Trying to get back into a good painting rhytm. Spent a weekend with these two oldschool minis. Not even sure where I got them from... They were primed black and had some stuff glued on their bases already so they looked like good candidates for some quick and fun painting. Here they are. The first one is Brotherhood Mortificator from Warzone game (Target Games). The other one is Cop with a Light Assault Gun (eM4 Miniatures). Not the best neighbourhood, if your police needs a LAG

This year the minis I manage to paint will all count towards the resolutionary challenge. As per the resolutionary painting challenge guidelines, I will post them here, and link in my post in the challenge thread. With the refurbishment of the old house complete and it now up for sale, I have at last some time to paint a miniature or two. It has been more than a month since I touched a brush smaller than two inches wide, and I have come to the conclusion that I utterly detest redecorating houses, especially everything that involves masking tape. I still have a lot of old metal minis lying about, and since I recently moved house I have dug up quite a lot of interesting minis from boxes I had forgotten I had... This time from old-school Warzone: Muawijhe Karnophages Muawijhe is one of the Dark Apostles (=Chaos Gods) and the Lord of Visions, and his followers tend to go a bit mad. Karnophages are changed remnants of humans that tried to strike deals with His Insanity, and consequently have lost all their marbles and gone completely round the bend. They cavort around the battlefield, tearing into their opponents with abandon. Or something like that. Basically your typical human-sized combat demons/cannon fodder. I also have a few I painted back in the day, these are done in a similar enough fashion so I can make a larger squad if I want. Painted for the tabletop, this will be the leader of my Redemtionists in Necromunda. For the uninitiated; They are basically religious fanatics, who believe all sinners must burn away their sins. And anyone who isn't a redemtionist is a sinner. They go around burning anything and anyone they think might be impure. And here is a closeup of his pretty face. I love this miniature. :D

Okay! So I finally had time to break out my camera equipment and take pics of the Spring Exchange, my Summer Exchange yet to go out and to be posted at a later date, and THIS Warzone Dino Guy that I painted up for my son. Turns out he's: Major Johan Emigholtz: Johan Emigholtz is something of an enigma to those who serve under him, which has served to enhance his reputation. Mounted on his saurian beast he is a dangerous close combat opponent. He is quite a young man to have achieved the rank of major in the 103rd Mounted Hussars of Duke Maximillian III. He is a driven man and despite his reputation for ruthlessness he is highly respected for his unswerving professionalism. Equipment: Explosive Tipped Lance, Machine Pistol, Machete. Special Abilities: Tactical Sense, Give Orders, Jungle Fighter, First Strike, Rally Others. Major Johan Emigholtz He's one of the figures from Jasper's Spaceship Superstar contest, and one that I knew my 4yr. old son would love! I did leave off the spear that came with him, as I figured Will may poke himself on it if he ever uses this figure for something other than looking at... which I don't foresee, but Maj. E is difficult enough to handle without an extra pokey part. The base is a 2" wood disk from Michael's, with a crackle paste surface done up in several fun colors, as it's just a fun piece for a 4yr old. I actually like the different colors and may play around with these effects in the future. I don't recall exactly how I did these as I've gotten extremely loose with notes here lately. I want to say they're done mostly with inks... Hmm... I actually had fits with the Major, as I think the dino came out pretty good. The dino was actually very smooth so he became somewhat of an exercise in texture. As far as Maj. E, I played a bit with real rust weathering that I made in house, and a few other things. At any rate, Will is extremely happy with him, and Maj. E has a home on the lowest shelf of our display cabinet so my son can see him anytime he wants to. Here are a few pics: I'm playing around with the auto collage feature on Picasa... Hmmm... At any rate, thanks for looking! I'll be posting what I painted for the Summer Exchange once Generic Fighter verifies he received the package. -K P.S.: Here's the link to the original WIP... There's not much there, but you can see how they started off. LOL!

Two more of those old Warzone minis I got from jasper the 2nd. coincidentally I started playing the mutant chronicles rpg a few months ago, so Max has become one of the player's ex-venusian ranger. Billy's colors were based on the Wesley Snipes character from demolition man

Hello all! So it's a couple days after ReaperCon, and I had a blast! For my first official after RC, I've chosen to FINALLY paint up the Mounted Dino Rider from Warzone. This was one of the prizes I really wanted to win during the Spaceship Superstar contest put on so generously by Jasper! At any rate, this one should be fast and furious as I want to move on to projects that will push the things I learned at RC. With that said, this prep job took quite a while! LOL! So... nothing super spectacular yet! I should also note that I'm adapting to a Pixel Chromebook, so please excuse any photograph shenanigans that my result! Thanks for looking, and stay tuned for more! -K

I finished painting the Mercurian Maculator I got from Jasper the second. He's certainly a giant hunk of metal, with a really awkward seem right at the belt line. I think the official colors was more of a green orc like thing, but I like the idea of a giant red space ape better. Max Steiner is in the first picture just for a scale reference, he's not quite done.

During last years Sci-Fi contest being run by Jasper I managed to trade off some of my first born to acquire the Warzone Dark Legion Pretorian Behemoth. I decided to paint him as a single figure non-reaper entry for this years challenge ... and his is way over 40mm... bottom of base to tip of axe = 190mm I must admit being an older figure the metal and resin casting needed some tender loving care (used sledge hammer and chisel) to clean it up and get it to fit together. So here are my pictures! enjoy!

Had someone take my picture today as I soared over the fields of Afghanistan. Not bad for two deployments.
