I have a lot of minotaurs. I share them with you here. You can share yours too if you like. This one is big, 50mm toe to brow, nearly 100mm total height. Believed to be from Games Workshop in the '90s. Base is hand-built from wood, sand, and acrylic gel. I meant for the color to resemble a black Angus bull, but it turned out more like a gorilla. This was my exchange piece for Fanguard His suggestion in the instructions was to try a non-caucasion skin tone, so I went with it Made a bit of history for his kind The centaurs of the Savanna, a mighty and mysterious group, differ from their more normal Centaur cousins by a number of things. Their skin is dusky, while their equine halves are black and white striped like zebras. What little is known of them is known from distant observation, and conversation with one particular chatty stallion warrior that had decided to answer the questions of the inquiring scholar, Aberforth Arnuckle. Aberforth describes them as a very natural race, respecting the earth and nature, killing only what they require to eat and in self defense. He said that they do not harm zebras, perhaps considering them, being so similar to themselves, as special. All parts of a killed animal are used, with the hide used as clothing or containers, the bones from weapons, tools, and jewelry, and so forth. What little is known of their gods seems to imply that their main god takes on the shape of an Okapi, that mysterious creature of the central rainforests. Or perhaps Okapi are messengers of the gods, or something like that. It is known that they despise lions and will drive them away when a pride is seen. A warrior that can take on a male lion or leopard is greatly respected, while a warrior that takes on the most feared enemy, the ferocious hippopotamus, is revered as touched by the gods.

Here’s my current progress on a diorama I’m building, starring the Bones Hydra! Some backstory… "In the great grassland plains in the south, where immense herds of hooved beasts roam and mighty elephants traverse the sea of grass and islands of forest, there lives a mighty predator. This is the Plains Hydra, a tawny-gold monster that manages to thrive in the savannah. It relies on ambush to capture prey, hiding in the tall grass and waiting for them to graze nearby. As it is quite a large animal, it often has to evacuate a pit in the soil to help hide its bulk, with its heads stretched out and hidden in the grass, waiting…sometimes for days…before prey wanders within reach. With its stubby forelegs more suited for digging and supporting the weight of its heads, it cannot pursue prey very well. So if it misses its initial lunge into the herd, it could possibly wait for weeks before it has another chance. Because of this, all five heads attack at once, increasing its chances that at least one snapping maw will make a kill. Often the herd is so confused and startled that the victim would run away from one head straight into another. It has a powerful sense of smell and will take advantage of any carrion it scents on the wind" And there you have it!
