When the Space Pope absolutely needs someone to die very publicly and messily, he calls upon the services of a Mother Superior. One woman armies with no regard for the collateral damage they cause, towns, cities (and, according to legend, the occasional planet) are reduced to ruins as the Mother Superior single-mindedly pursues her target. Often the eternal struggle to protect Mankind from the Horrors that lurk beyond the stars requires subtlety, but occasionally, you want to send a stonking great message about the consequences of meddling with things you don't understand. Presenting a Mother Superior (AKA Morvenn Vahl, a hero from Warhammer 40k's Sisters of Battle faction), a terrifyingly unstoppable force of divine judgement. Bit of a mixed bag this one, I'm happy with a lot of it, but some bits could be better (like the terrible job I did on her face). At least she's finally done now. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

Finished the Paint job on another marine. I'll need to come up with a cool base. I planned out this time black, red, yellow, blue colors. Here's the first one of this set up. Here's the purebred. Give me feedback. If you'd like this black background let me know.

Thanks to a generous gift from one of my players, I got a chance to paint the new version of Zodgrod Wortsnogga, the first miniature I painted some 21 years ago. I tried to copy the bizarre color scheme of the original Tamiya Acrylics as much as I could, the new plastic version has some drastic design changes. The new one was using all Reaper paints and Army Painter tones.

Any Spaceport bar, where hard-bitten adventurers gather, will have a regular willing to regale strangers with tales of Lady Vulnavia's exploits, and most of the tales contain a reason behind her always veiled face. Is she secretly an exiled alien princess, or was she badly scarred duelling the King of the Space Pirates? Only the Lady knows and she's not telling. Presenting Lady Vulnavia, woman of mystery and leader of the Starstriders. She was part of the (now OOP, I think) Killteam:- Rogue Trader boxset from Games Workshop. Not one of my best paintjobs, but I'm still pretty happy with how she turned out. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

Starting something new, the Starstriders! A band of space adventurers, travelling the cosmos, fighting aliens and stuff. You've got the three ladies:- The deadly assassin, the Rogue Trader boss lady and the helpful medic (they all have proper names, but I sold their accompanying rulebooks so I can't look them up any more). And the three guys:- The leader of the Voidsmen, the mad scientist and the guy with the big gun. And finally, the expendable fodder Voidsmen:- Haven't gotten too far with the painting yet:- I'm starting with a Voidsman (or Voidswoman in this case), to get an idea of what I want their uniforms to look like. At the moment I've painted her jacket Dark Green with a Cork Brown>Red Orange trim and I'm trying to figure out how to shade and highlight it.

Presenting Screamin' Eddie, purveyor of the finest human meat to be found in all the Radlands! Had a lot of fun painting this guy. Originally, he was one of the big Nurgle baddies from Games Workshops Rogue Trader boxset, but I thought he worked well as a more generic Post-Apoc mutant (they all could really). As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

I'm on a bit of Warhammer 40k kick at the moment, so I built and undercoated my other set of Space Adventurers (these ones come from their Black Fortress board game):- These guys represent a more ragtag band of rogues and misfits than my Starstrider band. You've got Elf and Kroot (I think) Rangers, and some sort of Space Wizard. A big robot and a pair of Halfling Scouts. A stylish human adventurer, a Priest and his scary, flame-saw wielding assistant. Starting on the Priest, now known as Father Thadeus:- Just a Dwarf Skin basecoat with Flesh Wash so far.

Hi, ok so it seem having a long "put everything here" thread is not easy for moderator, I am opening a dedicated one for those WH40K orcs :) I am done with the skin pass, obviously more details to go in with brush. going next to get the other parts base coated I think , so I can get an overview of the overall look and color for those guys ( for now it look very green xD )

Presenting Inquisitor Greyfax from Warhammer40k (I'm not quite sure what faction she's part of). My version is a righteous fanatic who travels from world to world, confronting the forces of darkness and passing judgement on those foolish enough to play a part in its machinations. She makes a powerful but untrusted ally for my Space Adventurers. Had a lot of fun painting this one, although she was very time consuming (kept having to go back and fix stray brush-marks). Best of all, I finally managed to pull off a colour-coded power gauge, woohoo! As always, any comments of criticisms are warmly received.

Presenting an Iron Priest from the Space Wolf chapter of the Space Marines. As a Space Wolf I know he's supposed to be a light grey, but his armour panels have this lovely hand-beaten metal-like texture to them, so it seemed a shame not to paint them metallic. He then got more and more colourful from there. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

Little is known of Father Mordicais past, before he pledged his allegiance to the God of Plagues, but the speed at which he and his Chalice Of Filth warband have gained notoriety amongst the multitudes that battle for the attentions of the Dark Gods make him someone to be feared and respected. Presenting Father Mordicai - The Lord of Corruption, he is the leader of one half of Games Workshops latest Warhammer 40K starter set. Not completely happy with this one. Made a mess basing him, there's sand all clumped up around his feet. I also couldn't get his arms to attach properly (they dry-fitted perfectly at the start, so I'm not sure what changed), leaving a sizeable gap around his shoulders. At least I didn't do too terrible of a job painting him. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

Presenting Belisarius Cawl, a millenniums-old, cyborg super-scientist. He's part of Games Workshops Triumvirate of the Imperium figure set, and I've been doing a WIP thread for him here. Now I've got him all assembled he is a little too busy detail-wise (he could certainly do with losing at least one set of arms), but he was a lot of fun to paint up and put together and that's the important thing. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

So while I was stuck on another mini, I was putting together some of my other minis. Unfortunately I'd gotten quite far into assembling this particular one, before I realized I wouldn't be able to pack him away afterwards due to his abundance of tiny, easily broken bits, so he's barged his way to the front of my painting queue. Eventually Cawl will look like this:- But currently he looks like this:- As he also happens to be pretty damn fiddly to paint. Honestly, I would have liked to have left him in even more sub-assemblies, but it would've started to get silly. On the plus side I already have a colour scheme sorted for my little group of GW Cyborgs (even though I still have most of them to paint):- Although Cawl is a bit more complicated than the rest (so much cabling!), and there's bound to be colours in there I no longer have (why did I have to use Ruddy Leather on everything?). Anyways, started on his lower half:- With a basecoat of Medium Olive and a Brownshade wash on the cloth areas. Sadly, the wash didn't do a particularly good job of settling in the folds, so I will need to repaint pretty much all of this.

I finished my trukks finally! Just took some shots outside, to see how the lighting varied. I have a few bits I have to stick back on... ork stuff is truly ramshackle >< haha but otherwise, they're done =D Waiting another 24 hrs to see how the varnish did, and if I need to revarnish them (really important since I tend to do a lot of weathering and these will get handled a lot)

Presenting Grand Master Voldus, he's a special character from that Gathering Storm campaign thing Games Workshop have had going on recently. Still haven't worked out how to paint Space Marine armour properly, but he was fun to work on. As always, any comments or criticisms, are warmly received.

Presenting an Ork Painboy from Warhammer 40K. Had a lot of fun painting him (WIP thread here), and definitely want to get some more Orks in the future (unfortunately they don't seem to have many plastic characters). As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

Another Games Workshop mini, this time it's an Ork Mek with a Shokk Attack Gun, and he has a WIP thread here. A Shokk Attack Gun is basically a short range teleporter with a vacuum cleaner attached, Goblins get sucked up one end and beamed out the other, the aim being to get the Goblins to re-materialize inside your enemies and really ruin their day. Not normally a fan of Orks (or even Orcs), but I just loved all the mechanical gubbins and had a lot of fun painting him (plus I remembered not to completely assemble him before I started painting, which made things easier). As always, and comments or criticisms are warmly received.

Just fancied doing a project thread for no particular reason. Still very much obsessed with Games Workshop minis at the moment, and this one in particular is a Big Mek Ork with a Shokk Attack Gun. (A Shokk Attack Gun is a short-range teleporter linked to an industrial strength vacuum. Goblins are sucked up at one end and beamed out of the other, the idea being to get them to re-materialize inside your enemies. Nothing is going to ruin someone's day like a panicked Goblin suddenly appearing in your stomach.) Haven't got too far yet:- Mini has been partially assembled (I prefer painting once fully assembled, but this one just has too many nooks and cranny's) and mounted on pins. Now I'm just waiting for a free cork (I seem to have misplaced most of mine) and I can make a start on the first piece, the Ork himself.
