  1. Presenting Agatha Christie, a member of the Egyptian faction in the game Twisted by Demented Games. She's slightly slanted (I think I've been attaching my minis to their bases before the Greenstuff fully dries, so they go a bit wonky when they set) and googly eyed (At a certain point you just have to stop fiddling with them!), but overall I'm really pleased with how she turned out. Just got to get her companion Mecha Poirot painted now. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  2. About what it says in the title. Junk to jewels! Took some little gumball-machine toy dispenser bubbles, some scrap bits, and some GW Bitz that my friendly l.g.s let me fish out of the Sprue Heap. The goal was to make some baroque domed aquaria in the steampunk and dieselpunk line--the sort you might see in a Hellboy comic or Victorian science fiction. One is good, but now I've got the urge to make more! This one used a Reaper base and a Wizkids base to make the stand. Some Ork canisters provided plumbing: They would be good museum pieces, space characters, or simply curiosities in The Fisherman's Rest: Next up: Bombshell brains and craft-store jewelry domes, plus a dollhouse candlestick and the Bitz to make a brain-in-a-jar!
  3. More of my backlog from summer. Vermina has a ton of detail, but it's hard to do grimy steampunk and make it all show up. I wanted to show her feminine and playful side so I started by making her clothing pink. She has rats around her feet and on her shoulder. I used this figure in a Shadowrun game as a street shaman. Always a few spots you missed that show up on camera afterward.
  4. Presenting Alfredo "The Dandy" Francini, a low level mobster with a love of brightly coloured clothes, he's part of the Scylla faction from the now defunct (I think) game Wolsung by Micro Arts Studio. This guy has been sitting in my 'to be painted' pile for far too long, so I worked on him for the last couple of weeks in between other projects. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  5. I went with saturated colors on this one. Enough of the black and brown, this Sascha is from a dimension where the future's so bright you gotta wear shades.
  6. Before the known ages, the ancient gods, who were traveling through time and space, between galaxies and systems, between planets and moons, finally reached this small blue planet and its light gray moon. Millions of years ago, searching for the force on the dark side of this moon, they found the crystals that emitted enormous energy. They took it with them and returned to the blue planet. With the use of the power from other dimensions they try to warp the crystal and use it for their own dark plans. It quickly turned out that the crystal emitted too much power, a power that did not harmonize with the forces of the Ancient One. The symbiosis caused conflict and damage to the ancients. The warped crystal had been abandoned by them here... and for millions of years, it had lain, covered by layers of earth and sand in the darkness and silence... Hi. Greetings from Andrzej (Ater), Jakub (MiniaturesArtTeam), and Pawel (PJG_sculptor). For some time we were working together on something on the side which finally became a big miniature project. We plan to put it together in a board-battle game! But let's take small steps and start gently. In our first project, we want to offer you some miniatures from the world which were shown to us in the dreams by one guy, who calls himself Cthulhu (we know... it is quite weird, but the dreams were really cool). Inspired by these visions, we create a new universe in the dark, steampunk/dieselpunk climate. Now we want to show you our project and we cordially invite you not only to participate in the project itself but also to create it. Please, share your thoughts and opinions with us! Please come closer, sit down and hear a story about the Crystocracy. Instagram Facebook Kickstarter
  7. Design Vehicle and Crew: Titanforge Design: Fleeing Vampire in Front : Arch Villain Games Design Hanging Corpse : Printed Obsession Design Church Ruins: Printed Obsession Fleeing Winged Vampire : Reaper Bones Vorvorlake SKU 50329 Graveyard Fence Part : Reaper Tombstones /Barrels/Books/ Weapons: Various. Printed on Elegoo Mars in Resin. Part of my Project Children of the Night. WIP HERE: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79298-children-of-the-night-by-glitterwolf/page/17/ ****************** Vampires roam the land, but fear not, there are those who dedicated their lives to exterminate them. Here we can see how Ernst Holtz and his crew hunt down the evil creatures who were hiding in an abandoned cemetary. Once nobles and commoners alike donated money to the Order of the Vampire Hunters, but since the Baron's son and his wife ruled the Barony the order was mocked. People no longer believed in the supernatural. Ernst suspected the Baron's son and his wife to be behind it but he couldn't prove it yet. When he heard rumours of vampires in the area he assembled his crew and took out the now rusty Dampfhammer. He would show them! He would capture one of those vile creatures and show it to the people, they would believe again! Once more the vile Undead would flee before him! And maybe he could find out why the Baron's son and his wife wanted to get rid of the Order.. *****************
  8. Presenting the Shrike Urchin, this sewer wader is part of Twisteds Dickensian faction. Really struggled with this one for some reason (the fact he's very unstable didn't help), but I think he came out okay. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  9. Deadlands is a series of Role Playing Games based around alternative history, with the major change taking place on July 3rd, 1863. This change, called The Reckoning, made the US Civil War grind to a halt, resulted in half of California fall into the sea, and had a new miracle substance called Ghost Rock revolutionize technology. The game has used different rules systems; including the original "classic" system, Savage Worlds, a new system that is/was releasing soon, a d20 conversion, and had a GURPS port. The Weird West - Beginning in 1876, players would wander around the Weird West, full of monsters, gunfighters, agents of the United States of America, Confederate States of America, the United Kingdom, the Empire of Mexico, the Dominion of Canada, and Lost Angels, might get involved in the Great Rail Wars, get lost in the Sioux Nations, or confront the creations of the New Science. The Wasted West - It's 2094 and the world is almost over. Irradiated Ghost Rock bombs, as well as conventional nuclear weapons, were dropped on major cities all over the globe. The east of the Mississippi river is full of the Walkin' Dead, the city of Lost Angels has fallen into the Pacific Ocean, and the only place where people can eek out a living is the west. Using Spook Juice, you can travel the collapsing highways from Junkyard to the ruins of Boise, and all points in between, traveling with Templars, Tellers, Cyborgs, Toxic Shamans, Sykers, and Junkmen. The Way Out West - The final part of the original trilogy of settings, this one is set on Banshee, the first alien world colonized by humanity. Of course, there were native people there first, and history has repeated itself again. Take up a badge and defend the colonists, or rob them instead, or maybe try to work with the natives, now that no one from Earth is coming to help. Ever. Deadlands: Noir - Set in the period between World Wars, centered around New Orleans, this was the first new game and first one done in the Savage Worlds system. So, I made this thread so folks could talk about games they're run/played, ask questions about the setting and system(s), or just share their love for the game.
  10. Presenting Little Dorothy, the fourth member and leader of the Oz gang from Twisted by Demented games. Wasn't as fun to paint as some of the others, but I think she turned out okay. As a bonus, here she is with Big Dorothy (The original version I painted a while ago):- Weirdly, they both ended up in the same colour dress despite not looking at Big Dorothy until I dug her out to take this piccy. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  11. Twisted are returning to Kickstarter soon, it's still in the teasing stage at the moment but there should be more details next week. Since their first Kickstarter wrapped up pretty dang late (even by usual Kickstarter standards), I'm hoping they've learnt a few lessons and keep this one fairly small and manageable.
  12. Presenting the Scarecrow, part of Dorothy's gang in the game Twisted by Demented Games. Had a lot of fun painting this one, I did have to leave out some of the finer details though, there's little, tiny stitches all over him that I could barely see never mind paint! As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  13. Presenting Sardar Hardit Singh, part of the crew of the Nautilus from the game Lost World Exodus by Warcradle Studios. Didn't achieve the Indian skintone I was aiming for, but it is some of my best skin painting, so I guess that sort of counts as a win? As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  14. As promised some months ago, I painted a wyrmgear like a circuit board :) Enjoy!
  15. This is a speed paint I did over the Fourth of July holiday weekend. I touched up a few details since then, like the buttons on his shirt.
  16. I was cleaning up behind my barn and found this half-buried in the dirt. Was just on the way to throwing it out when I just couldn't. So I washed most of the dirt off, and cut a base from scrap plywood I had, and away I go! I actually have a semi-solid plan. I want to knock this one out fast, first of all, so maybe it'll get done this year (ideally before spring or even March, but I know how things go). I want it to evoke a few things without quite indicating any of them. The Tyrell building from Blade Runner is a big one. The magitek factory from Final Fantasy VI is another. But I also want to maintain that primitive temple look--like a Mayan or Aztek pyramid--which the shape itself lends to. I also want it to appear as though it's either been abandoned or nearly so, and nature has started to retake it. So lots of pipes and vines and gears (see my initial bits pile) and maybe a surprise if I can keep motivated... Let me know what you think! Ha, also noticed my little Narshe cottage in the background--it's nearly complete as far as building. That'll be for another topic though!
  17. Presenting the Artful Dodger, part of the Dickensian faction from the game Twisted by Demented Games. Not too happy with this one, he turned out to be surprisingly difficult to paint (and even harder to photograph!), but at least he's finally done (I partially painted up his resin version a few years ago). As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  18. (Completed pictures posted here: https://www.facebook.com/LansingDTryon/media_set?set=a.10207549347146592.1073741831.1077153135&type=3 ) Lord Andrew St. George, Barrister turned shipwright, ca 188--: Surveying a recovered steel hull from one of Her Majesty's Less Well-fated Projects: He has just received the daunting task of retrofitting the hulk for unobtanium-powered flight. It appears to have been a freighter of some sort. The traditional steam engines are not present, though plenty of mounting space exists for their addition. ...as well as a sizeable cargo hold. The interior has the rudiments of partitioning, though he can already see much of it has to go. ...and the local Mechanaether Guild is none too happy. Here they discuss the previous deck configuration - possibly landing strips for smaller Aeronef craft? ...though structures remain on its underside that could be reused for the bridge and other desiderata. Time and budget permitting, the "HMAS Leviathan" (provisional name) could be airborne by 1910. Who knows?
  19. Presenting 'Pop' Bodkin (From the game Wolsung by Micro Art Studio) father of Hazel Bodkin, he works in the same automaton factory as a maintenance engineer. Like many older, country born Halflings he hasn't got into the habit of wearing shoes, despite the near-constant danger of something heavy falling on his toes. Turned out to be a surprisingly characterful mini, so I had a lot of fun painting him. Still need to work on my stamped bases. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  20. Presenting Hazel Bodkin (She's from the game Wolsung by Micro Arts Studio), walking home from her shift at the new-fangled automaton factory, she always makes sure to carry her slingshot, just in case she runs into one of those ruffians who make a sport of tormenting the wee folk. Made a bit of a mess painting her boobs (it was harder to get a brush in there than I thought it would be) and I'm still not great at using my basing stamps, but overall I'm pleased with the result. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  21. A French battleship and destroyer, and a British cruiser in "tropical" colors. I really hope this game comes out of its coma someday...
  22. Presenting Pigsy, part of the Guild of Harmony faction from the game Twisted. Had a lot of fun painting this one, I was originally a bit worried by all the little details and layers of clothing but it wasn't a problem. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  23. Presenting the Scarab Mummy, a minion for the Egyptian faction in the game Twisted, he's a mummy that's been redesigned to have a more pleasing beetle theme (which I guess technically makes him more of a Flesh Golem). Had a lot of fun with this one, I'm still pretty bad at painting gems but I think I'm getting better. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  24. This project was initiated by a little failed experiment with 2 parts epoxy resin (for water effect) that snowballed into a completely unrelated diorama. I put a kelpie in a clear tube and poured epoxy resin on it. There were too many bubbles in it. But this reminded me of the round aquariums so often pictured in mad scientists’ lab. The closest mini for scientists I had, were 2 chronoscope Bones. The furniture and decor is a mix of handmade (foam, clay, random recycling), Boardgame spare pieces (Dungeon Saga) and Bones. C&C welcome.
  25. Presenting an Android Flower-seller, part of the Servants of the Engine faction in the Twisted game universe. Had a lot of fun painting this one, although given a second chance I probably would've given her brighter flowers, and luckily you can't see the terrible bit of mold slip going on across her bonnet from this angle. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
