  1. New Diehard KS Starts Tomorrow May 26th At 9am GMT Posted by Tim Prow May 25, 2022 View on Kickstarter Hi Folks, I'm proud to present Diehard Miniatures 8th Kickstarter which launches Thursday 26th May at 9am GMT! This campaign will allow Diehard Miniatures to expand upon our very popular Sci-Fi range, the aim is to bring 79 new figures including freebies out with your help! Our main drive in this campaign will have a good versus bad theme, and those that dwell in the grey area. Sci-Fi Law Enforcers will have a new limited edition figure, Marshal Lex is mounted on her Grav patrol bike. We are very lucky to have one of the last sculpts from our guest sculptor Kev White of Hasslefree fame!! We aim to fund: THIRTEEN new 5 man units - 65 new miniatures!! FOURTEEN free stretch goal miniatures - characters, familiars and droids. AND an opportunity to pick up existing units from the Diehard range that complement this release. This Diehard KS is slightly different from our previous campaigns, we will be dipping our toe into the realms of Freebies! A first for us and hopefully a fresh new experience for you, any pledges of £30 or above will automatically get freebies. The more backers and the higher the pledge the quicker the stretch goals will be unlocked to a maximum of £87 worth of freebies!! 2. Okay, inspired by a couple of guys who build cheap terrain for games, I hobbies around today with some throw out items, some 3D printed greebles and some cheap boxes from Hobby Lobby. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/99384-stargravefrostgravestarfinder-foldable-terrain/#comment-2074910
  3. Okay, with Reapercon coming up I will be running some Stargrave & Frostgrave games. So I have been in the position with transporting BOXES of minis and terrain before, and even though I have a truck, I thought that there might be an easier way to carry the stuff. Both of the 'Grave games are heavy terrain and while this is part of their charm, it will be much easier if I can limit the number of boxes going to Texas with me. Then the other day in Hobby Lobby, I was trying to figure out how to build this stuff, when I found their collapsed gift boxes. Perfect! And CHEAP! So I hit them with some variety of spray paint and then used the Plastic Mesh for windows after they dried. I am a bit concerned because I tried good old Elmer's Glue and I am not 100% confident in it's ability to work on the plastic of the mesh. So, everything is drying tonight and tomorrow will be the acid test when I try folding the boxes into their flat configuration. Anyway, here are the pics as I went along.
  4. Though I have no actual intention of playing until Quarantine 37 is released I went ahead and created a Stargrave crew. Initially this was only an excuse to start planning out the crew and maybe even finalizing a list/crew sheet. Once I had finished filling out the crew sheet however I couldn't help but notice that I probably had all the figures needed for this crew. A quick rifle through my backlog just confirmed my suspicion. Even more interesting though, at least for me, was the rediscovery that I don't own any unpainted Guardsmen with flamers. I had planned to paint one up specifically for this crew but it turns out I don't own any unpainted ones. So before the project even began I've already finished a miniature, talk about speed painting. Armed with the remaining nine figures I decided this would be a nice palette cleansing project. Oh yes, I actually made that joke. It also occurred to me that this would be a great project to try my hand at speed painting too. After a few years of debatably tabletop quality paintjobs I'm eager to see the results I can achieve when I'm trying to paint quickly. One quick note before jumping in, this single post condenses four nights of work all together. Back row from left to right: My Captain, First Mate, Gunner, Burner, Sniper, Grenadier, Runner 1, and Runner 2 Front row: Recruit 1, and Recruit 2 First up was my Captain who needed some conversion work. I'm not exactly worried about WYSIWYG for this particular batch but I figured my Captain deserved the extra "effort". That extra effort being laughable once you see it. A quick snip of the hand, a pin, and some glue completed the conversion. I'm not exactly big into converting but this may just be the lowest effort conversion I've ever done. Painting the Captain proved to be a little more involved but about half a session later I had a nearly finished miniature. The First Mate went even quicker as I chose to go with a limited color scheme. Next were my three remaining specialists. My Gunner like the Captain took about half of a painting session with the Sniper and Grenadier taking most of the remaining time. That bit of leftover time wasn't wasted though as Recruit 1 received most of its basecoat. My two recruits were finished pretty quickly during tonight's session. The Runners received most of their basecoat but I ended up running out of time tonight.
  5. I was considering running a game at Reapercon this year (assuming it happens). Is there interest in Stargrave as a convention event? Are other people planning on running the game at the convention? buckyball
  6. Assembled my crew and prepped and primed them. Two clopsen troopers, a lizardman recruit, sniper and another recruit/ chisler. A gnoll commando, medic and recruit, and a cultist recruit/hacker and trooper. Edit: It is a bit funny that My crew isn't using much of the actual Stargrave miniatures other than a few arms and guns, but then this is just the first crew, and I'll need some ruffians and pirates as well.
  7. Was trying to do some osl on one of the metal stargrave minis, I'm pretty sure he's a mystic
