Finished the second Treeman for the Halfling Blood Bowl Team. Took me a while to realize that it was a second squirrel IN it's mouth! 😛 Now it's on to painting 14 Halflings! 🤪

These are 3 resin Ttcombat treemen from their recent Halflings and Friends kickstarter, and the Reaper Bones tree spirit. Painted with contrast paints mainly. I then had great fun sticking flock and lichen all over them.

The "Wood Elemental" Spirit of the Forest. And quite a large one at that. Don't think you are going to do much damage with a sword and some arrows. I did this in late summer colours so it could go for the "spirit of summer" bonus thingy in the reaper forum resolutionary painting challenge. Makes me think of the many summer woodland walks and August camping trips with the boy scouts. Summer lasting all of three weeks here in Norway before the Autumn rains set in. Because Winter is Coming. 77184: Spirit of the Forest Reaper Bones from the first Bones KS sculpted by Jason Wiebe Bonesium PVC 60mm base

Hi all, I started building up a new army for Kings of War: "The Forces of Nature" (new race introduced in 2nd edition). The first unit I painted is the "Forest Shamblers". Those are ogre-sized, magically bounded constructs of tree/wood, stone, mud and vegetation (...according to Mantic's description... which I guess is a way to explain that they look treeman-ish, but also a bit like natural golems). I decided to use the advantage of KoW rules that don't consider individual models, but units as a whole, and put them up on a scenic base. I also added a few animals here and there to make it more interesting (you may recognize a Reaper bird familiar, otter, frog and seagull). I'm happy with the result overall. The drawback is that it was slower than my regular "painted army quality" speed, mainly due to the base ; and I'm not sure how resilient this will be on the tabletop (but I can't say that I play too much anyways... so that shouldn't matter). C&C welcome.
