  1. This is my contribution to the RCL trios category with @Evilhalfling and @Kuroneko. I decided on a Hampshire pig instead of spots. I love how much character the faces have.
  2. Continuing to paint the various rve stuff. This time, a kilted troll.
  3. When Stonehaven started doing their kickstarters, they usually released their version of a troll or two with each one. Since I liked the variety of elves, dwarves, and other smallfolk in the kickstarters i tended to get the completionist so i found myself with a bunch of these, even though resin is not my favorite medium to work with. I did a few and the rest sat... until i needed giants for my Runelord campaign. I needed hill giants and i dont like hill giants as depicted by the typical miniatures for them, but the trolls were cute and they fit the size i was looking for and the legend tha
  4. Lardgulp I painted for my FLGS's painting club.
  5. Still trying to cover all my basics with this classic troll design. I'm trying to get better with my basing, this time incorporating sand and some broken up wood chips.
  6. This guy has been sitting in my unpainted minis pile for a while, looking forward to eventually getting to use him in dnd.
  7. After completing my Reaper training kits, I'm ready to start tackling my old 80s lead minis from my youth. I tried painting a couple when I was twelve years old and failed so miserably I literally thought there was no way I would ever be able to even attempt this hobby and it was just better left to others with more talent. Thanks Reaper for making the awesome training sets and helping me try again after over 35 years. So without further ado I begin digging into my vault from the 80s. Apologies if this forum is for Reaper products only, no insult intended. So I think this baddi
  8. For your consideration, I present Kallaguk, Troll King. This model was painted as part of a theme back in March 2020 where green needed to be the primary color for a Twitch streamer I follow. I had a lot of fun with this one trying my best to only use various shades of green. Happy with its result. C&C welcome.
  9. Painted this one for my orc mob mordheim warband, hope you like it
  10. My starting warband for Mordheim is finally done! Hope you like them!
  11. An Oldhammer Troll Who's up for some softball? Crooked Claw miniatures was a Germany-based one man (and afaik run as a part-time, hobby-style evenings-and-weekend business) miniatures company that was all about oldhammer style goblins (and a few orcs) sculpted by Kev Adams the Goblinmaster. I do not really know the backstory, but I surmise that the person running the company commissioned minis from Kev Adams, had them produced and cast up, and then sold them off his website. There was also an indiegogo campaign at one point. I believe my Crooked Claw minis are fro
  12. I finished this Mountain Troll. It's kind of ironic, I painted him so he gets off my shelf of shame but due to his forward lean pictures were difficult so he is photographed literally ON my shelf of shame . It's not just a shelf, I also have bins of shame in the closet but that's another topic. I originally thought I'd give him a rocky hide and a paler fleshy underbelly but the underbelly turned out a lot darker than my original thoughts, but I still like it anyway. The closeups show the transition between that tone and the hide, it's on his inner arms and upper inner thighs as well becaus
  13. Picked up this fellow as part of the recent Realm of the Dragon Kickstarter project. He is on a 40mm base, barely, and is a pretty good size. Did a simple tabletop paint job, a couple of layers of color and washes. Very happy with him given how easy he was to paint.
  14. I loved everything about this guy from bones 4 pictures to delivery to painting to result!
  15. Howdy, Jazz hands? Kev! P.S. Spirit Fingers!
  16. From the Mid 2000's attempt to revive the D&D Chainmail come this Battered Troll Skeleton which was the biggest mini in the Ahumut's Legion Faction box. He has been sitting unpainted for many years as I have found with many of the minis the D&D produced at the time they where a pain to assemble. In his case the full arm and no peg or post and his skull with a bit of the neck was its own part with a minuscule peg and post that did not fit right and would never be able to support the weight of the head. also with the base you had to hand cut the slot that you would tab him into which is
  17. hey guys, Started from that big guy (a LOTR figurine) ; With a Grenadier 28mm for comparison scale then after a surgical action ; Cheers Eric
  18. My first time posting to this forum, please let me know if I misstep :p Reaper Bones Black: 44002 Rock Troll I added a more rocky base using rock and some plastic crystals carved from leftover plastic sprue. Also added some more crystals to his elbows and side. The elbows were just because I thought it would make it look more menacing but the one on his side was because of a huge hole leftover from the moulding process. To take care of assembly lines I used some of the rock I cracked apart for the base. I still have the belt and pouch to do, along with the b
  19. My Crystal Troll finally (almost) done. Really happy with the result. As a final touch i'm gonna try som resin water pool on the forward corner of the base. The was specially swaed off for this porpuse. Anyway hope U like GRtzz
  20. WiP. unfortunately i cant find the reaper bines 4 number Really like this model... trying a new look; grey will callus on the edges... And he is getting a baboon pink butt... say that outloud 3 time in a row.... to show he has a softer side, being a stoll troll and all Hope u like
  21. Here's the bones Cave Troll! I painted some of the pustules red with white-heads on them...very gross and troll-ey. :)
  22. Only used 8 colors for the troll. Base coated him in Reaper's troll flesh and harvest brown for the loincloth. Then a wash with citadel Nuln oil wash and Vallejo sepia wash for the cloth. Next a highlight of orc flesh over almost all of the muscles leaving just enough of the base and wash showing for the deep valleys of the muscles. Finally a glaze of troll flesh over the whole thing to blend it all together. Final touches were desert sand for the claws/teeth, coal black for the hair which was highlighted with Dark elf highlights and ogre flesh for the eyes. I think some of the new troll from
  23. Long time I did not open a little wip and I decided to get onto one of the privateer press figure I had on my shelf. Already did a preshade pass using some of their paint and also a thin glaze with liquitex ink just to have a more saturated blue tint.
  24. I decided to go with a sapphire troll! He won't last long, I'm afraid, walking around in a world with our greedy loot-crazed bunch. This guy makes me want to do an entire Terry Pratchett troll series: Ruby, Detritus, Mister Shine, even Chrysoprase in his suit. Happy painting, Laura
  25. Howdy, My first use of the new light box... Kev!
