is time to MAKE A GREAT PRESENT AGAIN! Those are all the parts I have got. The lady can either use a mirror or her helmet to check her hair. Really now? I mean ... use one or the other? Nah. Not with me. She will use the mirror, but I will put the helmet in front of her and cut away her arm, so that all parts are on the base. And now for some basing! Valete!

Hello everyone, Once again I am starting a new project. To not disturb the continuation of the story, I put the remarks and so on into spoiler boxes. Thanks to @malefactusand @Silvervanefor supporting my idea and providing first feedback, Thanks to @Glitterwolfand @Cyradisfor further support And to @OneBoot, @buglips*the*goblin and @Chaoswolf for listening to my first attempt. Without further ado – let’s go! Chapter I The story of a village begins A girl heads out for adventure Once upon a time there was a village named Silvervane, founded on the edge of a rich silver deposit. Everyone thought that this small and obscure town would soon rise to glory and greatness. A place where to all of the Earth’s kindred would pilgrim. A center of commerce and diplomacy for a quarter of a million humans and creatures from all over the world. It was not long after this promising beginning, that the Imperial Academy of Land Surveillance measured the true size of the deposit and issued a report to the Imperial Throne, stating that the natural resource was of no significance for the great needs of the country. This country, as we will soon learn, was called Cyradis and its ruler, the Crimson Empress, decided the fate of Silvervane. The anticipated Great Silver Rush never happened and therefore Silvervane fell into the dark, bitter maw of oblivion. Soon, the village was of no importance anymore and its residents – all the people who didn’t want to leave or couldn’t go – had to adapt with their new situation. Being isolated by great forests to the west and the south, a deep and stormy sea to the east and high mountains to the north, they were trapped, an enclave of human life in the middle of nowhere. It was no easy existence for those left behind. Land had to be taken from the Malefactus, the Evil Forest that bore all kinds of creepy creatures; weird trees and plants, armies of strangely talking mushrooms and other unspeakably fantastic and eerie beings. To counter the dreads of nature, the villagers hired warriors. Fine and athletic men and women with adventurer bodies, not those puppets or models one would expect in such a situation. No bodybuilders or mannequins. They were real and they were spectacular. Some of them were dressed in weird clothes though. Chainmail bikinis for example. But that is a fact we can ignore here as the really important values of a human being are the inner ones. One of those fighters was Sana, a young barbarian woman from the high north, who was very fond of her inner values. She had a great heart, and as great hearts need a lot of space, her chest was quite ample, too. On top of that, her liver … well … let’s forget about her liver. Originally Sana was supposed to be the main character of this record but due to her constant drunkenness, unbelievably violent and rude behavior and the fact that all sorts of people complained about her rather simple clothing, the Imperial Academy of Written Tradition and Oral Lore had to reassess the situation. Therefore she will not be participating other than as a secondary character. But: Sana had a daughter. Only the great gods know how that happened, but it did – around twelve years before the beginning of this piece of history. From her early ages on, Barbaria seemed to be a very energetic child. There and back again, she roamed the lands, wandering through the forests and the grasslands, exploring mountains and battling aggressive waves at the sandy beaches of the Sea of Lethe. Yes. Barbaria was always on the road. Standing still and waiting was not her thing. She couldn’t just sit in the tavern and drink until she fell asleep roaring like a copulating dragon – something her mother had mastered long ago. And so the girl once again headed out, taking one of the axes of Al, the old woodcutter (a really big tool of destruction measuring almost her own height and weighting approximately seven pounds) and leaving Silvervane for the sake of catching a Glitterwolf. No one had ever seen such a creature or even heard of it, but Barbaria was certain: the white cat behind the workshop of Sáthach, the weapons manufacturer, had told her the truth when she described the wonderful and shimmering fur of this specific animal. Al asked her to stop. “She is an untrustworthy missy”, he warned the girl. But Barbaria felt she was on the right track. So she encouraged the faith of the old man: “I’ll get him”, and left with the big shiny axe on her shoulder. Her long, blond hair, the last of her to be seen before she disappeared into the woods. And what happened there will be told in the next chapter. ***

After I started working on my Soviet Russian girls, I soon noticed that I missed some usable terrain. So it was time for me to start making some. I checked my stuff and ... unfortunately I didn't have got any usable terrain. But I had some 28mm Warhammer 40k barrels and boxes. So ... what to do with those? ... Luckily I am a person full of ideas and dreams and melancholy. So I remembered back in the days when I was young, I played a game called "Blitzkrieg". "Blitzkrieg" was a lovely game using a lovely graphic engine for displaying things. And they had this wonderful supply depot, which I think would be perfect First off I have have to prepare some boxes to later have a good foundation for the blanket. ... which ended in in looking like this: Time to paint!

Hey everyone, Here's a 20mm Qin Chinese sword fighter from Caesar miniatures, which I painted two years ago as a test miniature for a 20mm variant of Warhammer Ancient Battles - the project never really came to life, because then all my companions decided they didn't want to do it in 20mm anymore. I still have got a group of those ancient Chinese fighters, and this one is the best looking, I think (haha). Never got the NMM right, nor the real metallic (or what it is called), but I think he came out pretty decend with his head wound (which is a cover up of a missed seam line). Enjoy the pictures.
