- Would you like another one? - Sweety! Keep them coming! And here is St. Pauli Girl for the reference. Thought it would be fun to mimic this outfit colorwise. And it was! 🙂

And while our crew from Part 1 is getting the food set up, the staff of the Wyvern's Head, the local tavern, is preparing refreshments. Friar Stone (brewing consultant and beer enthusiast) and Jock Jockson the Barkeep hoist some furnishings around. Kellerman the brewer starts delivering kegs. (Stonehaven Dwarf Brewer) A couple of the barmaids and tapsters, Poppy Cloverlocks and Mary Muggs, show up to help with the prep work. With the beer and cider ready and the cooks finishing up, we move some food to the bar area. A couple more waitstaff get ready for a busy night schlepping food and ale. (The blonde is from a Nolzur's 2-pack.) Our barkeeps are ready for the rush. And here's the whole jolly crew! (Jock is being as jolly as he gets here.) A round or two with the cooks and suppliers, and let the revelries begin! Good wishes and good feasting to all this harvest season! A few other angles.

I am trying get the -in my opinion- less enjoyable player character-type minis out of the way, which will let me do the more fun monster minis when finishing up the core set, hopefully letting me keep up the motivation to actually get the entire set done as I have wowed to do. #51 Belle the serving wench 25mm base.

Trying my hand at speed painting. This was not done in one sitting, but total time was about 2.5 hours, which is less than half the time it normally takes me to paint a thing. Not perfect, but pretty darn good (for me, anyway) for the time spent. Here is the Wench: Didn’t plan anything out beforehand; color selection was spur of the moment. Her dress is Royal Purple with Nightmare Black shadow, and some BCA Pink mixed in for highlights. Top and apron are Lantern Yellow up through Candlelight Yellow. Tanned Skin triad was used for her flesh, and various leather colors for her hair and accessorizing accessories. Highlights didn’t really work out around her backside, but there was no time to fret over it. And you can’t really tell from the awful photo, but I finally managed to paint a decent eye. And forgot eyebrows. Whoops. C&C welcome.

This lovely lady was a lot more fun to paint than I'd expected, and I let myself slow down a bit and really experiment with improving my shading and highlighting. I'm super happy with how her dress and apron turned out! Her face...not so much. I'll explain why below the pictures. Oh, and when I was trying to figure out what color to make her hair, even though I think brown would have looked better, I decided I couldn't resist making her a redhead. Yay pictures! I'd put the basecoat on her skin and was about to start highlighting when my right eyelid starting twitching pretty badly. It would go for awhile, then stop, then go for a bit, then stop again, etc. It seriously messed with my ability to focus on close-up work, so I decided to just make a stab at her mouth and leave the rest alone. I'm not super happy with how it turned out, but at least I didn't end up with a Joker-faced bar maid in the end (she was looking kinda scary for awhile, lol). I also didn't get a chance to reduce the lining around her eyes; it's pretty heavy right now. Once I get back to my painting desk on Sunday, I'll tidy it up, highlight her skin, and fix a few little fiddly bits (such as the rag in her pocket that I totally forgot about, and adding shine dots to her eyes). I'm actually really wishing I'd taken the time to remove the mold lines from her; I didn't originally expect her to be more than a 1-2 hour quick paint job. Lesson learned! Colors used (in order from shade to highlight): Dress and hairband: Gothic Crimson Spattered Crimson Big Top Red Apron and shirt: Ginger Cookie 1:1 Ginger Cookie:Linen White Linen White Vest and headband: Frontier Blue Soft Blue Templar Blue Hair: Auburn Shadow Carrot Top Red Highlight Orange Eyes: Brown Liner Linen White Skin: Rosy Shadow Lips: Big Top Red Gothic Crimson (between the lips) Mugs: Driftwood Brown (drink) Linen White (drink) Aged Pewter (mugs) Ground: Brown Liner Driftwood Brown Group picture! Naptime's over! Lady McGee is kind enough to bring over the beeeeeeeeest hot chocolate in the land! (you probably thought I was going to say beer, didn't you? ) Hot chocolate with whipped cream on top is one of my favorite winter treats! Peter spider isn't interested, though. This is the figure I painted for Day 10 of my "paint one mini per day all of November" challenge. Link to index thread: http://forum.reaperm...ay-in-november/ Huzzah! --OneBoot :D
