Hello again everybody, got this one finished last night. Not quite so sure about the quality of of the photos, but when they are shrunk down to 500 x 500 they look a lot better. Also with him holding up that sword it takes up so much space in the photo itself that everything looks a bit smaller than I'd want it to. Oh well. ​In any case, this is the King of the Realm, a figure from Dennis Mize that originally came in a package of kings from different genres. There was then also a corresponding pack of ladies from the same set of genres, another one of which I'd recently painted. Anyhoos, this one is the barbarian king archetype: and he had a big, empty, round shield so tried to put a dragon on it: So hoping he came out okay.

This is what I decided to do today while the football game was on.. The issue I'm having right now is threefold: First, I mixed Pearl White and Bloodless skin for the horns, but just don't think that looks right.. Any suggestions (my white(ish) color palette is pretty limited) would be awesome.. Second, I have no idea what color to use for the haft of the mace - it doesn't seem like it should be wood, but there's already a lot of iron and blacks in the mini.. Third, the hooves.. what sort of color mix do people use for replicating hooves.. Colors used: skin - a concoction of clotted red, black, tanned skin and a bit of flame red that I'll never be able to replicate again. armor - shadowed steel mace ball - adamantium black bace chain - blackened steel hair and pants (i converted the thong to skintight leggings with a bit of liquid green - my little kids see enough crack on TV without it being on my desk too) - black

Hey all, Wanted to take a break from painting big stompy robots (CAVs) and get back into something with curves. Someone in my pathfinder group just made a new character, a female slayer... So I used that as motivation to paint up this awesome sculpt. I looked around and got heavy inspiration from these two posts by Pingo and Evilcoatrack: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/61985-scáthach-scotswoman-warrior-77389-highland-heroine/ http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69147-77389-highland-heroine-wip/ I decided to try a few new things with this mini, including thinning using matte medium, and a tartan pattern. Tartan is really hard to make look good... If anyone had any tips, I am all ears. I just finished the hair and am really happy with how it came out, and this is probably the best face I have ever done as well (with eyes, no less!). In fact, the irises went on a bit thick, so there is a little dollop that creates a shadow under strong light to mimic a pupil ... Kind of like the opposite of what Roman sculptures do. A fortunate accident. Anyway, C and C appreciated. I reckon I'll have her done by the end of the week. I'll be trying nmm on the sword and shields. This one took a long time to complete. I claimed it finished two times, but got more feedback. Fixed a little here, added a little there.. And as they say; All good things are three. :)

Need somewhere to keep my dwarf army. Thought to build LED underground small garrison fort/outpost. Will have 4 floors Magnetized bottom floor for large models And will try to stuff as much detail as I can. Began with a wooden simple frame, and 2" PinkFoam. Was debating to build up all details and then paint it at once, or paint it in pieces and install them into the box as I go. Do to the nature of the LED lighting, and much uncertainties with LED lighting, I decided to craft it piece by piece instead of all at once. Also, I do not have a good way to cover very large, hard to get to, very detailed area with coats of paint very efficiently, thus will take slower path. Have some plans how to dress up the outside but want to leave that part for last.

Starting my Gnoll/Orc/Gnoll/Orc pattern until I run out of Gnolls. Then I'll splice some other monster in between my many orcs.

It was tough to get a good picture of him. I did what I could. I'd like to know why he is thricedamned... Thoughts?

Was given this for a speed paint for a game a friend is running. They wanted a demonic warrior type. Basically Conan the Evil Barbarian. So came up with this. Went for a weather dusty look for everything. Idea was group come across this beast wandering the desert. Decided to get some use out of GW's Blood for the Blood God technical paint for some quick gore and spatter. Is nice to paint something as have been for the last month and a half splitting my time between work and packing up house in Sydney and then travelling to new home (to be) three hours away and doing renovations on place on weekends. Which unfortunately is not currently set up for painting miniatures or leaving me with much time to paint.

I was going to do some OSL on this guy, but since I've only tried that maybe once before.. he came out too nice to risk trying it.

Vilhanna the Victorious from Red Box Games (currently available through Hasslefree Miniatures as Hanna of Vil). A quickie to improve my 2016 painted stats :) And appreantly I'm still not confident enough to try some free hand on a shield.

This is Jeanne from Hasslefree Miniatures. A miniature I bought on a whim and I'm very pleased with how fast she was to finish, and with rather good result as well. I was on the fence which hair color I should try and use and eventually settled for a rather orangey one.

This is Ingrid, the female viking from Reaper Miniatures. I bought one years ago which after sitting unpainted for to long I finally sold last year. But this year I had a change of heart and had to buy a new one. And now she's finished. Rather pleased with the result, especially with her leather "neck guard". I had some ideas for a symbol on her shield but I didn't dare to try any of them out. So I left it plain for now.

Showing off all the things I've painted recently (over the weekend, actually). As a note, none of them have finished bases - I'll do the bases later. Here's the Darksteel Knight (reaper, bones, 77148), and the Mithril Knight (reaper, bones, 77023). With the Mithril Knight, I'm not sure if he's "done" or not... I was thinking about darkening his sword's steel to make it stand out a little more (he looks almost too "washed out"), and perhaps adding some pale blue filigree to his armor... And maybe a thin coat of pearlizing stuff to his everything to really try to add to the "mithril" effect. Here's my Frost Lich (reaper, bones, 77280) and my Shadowmancer (reaper, bones, 77285). I really like how the shadowmancer turned out, and the "blue" effect on the frost lich seems to work okay - but he just doesn't seem "perfect" somehow. Maybe later I'll learn to do some better "glow" effects. Who doesn't love Mr. Bones? (reaper, bones, 77360) I love this jumping spider. I painted her after a jumping spider that I found on my back door. (reaper, bones, 77126) I want a lot more of this figure to paint, I could have a lot of fun making different colors of spider. Meet Mrs. Beatrice. She's apparently from a game called "Zombicide". I love her.

I've been hitting a slump in my painting that's been keeping me from these forums for quite a while. I'm trying to regain my rythm and getting some pieces done. This is one of them: This is Viggoth the Remorseless, from Red Box Games. He's abit smaller than I would like to but still a great sculpt. Somehow I messed up the varnishing and I just can't for the life of me get some of the glossy spots matt, no matter how much I spray them will dull coat (I've only sprayed him once or twice, I don't want to ruin the whole figure).

Trying to get back into the groove after a vacation with a Hasslefree Miniature: Ulfred. I'm quite happy with the result. I think he looks like a badass :)

Classic bucket head warrior. This guy was fun to paint.

This is an old RAFM dwarf warrior released in 1989 if I remember correctly. He was released for the 'Death in the Dark' miniature skirmish game that RAFM produced way back in the day. I never played the game, but I do have a few of the miniatures in my hoard. This is one of them. He's a little short by today's standards, so I decided to give him a little 'step up'. C and C is very welcome. ETA---and I can see the mistakes, now that they have blown up a gajillion percent.

I painted this guy quickly in about 3 hours tonight. He's apparently going to be a super intimidating D&D character with a heart of gold. Second pic's a bit blurry - sorry!

So, just got the bases finished up on my Stonehaven elves. Out of the five I've been working on, got four of them done and here they are! I'm in a pretty good mood because even though the initial photographed seemingly turned out yellowish and odd, I was able to just hit the Color button on the editing function and they cleared up to very close to their actual photos. I've been painting Ral Partha figures forever and a day, and this was the first time in a while I've moved over to a different brand, and I really enjoyed painting these figures. One of the nice things about these were the size. I'm not going to lie, bigger is easier. I've got another elf I'm working on, still in the WIP, and once I get him done, I'll go back to painting more Partha stuff. But in the meantime, enjoy!

As part of Inarah's old of the year paint binge, I finished off this guy. He's a dwarf warrior made by Grenadier for their old Fantasy Warriors mass combat game. It was intended to be competition for GW's WHFB, but it never quite took off. It's still available (along with a lot of other cool old Grenadier sculpts) from Mirliton miniatures. Table top paint. Let me know what you think.

Here is my first I painted from the Oathsworn Miniatures Burrows & Badgers Kickstarter. The Hare Warrior. While he is intended to be a gaming piece, I'll probable never get to field him (save in a solo battle). So I ultimately stopped fiddling with blending on the NMM. The rules recommend a 40mm base so that is what I went with. Here is how the Hare finally turned out: Thanks for looking and any C&C you feel inspired to post.

Hi folks! It's been a while since I last posted (or painted for that matter). But last weekend, I finished my modified version of Azarphan. Pictures from this miniature aren't found often here or in other boards. I think this is because only few people like his strange helmet (see here). I'm using the mini for a PC playing a cleric of Tempus (god of war) in my D&D 5E game, and wanted him to imiate the colors of his good (as seen here). I swapped the head for one from the Spartan Heads from Scibor Miniatures, in case you wonder. C&C welcome :)

I had a really good time painting these. I had previously painted my Mudcroak as a poison dart frog. When I saw the squog warriors at one of my local stores, I was really excited except....the blister pack only had one squog. Got a deal on him so I only have one warrior. (I can always get more!) I decided to paint him as a tropical tree frog. A friend of mine at another game store had his box of Bones II and gave me his frogs to paint for him. I did his Mudcroak as a tree frog, one warrior as a dart frog, and the last as a corroboree frog. Here they are!
