  1. This is Tamiya's rather elderly 1/35th scale KV-1b Heavy Tank. The kit was originally issued in 1975, reissued in 1978 with revised wheels and a large boxy turret to make a KV-II Heavy Tank with a 152mm howitzer, then revised again in 1988 with a new turret and supplemental armor. I started this one 10 years ago and built it up to the point where it was ready for airbrushing, then I set it aside. I picked it up again in December '16. Testors Model Master enamel paints, artist's oil black wash for the panel lines and recesses, the same for a pinpoint wash around bolts and various fittings, Reaper MSP Earth and Leather Browns for a weathering base, and assorted brown and tan chalk pastels to give a late summer dusty look. Assorted metallic and brown colored pencils for the scrapes, scratches, and paint chipping. Qs and Cs welcomed. Glen
