Some more minis, this time of the shorter variety, that arrived from Kickstarters I've backed. November was a busy month for my mailman! This set is the Dwarf Veterans Warband from Ral Partha Europe. They seemed to have a particularly frosty city in mind with their design philosophy. Dwarf Brewmaster/Apothecary. This is one of my favorite Dwarf sculpts to date Snorri, the Ginger Ninja: Dwarf Ranger. "Real Dwarves wear hoods, Mr. Jackson!" Sonja the Shieldmaiden (one of my suggestions during the Kickstarter campaign! Well, not Dwarf Sonja, but a Shieldmaiden) This puts my Red Sonja parodies to actual Red Sonja minis at a 2:1 The Wizard's Apprentice (though he looks like a perfectly capable Wizard to me) I'm really glad RPE went with my suggestion of making the Thugs real low-class criminal types. There's not many of those that aren't full-on Chaos Dwarves. These fit the bill for brigands and the like perfectly. Another total. brute, completely untrustworthy. Must be an expert second-story man. Crossbowman (Crossbowdwarf?), with totally fab hair. I hadn't noticed his thumb until after I edited the photos... Dwarf Scribe. Perhaps even another Wizard. A boar. A fast friend, or fast food for the road.

Today I output the dwarves ("Dwarves Veterans" by Scibor) What I like about them is that they're bulky and (almost power-)armoured like an army from under the mountain should look like, yet still fitting into a fantasy plot. I was a bit worried about all the ornamental details on them but these chubby little tin cans practically paint themselves: sorry for the bad photo
