  1. Now that our new house is done and we are unpacking, living in it for 11 days as of the time of this posting. I wanted to go ahead and start up a WIP thread showing my hobby/game room and the WIP as the last few days I've been setting it up so that I can paint. My OCD won't allow me to actually paint (even though I have an area for it now) until I have the rest of the room cleaned up and organized! Let's start up with the original plans - And here it is after it was done, a blank slate!
  2. I’ve been in a rut for the last few months not producing or working on anything. Partly too busy over the holidays and partly feeling uninspired. I want to get back into it, so to that end I’m going to do something different and pretty and light-hearted. I present “Fade” from Mirico. She’s a gorgeous bust with very striking details and a lot of room to interpret artistically. I hope you all enjoy the WIP while you follow along and please feel free to offer your comments and critiques!
  3. *trudges into his own cave again and invites guests to come ask him questions of any kind* Welp, I've been kicked out of the Goblin Cave now have new digs, feel free to ask me whatever you like.
  4. Having a hard time getting started back up on my keeper's sanctum diorama... I think I need to purposely take a break from it and work on some other stuff to get my creative juices flowing again. I have this idea in my head for a 75mm diorama featuring black sun miniatures' "Barbarian and the Lost Princess" (Conan) vs SC75's "Brock the Wanderer" I'm thinking in this piece that it will have Conan carrying the princess through a dungeon type setting and then Brock standing there in front of a doorway. I'm going to really pull from artwork that I admire in regards to barbarians such as Frazetta and Patrick J. Jones. Right now I'm cleaning off the flash and mold lines, as soon as I do that, I'll wash everything and start to assemble as much as I can without causing issues during painting. Mood and color scheme inspiration pic from Patrick J. Jones -
  5. I've decided on the figures I'm using for this project now too, they changed since last time. I want to enter it into this year's Reapercon Diorama category (of course) and I want it to qualify for Bombshell Babes diorama, so I'm picking out 5 babes to battle the keeper (RBG) and his summoned demon (reaper glabrezu): 1) Celeste - Sorceress/wizard, 2) Khai the Huntress - ranger, going to weapon swap her to give her a bow, 3) Thorga Half Orc - Barbarian, Astrid Thunderhammer - Cleric, and Sister Vasha Fane - Paladin. This piece will be 2 stories tall, it will have a lot of details and a lot of action, with a summoning circle that the Glabrezu is inside of at the time the heroines come rushing into the Keeper's Sanctum. The badelf adventuring party! Vs..... The Keeper and his summoned Glabrezu
  6. For my Broken Gods D&D game, I've painted up all the figures for my group and am now getting around to painting up their mounts and animal companions. First off we have Bagheera, the Panther based off artwork in the spoiler. Bagheera is the animal companion of the party's monk/ranger and normally it is a standard medium-sized panther that he can use to fight along side him, but the panther can grow into this large mount when needed. Next is the Golden Lion, the mount of the party's bard, based on the artwork below: Next is the Nightmare for the party's warlock, based on the artwork below: I painted up the standard medium sized panther to use when it is needed. The monk/ranger also gained a (perhaps) temporary follower in "Jim the Brown Bear" which I also decided to paint up for this adventure and future adventures as a companion or just standard bear. All of these are painted up tabletop to tabletop+ standards. I didn't want to put too much work into them as they are just meant to be on the tabletop and not to be put into any contests. Larger panther and the lion are the lioness and lion from Bones 3. The smaller panther and the brown bear are bones animal companions. The Nightmare is from one of Tre's kickstarters. It has a barbarian that goes on the saddles, which of course I omitted here and I'll either toss the barbarian in the BOGW or put him in the melt bin at ReaperCon now that he's not really needed and I covered the hole in the saddle where he would normally attach. There's one missing mount, a silver and black fox that I may also paint up for the 4th member of the group. She paints minis too, so I'm thinking I'll give her a wolf figure that looks very foxlike to have her do it herself especially since I have so many other projects I need to finish up on this month. Anyhow, C&C are welcomed and appreciated! EDIT!! Adding more pics of the figures in more close-up shots for each one.
  7. Today, I'm not feeling working on my main ReaperCon project for the diorama so I figured to stay productive and still do something I'll go ahead and start a WIP thread for some tabletop to tabletop+ painted figures of mounts and/or animal companions for the characters in my D&D game. First off I'm doing these three bones figures: animal companion brown bear (Jim), animal companion black panther (Alex), and Phantasmal blue panther mount (Bagheera). These are for the monk/ranger character in my D&D 'Broken Gods' game. I will use some green stuff to even out and blend into the bones broccoli bases, the bigger panther will get a green stuff made saddle and harness. After I'm done with these three: I will paint up a golden lion (the companion to the panther figure from bones 3 I believe) Find a fox figure big enough to be a mount - will need to be about 1 1/2 to 2 inches long. Acquire a nightmare figure for a mount or modify a horse or unicorn
  8. Decided to have some fun today as I was digging thru my figures pulling out stuff I am going to put in the BOGW. I ran across the hydra and remembered that next weekend I planned on throwing my d&d players up against one. 3-4 hours later I have a painted up hydra on a scenic base from secret weapon miniatures. Added some water effects for a tiny swampy pond beneath it. I’d love to hear your C&C!
  9. Darth Sana She stared at her adversary with cool and calm calculation, the Jedi was nervous... she saw the fear in his eyes, yes... GOOOOOOD.... fear would cause him to make mistakes.. she'd cut him down with her force-imbued katana and notch another Jedi scum on her belt... She snarled at him, "Come and die, you fight the Sith Mistress!" ---------------------------------------------------- Manufacturer: White Wolf Miniatures 3 parts: Head, body, Sword. Scale: 70mm high Sculptor: Juan Puerta Casting: Sago This was a labor of love and fun for me, I decided as soon as I saw this beautiful bust that I was going to paint her up as 'evil' and the paint scheme that called to me was to paint her up to look like Darth Maul, I added the horns with copper wire and then sculpted them on with ProCreate. Towards the end of the project, I was trying to decide how to display her and it came to me that I wanted to make her part of a story, give her a bit more of the Star Wars tie-in with a completely scratch-built Tie Fighter. The title placards on the sides were designed by my good friend @Thrym and I printed them off on cardstock and glued them onto the plasticard sides of the tie fighter. The scabbard is my attempt at a sort of force rune, it is Kanji which translates into "Sith Mistress." WIP can be found here: Without further ado, I present (Darth) Sana from White Wolf Miniatures! Thanks for looking (and following along), C&C are welcomed and greatly appreciated!
  10. Magically Distracted She sat on her favorite stool, having gotten mostly undressed and relaxed, gently swirling the goblet of red wine in her hand as she read through the grimore in her lap... closing her eyes she gently concentrated on the spell that was before her... suddenly the books piled around her lifted up in the air as if they had minds of their own and were caught in a small windstorm. She giggled to herself and took another long drink of the wine from her goblet and continued to study... --------------------- This was a really fun project that I started up in April of this year. My goal was to get her done in time for the 'eavier metal online contest (Facebook) and see if I could place or perhaps get a random draw. I ended up uploading her about 10 minutes late, so I have no idea at the time of doing this post if she will be considered in the contest or if she will be disqualified. Either way, I had fun, I had tons of amazing feedback during the WIP and a lot of people cheering me on to get it finished. I present to you "Magically Distracted" a NSFW Kingdom Death figure in the 54mm scale, she is a limited edition resin release. Please feel free to give your comments and critiques. I'm going to check and see if I am allowed to bring a nude figure to ReaperCon this year for entry into their painters contest or not. If not, she'll stay home as I do have plenty of other things to enter as well. A few firsts on this one, I did some elaborate tattoos, magical floating books, writing in books in freehand, a completely nude figure, texturing pattern, Venus dimples, and last but not least sheer stockings (which were a lot of fun and a lot of work!). First - pics that are SFW and then I'll post some NSFW links (special thanks to @Thrym for hooking me up with his site for hosting as Facebook links expire) and for helping me out with the really cool title placard). NSFW Links One Two Three Four Five ETA: Better pics after a bit of clean-up to the OSL and added red ink to the drink.
  11. My good friends over at White Wolf Miniatures sent me Sana as a gift, she's an amazingly clean resin sculpt of a female samurai. As soon as I saw her I knew how I wanted to paint her up. I'm going with a Darth Maul color scheme with red and black and I'll freehand the sith symbol somewhere on her armor. I'll elicit your comments and critiques as I paint her up. Right now I have her washed, prepped, and ready to get primed. As you can see she's nearly 80mm tall.
  12. I finished Dhaelia for my D&D friend, this is for my current campaign about Broken Gods. Dhaelia is the group's rogue/arcane trickster. Took about 4 hours total on this piece as I'm trying to get it ready for next week's game and I have a lot of other projects going that need to get done before ReaperCon gets here! WIP thread located here: As always, C&C are welcomed and appreciated, thanks for looking!
  13. I'm now finished with Nosferatu and have taken final pics. He came out as I intended and I got some very valuable feedback on the skin tones from awesome forum-mates. WIP found here: I present to you, Nosferatu, vampire lord from Green Monkey Models! C&C are welcomed and greatly appreciated! I'm also going to bring him to ReaperCon and enter him into the big figures contest on the forum
  14. Time for the final pics to be posted here (those that I can anyhow). This is Queen Shaernagathu - I came up with this name as it's the 3 parts of the figure that I kit-bashed together to form this figure. The body of Queen Shaerileth, a tentacle from the well of doom and the snake bottom half from I don't know which snake or creature or even if it was a reaper figure, I found all 3 parts in the melt bin during ReaperCon 2016. I was going to hold off posting and enter her into the 2017 Massive Voodoo water base challenge, but it was pointed out to met that she doesn't qualify due to a full figure being in the scene, the challenge is for the base to be the star with possibly a couple small plants/animals, but no full figures. Anyhow, it was a super fun project and very challenging. I did a lot of new things with it and learned a lot during the process. I had great feedback from others on the forum as well. WIP can be found here: Without further ado, here are the pics that I can show and links to the NSFW pics I can't show on the forum. I know they will expire at some point, but at least I can upload a few here. NWFW Links Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3 Pic 4 Thanks for looking and of course C&C are welcomed and greatly appreciated!
  15. Another WIP for me to do this week. I've got Isla Darkstep, Reaper SKU #02698 which I'm painting up for my final D&D player. This one is going to be painted up to look like a drow. Anyhow, getting started, I have a couple pics as I got it cleaned and prepped now. Again going with black primer first and then I'll wait until it dries and do some white primer dry-brushed over it to pick out details. I just placed her integral base on a 1 inch circle of wood that I like to use for my bases and then put some procreate around the edges and sculpted the stones to match what was on her base to the best of my limited sculpting ability.
  16. I finished up Shazirah today, took me about 8 or so hours total from start to finish, but no special basing. I couldn't get the figure painted and do a nice base in the span of a day. She's a gift for my niece who turns 18 in a couple of weeks, she asked her dad to have me paint something up for her and I did my best to get a TT+ standard figure done today for her before my brother heads back to Missouri tomorrow morning. Anyhow, final pics! C&C are welcomed and appreciate of course.
  17. Yesterday while I was painting up the gift (Shazirah) for my niece, my brother was painting up this guy! It's Sir Bors from Albion's Legacy Kickstarter. We did a slight modification to him to add the cross in his hand. This is my brother' 2nd painted mini.
  18. As if I don't already have enough projects, I can't keep him waiting any longer! This is Nosferatu, a limited edition bust from Green Monkey Models. I have copy 11/50. This sculpt is amazingly detailed, it's creepy and awesome. I'm going to try out some new undead skin tones on this bust and just have some fun. I'll elicit all of your comments and critiques as I go through this project as well! As you can see he's nearly 90mm tall, a pretty sizable bust. I'm going to clean up the little bits of putty I used to make sure the seams where his arms join his body are smooth and even and then use the airbrush to layer on some primer!
  19. While at ReaperCon 2016, I hit up the melt bin and found 3 distinctly different parts of 3 different figures. The first one was torso of 03465: Shaerileth, Spider Demoness, the second was a snake's tail (not sure from what or even if it's Reaper let me know if you know what it is!) and the third looks like it's a tentacle from the 02634: Well of Doom. These are NSFW due to the nude portion of the top of the figure and so I'll link to my Facebook pics that I've posted up. Here's the pieces as I pulled them from the melt bin. Pic 1 - all separate Pic 2 - test fitted using museum putty Pic 3 - glued and green stuff putty putting it together Pic 4 - another angle Pic 5 - yet another angle
  20. Sitting at home today, chatting with my brother who is in town visiting, he mentioned that his daughter would love something painted up by me for her 18th birthday. So over the last few hours I've been working on Shazirah a 54mm barbarian from Ares Mythologic. Here's the progress thus far - starting from priming black/white to where I'm at right now. It's taken me about 4 hours to get to this point. I'm hoping to finish her off in the next 2-3 hours as the skin is always what I fuss over the most!
  21. Good afternoon again! Just finished Bale, the party's Eldrich Knight and god of Thunder/Battle for my current D&D campaign entitled "Broken Gods" Another one that's painted up to TT+ standard for me and took about 3-4 hours to do. Thanks for looking, C&C are welcomed and appreciated!
  22. I finally was able to get the time and - quite frankly - the painting bug biting me to get this done for Jasper the 2nd, who won my Artist page 500 likes random contest drawing. This is the figure he picked out of my collection and I'm going to mail him out this week. It's a Forge Guardian from Rackham Confrontation, dwarf of Tir-Na-Bor. Metal figure, at 28mm scale. It was actually quite fun to paint up. The base is a pre-made base that I painted to be a stained/rusted metallic from the old Stonehaven Dwarves kickstarter. Anyhow, C&C are welcomed and greatly appreciated, thanks for looking!
  23. Good afternoon everyone! I've finished this tabletop + figure for one of my Players in my Broken Gods D&D game, this is Cairan the Warlock (pronounced as Keer-awn). He's the god of Death and War (tactics), think Valkyrie or the goddess "Morrigan" from Celtic lore. Anyhow, it took probably 4-ish hours do do this figure to the TT+ standard and I added an eagle or hawk familiar from one of the bones familiar packs to his shoulder painted up as a large crow as the character has a large crow as a familiar. Sorry for blurry pics, my phone is not cooperating with me today! Anyhow, C&C are welcomed and appreciated, thanks for looking!
  24. Just finished up with "Cadence", the figure is a modification of Dark Sword Miniatures Female Rogue (DSM-7437) where I cut off the dagger in the off-hand and added the lute from Reaper's Adventuring Accessories (02638) to make her into the party bard. WIP Pics here - Anyhow enough chatter, here she is at my Tabletop+ standard: Inspiration pic here - Thanks for looking! C&C are welcomed and appreciated.
  25. After getting totally inspired and having the day off work today, I was able to kick out the Deadpool bust! I wanted it as close to the comics and movie as possible, so I went for a super shiny look and actually spray coated it in gloss, it looks a lot better in person than I was able to capture in the pics, but the pics aren't horrible. WIP thread is located here. C&C are welcomed and appreciated.
