  1. Before the known ages, the ancient gods, who were traveling through time and space, between galaxies and systems, between planets and moons, finally reached this small blue planet and its light gray moon. Millions of years ago, searching for the force on the dark side of this moon, they found the crystals that emitted enormous energy. They took it with them and returned to the blue planet. With the use of the power from other dimensions they try to warp the crystal and use it for their own dark plans. It quickly turned out that the crystal emitted too much power, a power that

  3. Presenting the Shrike Urchin, this sewer wader is part of Twisteds Dickensian faction. Really struggled with this one for some reason (the fact he's very unstable didn't help), but I think he came out okay. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  4. Deadlands is a series of Role Playing Games based around alternative history, with the major change taking place on July 3rd, 1863. This change, called The Reckoning, made the US Civil War grind to a halt, resulted in half of California fall into the sea, and had a new miracle substance called Ghost Rock revolutionize technology. The game has used different rules systems; including the original "classic" system, Savage Worlds, a new system that is/was releasing soon, a d20 conversion, and had a GURPS port. The Weird West - Beginning in 1876, players would wander around the Weird West, ful
  5. Presenting Little Dorothy, the fourth member and leader of the Oz gang from Twisted by Demented games. Wasn't as fun to paint as some of the others, but I think she turned out okay. As a bonus, here she is with Big Dorothy (The original version I painted a while ago):- Weirdly, they both ended up in the same colour dress despite not looking at Big Dorothy until I dug her out to take this piccy. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  6. Twisted are returning to Kickstarter soon, it's still in the teasing stage at the moment but there should be more details next week. Since their first Kickstarter wrapped up pretty dang late (even by usual Kickstarter standards), I'm hoping they've learnt a few lessons and keep this one fairly small and manageable.
  7. Presenting the Scarecrow, part of Dorothy's gang in the game Twisted by Demented Games. Had a lot of fun painting this one, I did have to leave out some of the finer details though, there's little, tiny stitches all over him that I could barely see never mind paint! As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  8. Presenting Sardar Hardit Singh, part of the crew of the Nautilus from the game Lost World Exodus by Warcradle Studios. Didn't achieve the Indian skintone I was aiming for, but it is some of my best skin painting, so I guess that sort of counts as a win? As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  9. As promised some months ago, I painted a wyrmgear like a circuit board :) Enjoy!
  10. This is a speed paint I did over the Fourth of July holiday weekend. I touched up a few details since then, like the buttons on his shirt.
  11. I was cleaning up behind my barn and found this half-buried in the dirt. Was just on the way to throwing it out when I just couldn't. So I washed most of the dirt off, and cut a base from scrap plywood I had, and away I go! I actually have a semi-solid plan. I want to knock this one out fast, first of all, so maybe it'll get done this year (ideally before spring or even March, but I know how things go). I want it to evoke a few things without quite indicating any of them. The Tyrell building from Blade Runner is a big one. The magitek factory from Final Fantasy VI is another. But I als
  12. Presenting the Artful Dodger, part of the Dickensian faction from the game Twisted by Demented Games. Not too happy with this one, he turned out to be surprisingly difficult to paint (and even harder to photograph!), but at least he's finally done (I partially painted up his resin version a few years ago). As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  13. (Completed pictures posted here: https://www.facebook.com/LansingDTryon/media_set?set=a.10207549347146592.1073741831.1077153135&type=3 ) Lord Andrew St. George, Barrister turned shipwright, ca 188--: Surveying a recovered steel hull from one of Her Majesty's Less Well-fated Projects: He has just received the daunting task of retrofitting the hulk for unobtanium-powered flight. It appears to have been a freighter of some sort. The traditional steam engines are not present, though plenty of mounting space exists for their addition. ...as well as a sizeable car
  14. Presenting 'Pop' Bodkin (From the game Wolsung by Micro Art Studio) father of Hazel Bodkin, he works in the same automaton factory as a maintenance engineer. Like many older, country born Halflings he hasn't got into the habit of wearing shoes, despite the near-constant danger of something heavy falling on his toes. Turned out to be a surprisingly characterful mini, so I had a lot of fun painting him. Still need to work on my stamped bases. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  15. Presenting Hazel Bodkin (She's from the game Wolsung by Micro Arts Studio), walking home from her shift at the new-fangled automaton factory, she always makes sure to carry her slingshot, just in case she runs into one of those ruffians who make a sport of tormenting the wee folk. Made a bit of a mess painting her boobs (it was harder to get a brush in there than I thought it would be) and I'm still not great at using my basing stamps, but overall I'm pleased with the result. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  16. A French battleship and destroyer, and a British cruiser in "tropical" colors. I really hope this game comes out of its coma someday...
  17. Presenting Pigsy, part of the Guild of Harmony faction from the game Twisted. Had a lot of fun painting this one, I was originally a bit worried by all the little details and layers of clothing but it wasn't a problem. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  18. Presenting the Scarab Mummy, a minion for the Egyptian faction in the game Twisted, he's a mummy that's been redesigned to have a more pleasing beetle theme (which I guess technically makes him more of a Flesh Golem). Had a lot of fun with this one, I'm still pretty bad at painting gems but I think I'm getting better. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  19. This project was initiated by a little failed experiment with 2 parts epoxy resin (for water effect) that snowballed into a completely unrelated diorama. I put a kelpie in a clear tube and poured epoxy resin on it. There were too many bubbles in it. But this reminded me of the round aquariums so often pictured in mad scientists’ lab. The closest mini for scientists I had, were 2 chronoscope Bones. The furniture and decor is a mix of handmade (foam, clay, random recycling), Boardgame spare pieces (Dungeon Saga) and Bones. C&C welcome.
  20. Presenting an Android Flower-seller, part of the Servants of the Engine faction in the Twisted game universe. Had a lot of fun painting this one, although given a second chance I probably would've given her brighter flowers, and luckily you can't see the terrible bit of mold slip going on across her bonnet from this angle. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  21. Presenting Cal and Aponne, an Ogre and Halfling duo working for the Scylla crime family faction in the (possibly defunct) game of Wolsung. Had this one sitting in The Cupboard of Unfinished ThingsTM at 75% done for about 3 years or so, so thought I'd get him finished while waiting for other things to dry. It also highlights how little my painting has improved over the years As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  22. Starting a new mini, called Blunderbuss, she's one of my many, many (many) Twisted Urkins I have left to paint. Made some progress today:- Painted her gas-mask, it's mostly Red Leather shaded with Brown Wash, but it's also got Iraqi Sand stitches, Bronze bits, Oily Steel bits and a 1:1 Magic Blue/Ghost Grey eye lens.
  23. This is Stonehaven's Half-Orc Mechanist, a nice little character for the more open-minded steampunk campaign. The quote in the title of the thread is from Gail Carriger, author of the "Soulless" steampunk series. I actually finished him around Christmas, but I never put up the Show Off thread. So here he is. Questions, critiques and comments welcome. WIP thread here.
  24. This is Stonehaven's Half-Orc Nobleman, another nice and eccentric steampunk character. The quote in the title of the thread is from Beau Brummell. Comments, etc. welcome. WIP thread here. This is all paint:
