  1. To complement my Ent I wanted to sculpt a small toad man. None of yhe available miniatures really fit the bill, so I started from scratch. After bulking out the body with greenstuff and milliput (to make it less bendy) I made good progress with the skin texture. The combination of micro beads, poppy seeds and super glue applicator tube produced a really nice warty skin texture. Next are the arms and legs. He will be a plain toad, only a hand weapon will be added inspired by Polynesian arms.
  2. Finished him. Since he's already got a base, I'm cashing this one in as it is.
  3. This chaos toad was another one of my ReaperCon entries, this time in the Painter's category. As I had multiple entries in the category, only one was judged and this was not the one chosen. Even though it was not the one judged, it is one of my favorites that I have painted recently. It is a fantastic sculpt by @TaleSpinner with fun details like the shrunken head and turtle shell canteen.
  4. Tried some cork on the base aswell, happy enough on the results, following bases were better though.
  5. This is a giant frog from Mega Minis (you can't get it from there any more, though. He sold the molds to another company; I'm not sure who) that I have painted up as an Ice Toad for use in FrostGrave games. Also part of my Morihalda Challenge.
  6. Am in the process of doing three of this mini. All based upon Poison Dart frogs. Am pretty happy with the first result.
  7. This was one of my diorama entries at ReaperCon 2016. The idea came to me while watching Once Upon a Time and seeing the "Troll" bridge. This bridge is a toll bridge in Storybrooke that someone renamed Troll Bridge. I was then looking at Dark Sword's Critter Kingdoms Anthropomorphic line and came across the Horned Toad Assassin and thus the Toad Bridge came to be. It was originally going to be a larger piece with a troop of three or four facing off against the toad but it would have taken up most of my carrying case. So it got shrunk down and became just the cat against the Toad. The name also evolved into "Contention of Ownership." "Contention of Ownership" Silver, Diorama, ReaperCon 2016
  8. Howdy, What was I thinking... Thanks for the gander, Kev!
  9. I finally managed to gather up the courage to assemble and paint one of the Infamy "Welcome to the Big Smoke" kick starter minis. These are small highly detailed resin sculpts that have a lot of fiddly intricate parts and detail. Please fell free to comment. now for what you all want the pictures! My photography skills are limited so apologies for the occasional out of focus pic. This was after a mat spray but it looks like he needs another. I have not based him yet as I am trying to come up with a nice one... any suggestions will be taken into consideration.
  10. Northstar Miniatures Frostgrave: Ice Toad and Snow Leopard (SKU NORFGV301). Quick tabletop paint jobs. I have not decided if I am going to add snow to the bases yet.
  11. This is the final batch of my vintage enamel paintjobs on this classic range of minis. If anyone missed the earlier parts, they are here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3. Shambling Mound Giant Toad Naga Drow Sylph These final few were painted relatively recently (ie. in the last 12 years or so) using them thar newfangled acrylic paints. Gibberlings Yugoloth Mimics And that seems to be all I've got from this range. Or at least, all I have painted so far...
  12. These are frogman warriors from the new Bones II Kickstarter figures, sculpted by Jason Wiebe. Like the accompanying frog shaman, these critters are full of character and interesting detail. I painted them up like common meadow leopard frogs, the sort of spotted green ones I played with as a child, because they seemed a bit big and burly to be tropical tree frogs. The one with the spear and human-face-shield is 92681; the one with the fork and turtleshell shield is 92682. WIP thread here. Just as a side note: Does anyone know how to make it so the pictures in the post are nice and small but we can click on them and see a larger one?
  13. I painted this wolf as a large animal companion for my husband's hunter. The medium sized version of the wolf was painted in April. This kitty was a quick color and pattern check for the wolf. Random Toad!
  14. So I was happy enough to grab one of these at Origins before they are available online.. decided he'd be good for my exchange partner.. Inspiration: So far..
