Working on another seasonal project, this time it's witches for Halloween! Made a start on their skin today:- Maiden is a base of Rosy Flesh with a Flesh Wash. Mother is a base of Dwarf Skin plus a Flesh Wash. And finally, Crone is a base of 1:1 Rosy Skin/Ghost Grey and a Flesh Wash. Next, is finishing their skin plus eyes and teeth. Pretty sure I won'r get these done by Halloween, but I'll try.

Inspired by the weekend question, I took some pictures of the army thus far and found that posting it in the question thread would be excessive, also that I didn't have an ongoing thread for my largest painted army so here it is. The plan is to get my Shelf of Incompleteion cleared off then work on reinforcements for this alongside my Old School Undead army. Here we have the Pumpkin construct unit led by a Storybook Witch from Old Glory. I have 3 more of her, but the bag only came with the one flight stand and the Reaper ones I have don't fit, when I get around that, they'll form their own unit. Behind her is Rotpatch, and the scarecrow is hanging out with these guys until I can get a couple more. The constructs are filling the slot of core infantry. Here is a Ral Partha Witch leading the Pumpkin Knight heavy infantry consisting of the Halloween Knight and converted Barrow Wardens. Willow Greenivy leading the skeletal Pumpkin Guard. 10 newer GW skeletions and a variety of Reaper Bones. Elise with the Pumpkin Chucker and some Bones skeletal archers providing ranged support. A female Necromancer and the Etherial Legion of ghosts and wraiths. An Iconic Witch, Pumpkin Spider, and friends. A converted Brettonian Sorceress with the skeletal heavy infantry. Basically, what happens when adventurers irritate the witches. Bats, wolves, and allied vampires. Another vampire and werewolf allies. Zombies, ghouls, and another Reaper Witch. Beastmen and hell hounds with an infernalist witch.

A set of nice sculpts that go with the old school evil witch vibe. Here they are in their "natural enviroment", a piece of terrain I made years ago which I really ought to update. Below are some individual shots...

The witches are done in a pin up style with plenty of personality, and are ready cast their spells and curses on the gaming table. As soon as the campaign ends production and delivery of the miniatures will commence. The goal is to have the miniatures in your hands within a month of the campaign ending. Picture is to show witch miniature scale comparison between two REAPER miniatures. Risks and challenges Little risk other than small mail delivery delays from the postal services. The miniatures are ready to be cast.

A repurposing of what was once an innocent craft store decoration into the abode of witches and their minions. What horror dwells within... Willow Greenivy and friends emerge to traumatize the trick or treaters.

So, for many moons, and mostly during my "Reign of Winter" campaign, I had been looking for a kit of basic stereotypical witches. The West Wind/Old Glory/Ghost kit "Story Book Hags and Witches" seemed the best fit, however, very few merchants had them in stock in the USA. Someone pointed me toward Noble Knight's recent sale, and I found the blister still in stock! Surprisingly, it was a coven of four! I had always assumed witches came in three, even in inventory. So, to start, we have the Coven as a whole: A Hag pointing the group towards mayhem: The grunt(ilda) bearing spell ingredients: A cauldron plus victim, useful for so many adventures: A broomrider bearing a familiar: And the fourth, another witch taking to the sky:

So, when I get both a sale notice and a back-in-stock notice at the same time, I get weak: At least the back three are appropriate for the upcoming "Storm King's Thunder" campaign, right?

A friend of mine is running our group through the Pathfinder adventure path "Reign of Winter" Because I am a sadist, I decided to try and paint up something as a present for him in appreciation of running such a long series of modules. In addition, I am working with the folks at http://impudentmortal.com/ to create the hut (while I will be sculpting the chicken leg base).
