  1. Presenting Alfredo "The Dandy" Francini, a low level mobster with a love of brightly coloured clothes, he's part of the Scylla faction from the now defunct (I think) game Wolsung by Micro Arts Studio. This guy has been sitting in my 'to be painted' pile for far too long, so I worked on him for the last couple of weeks in between other projects. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  2. Presenting 'Pop' Bodkin (From the game Wolsung by Micro Art Studio) father of Hazel Bodkin, he works in the same automaton factory as a maintenance engineer. Like many older, country born Halflings he hasn't got into the habit of wearing shoes, despite the near-constant danger of something heavy falling on his toes. Turned out to be a surprisingly characterful mini, so I had a lot of fun painting him. Still need to work on my stamped bases. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  3. Presenting Hazel Bodkin (She's from the game Wolsung by Micro Arts Studio), walking home from her shift at the new-fangled automaton factory, she always makes sure to carry her slingshot, just in case she runs into one of those ruffians who make a sport of tormenting the wee folk. Made a bit of a mess painting her boobs (it was harder to get a brush in there than I thought it would be) and I'm still not great at using my basing stamps, but overall I'm pleased with the result. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  4. Presenting Cal and Aponne, an Ogre and Halfling duo working for the Scylla crime family faction in the (possibly defunct) game of Wolsung. Had this one sitting in The Cupboard of Unfinished ThingsTM at 75% done for about 3 years or so, so thought I'd get him finished while waiting for other things to dry. It also highlights how little my painting has improved over the years As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  5. Yet another Wolsung mini, this time it's the Dwarf Gardener, he's fully equipped to deal with any young'uns that stray on to his lawn. Had a lot of fun painting this one, he's just so unusual! As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  6. Presenting Roberto Vendetta, part of the Halfling crime family faction from the (possibly defunct) game Wolsung by Micro Arts Studio. Extremely pleased with how this little guy turned out, I honestly think he's one of my best paint jobs to date. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  7. Presenting an Ogre Gangster, part of the Halfling Mafia faction (the Ogres do the heavy lifting) from the game Wolsung by Micro Arts Studio. Really pleased with the job I did on him (He's got eyes! Always feel extra happy when I can do their eyes), just wish my stupid Vallejo varnish hadn't made him so shiny in the wrong places. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  8. Presenting another Ogre Gangster from the game Wolsung by Micro Art Studio. Casting wasn't too good on this one, he's got pits, cracks and rough patches all over him, but I still think I did a decent job. He's also my final Ogre Gangster (I've still got a few Halfling Gangsters to paint though), so here's a group-shot:- As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly appreciated.
  9. Presenting a fearsome Ogre Gangster from Micro Art Studios Wolsung game. My latest attempt to re-ignite my painting mojo was to work on a mini from my part-painted pile, see if actually finishing something would give me a boost. So I got this guy done over the weekend. He was a lot of fun to paint despite the fact I'd only painted his coat previously and no longer remembered which browns I'd used, so I had to paint everything else very, very carefully. As always, any comments and criticisms are greatly appreciated.
  10. Presenting the Biocognator Golem from Wolsung, a steampunk robot piloted by a pair of lab mice who are determined to take over the world. There is a WIP thread for it here. Biggest lesson I've learnt painting this one? Don't use Vallejo Gunmetal Blue as a main colour! There's a nicely detailed mini in there somewhere, but the metallic blue just makes the whole thing too dark when photographed. As least it looks fairly good in hand. Any comments and criticisms are, as always, warmly received.
  11. Another finished Wolsung mini, this time it's the Sumo Wrestler from the Triad faction. Super annoyed I didn't spot that thumbprint on his base until after I'd got him attached, but I think the mini itself turned out really well. As always, any comments and criticisms are greatly appreciated.
  12. Presenting the Ogre Coffin-bearer, part of the Scylla faction in Wolsung. Decided to go really colourful and comic-booky with him, and I think it worked. Spats turned out to be surprisingly difficult to paint though. Any comments or criticisms are, as always, most appreciated.
  13. Presenting Vito Vendetta, the undead Halfling mobster from Micro Art Studios Wolsung. Painted him purely to try out my new rust paints on his chains, probably should've chosen something simpler for a first attempt, but I think they turned out pretty good, as has the mini overall. As always, any comments or criticisms are greatly appreciated.
  14. Painted this one a while ago, but I've been waiting for my basing stamps (so I could make a fancier cobblestone base than my own mediocre skills could manage). I used a wash on his clothes to catch all the holes and rips in them, which resulted in him being a bit messier than I would like, but overall I think he looks fairly good. Any comments and criticisms are, as always, most appreciated.
  15. Been desperate to start on my Wolsung stuff, unfortunately most of it needs to be based before I can start painting, and I can't base any of it because I'm waiting on some basing stamps (to make more awesome cobblestones than I can create with my current sculpting skills). But I did find a couple I could mount on corks, Ms. Suess and a Ghoul (both from the Ven Rier faction):- Currently waiting for the Primer to fully dry, so it'll probably be tomorrow before I make any more progress.
  16. 'This style of boxing has been past down the Armstrong line for generations!' This is one of the three Wolsung minis I picked up to see what they looked like in the 'flesh' before all the ones from their recent Kickstarter arrive. Struggled a bit figuring out how to paint his trousers and hat, but I think I did okay overall. Comments and critiques are welcome.
