  1. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dreamforge-games/dreamforge-games-grav-stug-tank-model-with-stl-fil This is a relaunch of the project that failed to fund a few days ago, they're trying reducing the cost and relying on people picking up more kits overall to make the numbers work (1600 rather than 1200 kits). I hope it works (3D print to show size)
  2. 1:32 LandRover Grand cost of £4.99 and lots of bits from my junk box.
  3. OK, since the sculpting part of my Tycho AFV is done, I'm continuing the rest of the build here. If you want to see the modeling and printing portion of the Tycho, go here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/77726-tycho-afv-for-my-nova-corp-soldiers-wip/ I'm building this vehicle as a light tank for use with my NOVA Corp soldiers. First off, if you haven't read the sculpting thread, here's what the Tycho looks like. The 80010 NOVA Corp Sgt standing next to it has just been selected as the tank commander: I haven't been designing models for 3d Printing for very long, but
  4. One really nice feature of Bones is that if I want to do "rider conversions" of minis, it's much more attractive to do so than with pewter counterparts. A big part of this is because the figure is cheap enough that I don't feel like I'm committing sacrilege by cutting up and re-pinning the figure into a "rider" pose. Another part is that it's a whole lot easier to do that cutting-and-pinning business. (One downside is that I can't simply bend a leg into a slightly different position, but "slightly different position" wouldn't apply to this project anyway.) So, for Necronomicon 2015 (ht
  5. Rocky and Bullwinkle naming aside, this is the truck. I originally started building it as a follow up to the death dumpster, but it fit together neatly enough I decided to see how it looked without orking it up. I still haven't decided if I want to clean it up and gap fill, or add a bunch of plates bolts and teef.
  6. Been working on a few big stompy robot designs since June, with an eye towards making my own independent faction for CAV, but also making them generic enough to be used elsewhere. This is the first one I've picked to work up fully as a ReaperCon entry, and be printable from a more-or-less standard 3D printer. The thing I've found is that curved shapes in the vertical axis really don't look that good. Too many "steps" as the shape is sliced into flat slivers. So, the trick was to print all the curves and other angled items along the plane of the print bed. Here's what the CAD looks like (PTC Cr
  7. I painted this up over the course of one day, yesterday. Curious to see what you guys think! If you're interested in how I made it...process is laid out here: xactoguru.blogspot.ca
  8. This week I completed my first unit from the Reaper Bones CAV Strike Operation Kickstarter, the Ashigaru missile launcher vehicles. Im using them for a ruleset other than CAV, so have them based two to a platoon stand, with a company HQ stand included. I was happy how quick and fun the Bones vehicles are to paint, and look forward to doing more. C & C welcome.
  9. Hi, Here are the Terran wheeled transport vehicle "Tsukai" in Bones for CAV. I wanted to keep them looking "military" with one major colour, and try to give contrast with shade and highlights to make them pop a bit. This was a very quick paint and I'm pretty pleased with the result. I may be re-using this recipe for more units. C&C appreciated.
  10. This is one of a set of three armored cars, the "Specter Armored Cars" from the "All Quiet on the Martian Front" game. They are 15mm scale, said to be based on the Rolls Royce Spectre. I am painting them up for steampunk use. I think they are lead. They seemed pretty soft and bendy anyhow. They came in several pieces without instructions and it took a few tests to see how and what order to put the pieces together. The underbody chassis is just a little tricky and you can't put the wheels on until the rest is assembled. I left the turret unglued. It's on a post so it can rotate
  11. So, this is a bit different than what we usually see on the forums, but... If you've seen my topic in the Conversions and Terrain subforum, you know what this is, but to recap for those who haven't... I took an old Tamiya 1/35 Panzer II kit from the 70s, pieces of a broken resin Verlinden 1/48 Pak 43 gun, a bunch of blank styrene, and scratch built pretty much everything above the hull (and bits of the hull as well).
  12. Not everyone can afford a Dictator, or even a Centipede. On particularly broke worlds, it's all you can do to scavenge up a few of the tougher civilian vehicles, mount a gun on them, maybe a few panels of plasteel you "borrowed" from the building site, and hope for the best. I threw together the following vehicles to represent such ragtag units. Be warned: fragile!
  13. Haven't posted any WIP pictures of these, mostly because they were done just for my own fun. But they're finished, so figured I'd show them off a little. These are a Concussion (24518) and a Centurion (24570) behind two Dropzone Commander Juno A1 Infantry Fighting Vehicles. I thought they were tanks, but just did a full name search and I guess they're not. Eh, oh well. Enjoy!
  14. So I have painted a wee little rocket-bearing truck from Reaper's CAV line. Even with the rocket raised it only reaches the heads of my miniature figurines. I'd say it's the smallest vehicle I have ever painted, except so far it's the only vehicle I've ever painted. WIP thread here.
  15. So to stretch a bit out of my comfort zone, and in honor of Amalor Myrnix, who was so into them, I picked up a CAV model, the Ripper truck and rocket launcher, #24576. I am currently playing in a Shadowrun game where my character's day job is as a bakery delivery person. She has a fully armored outfitted combat truck which she uses to transport baked goods across the greater Seattle area. This is not a literal representation of it, although spiritually the rocket on top takes up about the same amount of mental space. Also, I am pretty sure the truck in the game is not purple. But you
