  1. One of my favorite Fantasy races are the Undead, followed by Chaos and Reptilians. I already have my Lost World Project which tells a tale of Conquistadores, Reptilians, Dinosaurs, Undead and a lot more. However those Undead are the Egyptian Style and Pirate/Jungle style. This thread will be filled with my beloved Gothic Undead, Demons, Monsters and all things that go bump in the night. In my Lost World Project I tell an ongoing story, here I will post about all other dark things without coherency. There might be snippets of loose stories to accompany a mini or
  2. My first time painting a chibi figure. Probably not the last. Painting this made me feel happy.

  4. I've finished another project that was on my to-do list for years. First the pics, then some more words: This was a special resin figure from ReaperCon 2014 (April 24-27 that year) -- sculpted by Bobby Jackson, given to attendees who paid extra for the Artist Banquet on Saturday night. I was supposed to paint him for Reaper's studio collection after the con, but I got distracted with other stuff and he fell off my list. He had the SKU 01529 for a while, and although he is out of production now, his clone will be back soon in Bones
  5. Siobhana (03150) is one hell of a femme fatale in the Morticia Addams line. Zaftig and haughty, scornful and entitled. I wish I had gotten better lighting; her pale skin isn't great at showing contrast, She comes with a half-broken pillar of some solar celestial (a Pathfinder relic? it looks like it would fit with their iconic Cleric) and also a batlike grotesque. I think the Vorvorlaka (77631) represents another stage in that gargoyle vargouille life cycle. The sexy vampire lady and the horrible batlike monstrosities make for a good Hammer Horror aesthetic.
  6. I have put together a warband, mainly Reaper models, for use in Saga Age of Magic, Frostgrave, Oathmark etc. The winged vampires were quite simple to paint. Primed with Israeli grey from Vallejo, then drybrushed with Rakarth flesh and Pallid Wych flesh. Then a wash of carroburg crimson and a highlight with Pallid Wych Flesh. The armoured vampires are mainly crimson knights from Reaper with a couple of head swaps but mostly straight and un-kitbashed. They were primed with Vallejo red brown then I used contrast flesh tearers red and a bunch of washes for the armour.
  7. I finally managed to climb back on the painting horse. I painted this vampire to my usual tabletop standard. He'll be the leader for a Mordheim/Frostgrave/random skirmish game warband.
  8. Another tabletop lady - tried stronger source lighting and focused on trying to smoothly blend the very pale skin. Also managed to make a reasonable base with the greenstuff roller this time - so overall happy to try these things out on her, including the flowers.
  9. Hi everyone, I completed this one last night. 02181, Sirithis the Succubus sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. This is a Dark Heaven Legends model. I painted her with Reaper MSP paint and mounted her on a 40 mm round base sku: 74033. Censored for the younger audience. Uncensored version of the pictures can be found on my blog or FB page.
  10. It says something about the state of organization on my painting table, that I come across finished minis I'd forgotten about. I finished these awhile back, but the spray sealer turned them glossy, despite being labelled as "Satin" sealer. Tried a dousing in Vallejo Matte Sealer, no help there. So I put them aside until now, with my last Reaper tithe I picked up some of the Reaper Brush On Sealer...and it solved the problem. So I now unleash Ivan von Helstein and Lianna Vampiress.... Here frolicking amid the gravestones... With the sculpt for Ivan very closely matching the
  11. So I finished the Undead Regiment. Background story.. the Vampire Queen lost a big battle, fled to a swamp/jungle area. Subdued the swampfolk and now faces a rebellion. Some swamp creatures follow her, others oppose her. Here is the full regiment. Mixed Manufacturers. Mixed types of Undead. I will post them separatly or in smaller groups for better pics of them all. I will try not to flood the forum, so today the regiment and the first solo/smaller groups. The rest will follow shortly. The Vampire Queens heraldry is red and purple so all the Undead have this colours somewhere. Al
  12. Hello everyone, this one is for all of you Nosferatus, Vampires and Childrens of the Dark lovers. 02867, Matthias the Twisted sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  13. Years ago, I could not for the life of me find a GW Vlad von Carstein to match the Isabella I got at the FLGS, however I did find Reaper's Gabriel Darkblood which went perfectly alongside her. So in short he was the first Reaper mini I ever bought. Now repainted and ready to subject the world to the scourge of the undead once more.
  14. Unknown female vampire figure I picked up in a boxed game set. Can't remember the exact name or manufacturer. Box art showed them in purple, I wanted to explore other colors. I see her as the kind of vampire that likes to play with her food and enjoys a bit of lively sport. I have 2 of her sisters to do in other colors. The photo is a bit washed out from the flash. Her skin is a pale grey, different than her white gloves. Casting on the face is strange, she has an odd shaped mouth, and no nose so I painted one on.
  15. I printed this on my Elegoo Mars, STL is from Gloomy Kid. Vampire Lord in Bat Form, You're invited to dinner! WIP HERE: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79298-children-of-the-night-by-glitterwolf/
  16. So I started 3D printing and one of the models was a female Vampire, I scaled her down to size since she was actually a large model. I was inspired to paint her like Elvira. Elvira: My Lady:
  17. Painted her to be a vampiric white witch! The Violet Witch is an Elvin protector to the forests. Not quick to trust most, and will kill as quick as wolfsbane if prompted. For some reason the metal around the Jewel on her staff is showing up hardcore blue. I only lightly dusted the inner area, but all that metal is showing up as blue in pictures compared to in person. And I have no clue why. Lol There's more pictures uncensored in my group at this link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/447509039179230/permalink/531957040734429/
  18. #3: Sexy lady on a grave The bared-shoulder-come-hither-look in a tight formfitting dress has to be a vampire, don't you think? Why else would she be standing on a grave looking all alluring? I painted the dress with Green Stuff World Metalcolor Cæsar Red (a metallic deep red) and Reaper Rose Gold, a metallic pink. I find these colours work very well together. Rose gold is not available at retail (yet). I won the Rose Gold on the Halloween Twitch stream lottery draw together with three other paints and some halloween-themed minis (Yay! I actually won something for on
  19. Been working on a series of monster hunters from the Early Modern Era, and of course that means we need early modern monsters! The Vampire, of course, is one of the most versatile classics. Polidori, the "Varney" authors, LeFanu, and Stoker popularized the concept and promoted the bloated varcolac or shambling nach-zerer to the aristocracy. The variety is almost infinite, but nowadays we expect them to be parasitic, narcissistic, obsessive, entitled, compelling, rule-bound, and of course, literally blood-thirsty. Here's one such vampire, the beautiful Jahenna. Alluring, beguiling, decep
  20. This mini is called "Vorvorlaka" and is from the Bones 3 kickstarter, Graveyard expansion. I based it on a 30mm lipped base. The obligatory size comparisons... 77631 Vorvorlaka Reaper Miniatures, Bones 3 KS 2015, Graveyard expansion Sculpted by Bob Ridolfi 30mm base available from reapermini.com Here shown with Reaper 80068 Victorians and North Star's Pulp Heroes: The Film Crew sculpted by Bob Murch click the pic to enlarge
  21. Going to call this one done. This one was another case of the mini looking s lot better after it is painted then when it is bones white. Think I still need to work on skin application was really hard on this one and had to make up where shades would go a long the way on most of it; still was interesting using Sorcerous mist and Vampire mist and think that Vampre mist has potential for work well as a glaze. As you can probably tell went for a Vampirella kind of look. Also kind of happy with the orb as under light it pops more then i thought it would.
  22. I have not shown anything for a long time. And I have not painted anything for a couple of months. Finally I had a couple of hours of free time and painted that Bones Vampire. As usually, all I'm aiming for is tabletop "quality". For a first mini after a month-long break, done in a couple of hours I'm quite satisfied. I think I'm going to do a bit more with the inner side of the cape (more highlights). Any constructive criticism welcome.
  23. Well, now. This is a bit of an unusual project. Earlier this year @malefactus kindly sent me some unpainted miniatures that he thought I could get some use out of. Among them was an already based and primed copy of Reaper's 14016, Judas Bloodspire, Necropolis Warlord, sculpted by the legendary Werner Klocke. I had already painted a quickie version the Bones version of the sculpt, 77160: Judas Bloodspire, Vampire and had discovered how fun the sculpt was, so I was pleased to have another to paint, especially since it was mounted on one of malefactus' inimitable bases.
  24. Painted this up for Rat13 as part of the Summer Exchange. Wanted to do a limited summer/fall color scheme and I am happy with how he turned out. These are not the best pictures in the world as they were taken quickly before packing him up.
  25. This is the classic Reaper 02551, Monique Denoir. There are some gorgeously painted examples of her out there. Some of this post is quoted from an earlier post, since I find that giving information in each thread is useful, even if in the big picture it's redundant. All paints used are Golden Matte Fluid Acrylics. Color mixes are (usually) noted, but not exact ratios. Questions are welcomed and I will try to answer them. Critiques are appreciated. Monique Denoir is a Werner Klocke scupt. Her face is classical and lovely. She's certainly popular,
