Looks interesting for the terrain, if not the miniatures. Two armies package includes two 20"x20" fortresses for less than $100. There are a couple of things that give me pause, though. First time creator, and claims to be in Chicago but English is clearly not his first language. May not mean anything but makes me wonder. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/crumb-group/eternal-eight "After over three years in the making, we are proud to present you the Eternal Eight - a WORLD'S FIRST 3D mini war game with innovative real 3D RELIEF. The goal of the game is to capture the enemy’s King. The advantages of Eternal Eight are the 3D castles, fortresses and villages with a myriad of traps, labyrinths and secret passages. All of the army bases (castles, villages, fortresses) are easy to assemble and move around. The game can be easily incorporated into your existing game table setup or provide a great addon to some of your existing mini war games."

Dream Pod 9's latest Jovian Wars Tabletop Wargame Kickstarter is live. This time we are making new spaceship, exo-armor, and fighter/bomber squad miniatures for the game's Venus faction. The Kickstarter runs to Sunday evening, December 2nd, 2018 at 8 pm EST. Our initial funding goal is $4,000 CAD, needed to cover the mold costs for the high quality multi-part resin spaceships and give our Backers some great reward packages has already been reached. Now we are working on Stretch Goals to add more weapons and other parts to the various ships. If you love spaceship miniatures please checkout the 8 new spaceships (1/4000 scale) and 9 exo/fighter/bomber squads (1/1000 scale) in the image below. Plus here is an image of the Strap Carrier with different views of the 3d model, exploded parts view, and photos of the actual resin miniature on 3" x 3" acrylic base. The Venus faction don't flaunt their power in the solar system and camouflage their warships as civilian freighters. Hence we have included extra cover plates for weapons and closed hanger sections to make the civilian versions or if you want you can pin the parts and hot swap as desired. You can check it all out at the Kickstarter link below and help us by pledging for one of our great reward levels. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/heavygearblitz/jovian-wars-venus-forces-kickstarter

Turn order ... Some games turn is one full side gose, then the other sides full force gose, easy to keep track of but first shooting or alpha strike army's can make this a kinda lopsided go of it ... Some alternate unit activation witch keeps both sides active and reduces overwhelming fire but leads to several smaller units trying to bleed out the 'activations' of the other player before throwing out an end cap ... their big shooty unit going last one turn then first the next to effectively double tap ... Some have randome activation (colored dice in draw bag) or dice for following activation with command roll ... both good options ... Other popular turn structures ? Turn mechanics ... You know, player A rolls to hit, then rolls to wound then player B rolls to save wounds then maybe a moral check ... I was thinking of cutting this down to Player A rolls for hits ... player B saves vs wounds (putting wound modifiers and armor modifiers together in one roll) with a possible moral roll ... Kinga of war also has a kiss system but player A rolls to hit, to wound, and against player Bs moral value on his turn with player B making all rolls on his turn ... So I have been working on a semi randome (with some player influence) unit activation system with the player A rolling to hit with B save but now wondering if active player making all roll would be more or less intuitive ?

About this project The North… In the ice of an endless winter, man and creatures have fled these spaces. Former outposts of flourishing civilizations, all that is left today are ruins and memories of a time long past. The glaciers have reclaimed their territory and in a slow crawl they once again shape these lands to immortalize their power. Peaks, cliffs, chasms, and snow… This is how this continent is now defined, as all eyes watch with apprehension, as if facing an implacable enemy. THM is proud to present our Chapter 3 campaign featuring the SNOW and ICE scenery pieces! All of our pieces are made with care and carefully packaged so that your experience is flawless. Finely detailed and varied, these terrain pieces are designed for 25-32mm miniatures and works great for any tabletop gaming universe whether it be medieval, futuristic or steampunk! These pieces are cast in the best resin available on the market making them shock resistant as well as easy to paint and carry around. They feature an impressive amount of details and will satisfy the most demanding wargamers and collectors. All items are sold unpainted If this set draws the attention of the community and THM reaches the funding, we have other sketches and pieces to share that will be unlocked according to the project's funding growth. Join the ranks and also give your support to this new thematic!!

So, I really like the Blackstar Corsairs and am going to end up with quite a few of them (25-50). I intend to use them for several things: 1)Along with the IMEF guys, I plan to use the Corsairs for Tomorrow's War (wargame from Ambush Alley Games) 2)Possibly for a Living Steel rpg campaign, though definitely not using the Phoenix Command based original rules since I value not going insane from reading game mechanics. 3)Any other sci-fi rpg's I find myself needing power armor for (Traveller/Star Frontiers/Thousand Suns/etc) I'm planning to do some conversions on some of them to add some special/heavy weapons to the mix. Not sure what those will be yet, might raid some Tau weapons for that purpose as I think they would fit the aesthetic pretty well. Anyway, anyone got any cool plans for these guys? Or suggestions of games they would go well with?

This is the first of my units for my 1/72 WW2 wargame. It's 1/76 scale, but that's close enough to do okay. This kit had very crisp moldings, so it was probably a pretty early run. I'd guess it was made about 1980. I painted the camouflage with a base of old reaper pro paint Griffon Tan, with old pro paint olive and shield brown for the pattern. The little skirt near the bottom is old reaper chestnut brown. I then gave the whole thing a wash in Coat D'Arms brown ink wash, which I thinned an extra 50% to make it flow better. You can see it still caught in some surface places and looks like brown staining, but since it's a tank the dirtier the better. Raised details were then highlighted with a very light drybrush of old pro paint stone grey. The kit itself was rather nice, and has been re-released occassionally by Revell. Fit was overall good and not extremely fiddly. This is my first Char B1 in any scale, and I enjoyed it so much I'm looking for an excuse to get another one. It's a pretty heavy tank for its day so the in-game numbers have to be fairly low or it will be too strong. In most scenarios one of these with a handful of smaller escort tanks will be enough. I didn't apply any markings, partly because the decals are 35 years old and probably useless and partly because I don't know how game markings will work yet. Generic markings may be as well as no markings at all if multiple units are present. For tank types which multiple countries employed, an absence of markings may allow me to have a more useful force without a lot of expense. This tank may re-appear in 1944 as one employed against D-Day landings under the control of occupying german forces as a Pzkpfw B1 (f). The tracks are "rubber band" style, all one piece that snap together and fit on like, well, a rubber band. So they're a little warped. I drybrushed their dark grey color with a bit of reaper gunmetal to add a bit of wear. The kit also includes an FT-17 tank I will probably show later, and also some road, figures, and walls to make a little diorama. Those parts aren't a priority right now, but if I do them then I'll probably share a picture of the whole scene. Additional views: And one with Sir Forescale to give an idea of the size of the tank:

Do people know of lines of very small (two or three inches, max) model ships and boats for tabletop combat? Or have favorites? This isn't urgent, more of a "it would be nice" sort of thing. There's a game coming up likely to involve combat at sea, and actual little ships could help. We can, of course, use Star Trek Battles and X-Wing ships. Or dice, for that matter. But actual little ships would be fun. They don't have to be perfectly historic; fantasy or steampunk ships are okay too. Bonus points to anyone who knows where I can find a little paddlewheel steamship.
