  1. A mountain of a man in life, he was still an imposing figure in death. Presenting Jakob the Giant (The name doesn't make a lot of sense when he's solo like this, but he is somewhat larger than the rest of the skellies in the set), he's part of a Warhammer Underworlds set I've named Reinharts Deaths Heads. Pretty happy with this guy, think I managed to make his armour look well worn without going the rusty route, now I just need to get the rest of the Deaths Heads painted! As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  2. Lady Florence, a member of a more proactive side of the Order of Justicar, who research and seek out lost knowledge and forgotten relics, hoping to secure them before they fall into the hands of evil. She is aided in this task by the Light of Truth, a magical lantern that not only illuminates but reveals things that are hidden. Presenting Lady Florence, one of my many, many, many Warhammer:- Underworlds minis I have to paint up. Not my best work, I kept finding bits I'd missed, but she's done and that's what's most important at the moment. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  3. Presenting Celine, an Elf archer from the Luminth warband in the Warhammmer:- Underworlds game by Games Workshop. Lots of fiddly bits on this one, but she came out alright in the end. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  4. The Ghouls, aka the Flesh-Eater Court faction's warband was the first to be released seperately for Beastgrave, the third season of the Warhammer Underworld game, apart from the warbands in the Beastgrave game set that is. As soon as I saw these, I knew I had to have them. Still, it took me several months after building and undercoating them until I got around to actually painting them. Much like most minis I compulsively buy. I still have first and second season warbands to paint...and most of a ghoul king army... I did these in the same sitting as the Reaper Bones Hungering Dead. Luckily, ghouls can be really quickly painted with good results. These I had undercoated black with white zenithal when I first bought them, before standing around gathering dust for a few months. Alot of pics behind the click:
  5. I have for the longest time been thinking on how to paint these. I knew I did not want to do them all in the official caucasian skin, orange hair that is so prevalent. Options for their look included a Dia de los Muertos or Calaveras de Azucar-style, Pictish blue daub, Voodoo-shadowman-black with painted skeleton on the skin, Tartan punks, Roman legionnary colour scheme...to Ghostbusters "I am the Keymaster" I have a ten year old daughter and when the telly is on, I pretty much get exposed to what she is watching. That themesong is a bit of an earworm. So I noticed that the dragon-headed helmet ornaments all have a little horn above the muzzle. Much like a unicorn... and then that theme song once again came unbidden to mind. There was no denying it. They became My Little Slayers. Because Fyre is Magic! And their helmets probably have horsehair plumes... lots of pictures beneath the click
  6. The Nighthaunts the Nightvault... ok, enough with the bad puns already. I used these to experiment with some color schemes I wanted to try out for my Nighthaunt army that is patiently awaiting to be brought to life. Pic heavy. click to see
  7. The Night Goblins Moonclan Grotz venture forth from their fungus-infested caves to do battle in the Nightvault. Being so small and weedy, they compensate by being many. There are nine of them, one more than the eight starter positions on the game board. So yeah, I went with the fungal theme... pic heavy, click if you dare!
