  1. This is all mostly Glitterwolf's fault....mostly... His Painting the Pandemic Challenge was the excuse I've been waiting for to tackle Reaper's Four Horsemen. I first saw them at Leisure Hours Hobbies in Plainfield back when I was first getting started in the hobby, and they were one of those "I'll eventually get these", things since they kinda fit in with my undead army, but I was concentrating more on units at the time...anyway, combining with the recent events of the year, I've been tempted by the idea of going back to the start of the DHL line and painting my way forward. Thus the birth of yet another WIP thead. We begin with 02001 Reaper Famine. Other than priming, haven't done anything with the rider yet. As Buglips noted in his WIP, trying to figure out what is skin/bone/fleshy bits was a bit confusing. The skin is Ghoul Skin, bone is Dirty Bone, and fleshy meat bits and organs are Red Gore. Steel Legion Drab on the base, and began putting Rotting Wood on the harness and saddle.
  2. Greetings! Vietnam Zombie with gun from Citadel Miniatures of old! This was a limited release which was linked with both the Chainsaw Warrior board game & 40K Chaos. Thanks for looking!
  3. In a recent one-day run through Ravenloft, I played a halfling paladin who rode a war dog. He was so fun to play that I have to make minis for them. Here is the start of Garr.
  4. Wow I feel really outclassed here but I've gotta start somewhere... Painted these for a friend's birthday, it was several months past his birthday when I finished, lol. Unfortunately before I could properly finish he had to move so I had to rush and couldn't do as much as I'd like. A lot of bases remained unpainted, and some touch ups on some of the skintones that I was planning on doing after had to be left as they were. Not sure how many I can fit before it starts flagging me as spam so I'm just gonna show a photo of all of them, and then some of the monsters. They're the ones I'm most satisfied with. Blood Rage Base Game all painted minis Fire Giant Ice Giant Troll
  5. I have recently been invited to a Kings of War Escalation campaign. I looked around my hobby room and much to my dismay found hundreds upon hundreds of unpainted models because I am a bad, bad procrastinator. As a result,I decided to do an Undead army, and have decided to use as many miniatures I already own rather than buying new ones, many of which come from the Bones Kickstarter 1, very very old GW models and some Mantic stuff I have had for years, the idea being that the undead army is a mishmash of former armies of ancient which all fought under the same banner, sworn to never rest until a great evil has been banished from the land. Plan is to work it up to 2500 points in a few months... We will see if I can keep my painting game strong. Here's the startings of Lord Calder's Host... Pictures after the drop. -------- "Before you sign this, you need to understand that swearing fealty to Lord Calder is no small measure. I've seen those eyes before. Dreams of adventure and romance, tasting the first blood on your blade, and helping slay the evils of the world. Maybe you're in it for the coin, dark knows I was. I know the rate of pay is high, and I promise Calder can pay it. Whatever your wildest dreams, you sign with us, you'll get it. But you gotta understand boy, Calder don't give nothing for free... This contract don't end with you toes up towards the sky, the ravens feasting on your soft bits, your family safe in the wealth Lord Calder pays after you take a stray arrow in the face. No lad, this contract is binding. For today, tomorrow, and the hereafter. We all die. Maybe you'll die on the field of battle a month from now when some unknown evil claws its way out of the earths to tear apart every man, dwarf and elf across the realm, dying in a pool of your own entrails to protect whatever sweetness you keep at home. Or maybe maybe you'll die old and wrinkled in your bed, a legend among men, songs sung and glories burned into the histories. We all die. All of us. But son, you gotta understand that someday, he will call again. It don't matter how long you've slept. I swear you boy, You'll wake." ------ Comments and criticism welcome! Promise Reaper minis will be included soon.
  6. Since my account crash I've posted my work again, I had to make new pics from this one. When I met my girlfriend I had Odin, A Boxer Dog. ( I always have Boxers, their playful, clownesc behaviour appeals to me. Real family dogs but make no mistake they protect their family). Well her daughters ( now my stephdaughters, I feel like they are my own) liked him very much. Especially the youngest who was like 9 at the time, Odin was 8. He jumped through hoops for her, searched for perfum ridden tissues she hid in the garden. They were big friends. The oldest too, but she had the closest connection. So I painted up Garr as Odin, cut the tail. Even the shield got a camo scheme, cause Odin wore gear like that sometimes. she loved is and it is still in her room. Then came 2011, a bad year. First my father died. So sad. some 4 months later Odin hid in the garden. Wouldn't eat or play. Now when a boxer does that, you're too late. They are very tough guys and almost never show pain, when they do it is serious and when they hide they are almost done for. So the vet diagnosed a belly full of cancer. I took him home, let the girls say goodbye and then that night we let him go. The youngest still owns his collar and photo, even though we have a new Boxer since 2013 ( Brutus, this time a white one with a big brown/black spot on the left side of his head. This time the oldest has the closest connection, he sleeps on her on the couch like a big baby). So as a tribute to Odin and the love humans and dogs can feel for each other I give you ODIN. No one can take away the friendship we shared.
  7. Fallout 4 is coming out on Nov. 10, 2015. Mark your calendars, Vault Dwellers.
  8. Hi Folks, David here, DLD Productions. We have launched out KickStarter, "This is WAR!" to take our existing 15mm futuristic/scif resin vehicles, and convert them over to plastic injection. Why? #1. Cost of the materials for plastic injection is SOOoo much less than resin. #2. Mold life is 500,000+ runs for steel, verses 30-50 runs for rubber. #3. Production times will increase 100 fold! 15 second cyclic rate for plastic injection.....resin, (depending on the weather), 5-10 minute...(that includes trimming off the flash and pour buttons, plus any pre-drilling that is required). #4. Weight of plastic is sooo much less than that of resin castings. (thinking....shipping.....carrying the army around.....etc..) #5. No more resin mess, miss-cast parts (wasted money and materials)..... So, there you go....this is something we have wanted to do in the past. We would like very much to see our 15mm line in plastic injection.....AND if this goes well, we will start on the 28mm kits as well.......ooohhh......the Albatross Dropship......in plastic.....yum! Have a look around....take a look at our gameplay video......and we will see you on the battlefield! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/427645199/this-is-war-0?ref=nav_search Thanks! David
