  1. Decided these two went together, with the grandmother figure maybe working in the innkeeper's inn, and painted them with the same colours. Quickie paint jobs for both. Not thrilled with the way the green turned out...
  2. So I have a ranger beast master character who has a goat companion. I hated the fact that Hildir and her goat come on one base. So I separated them. Next will be some combination of the 2 bones figures. Ideally I will take the grandmother's upper body and attach it to the legs of rioter, but her waist is much narrower. If that looks weird, I'll just do a head transplant! Then arms hollowed out for a toothpick staff.
  3. So I have been lurking for a long time, finlly getting around to posting something. I have been practising on bones, well because they are cheap. And because they require so much prep, the moold lines, resculpting noses, redoing details, I have been learning a lot. Anyway, here is my attempt at some townsfolk. I was practicing doing whites on the aprons, and faces on both of them. I need to work on my photography set-up, this is with my cell phone, and looks pretty blurry. C&C appreciated.

    Bones Townsfolk

Think this is my last post for this last batch of photos, thanks for looking this week at all my stuff! I went in to painting my townsfolk with one goal, to use more colors. In some places I succeeded, others not so much. I ended up using a lot of glazing for the bigger cloth areas, I think I may need to hit it all with another coat of matte sealer now that I have seen how some of the pictures came out though. Pretty shiny here and there unfortunately. First up, the chorus shots: Then the individual cast photos... Thanks for hanging in there all week with me!

    Evilhalfling's November

It has been a busy month: Finari Astrid the Bard Mummy lich Townsfolk with broom Terrible pirate, finaela Her torso and legs seem to be different scales. Her breasts could be that low, if she was a old women with several kids, but the bikini wouldn't hang like that. If I re-carved her chest and added a breastplate it might look better, but still not perfect. 1: Has anyone else painted her? Well of Chaos the water stain is not as dark as I would like, and I'm not sure the white glue in the basin worked very well, I considered adding a stream of water 2: how do you create a stream of water? GW Clanrat - with basing! this was from a basing thread, it was allot of fun! I'll add some commentary in a bit. One thing the Finaela, the terrible pirate is just a bad mini. I should probably just pitch it. unfinshed wall of ghosts - So I was attempting to replicate the successful look of my large fire elemental. It goes white-yellow-orange-red. after talking it over with my wife, i decided that it needed more colors - If I add dark green to near black, it will add more of an undead feel, and probably look better. picture unrelated:
  6. In spite of my initial inclinations to leave all the townsfolk in stunning black & white, I started painting them in colours after all. The first of them out the gate is this housemaid or charlady or serving girl or whatever you want to call her. She's figure number 77088: Townsfolk: Grandmother, though she doesn't look very grandmotherly to me. This could be quite a flexible gaming piece in terms of time period; she could serve for pretty much any time from the 1300s to the 1920s.
  7. Here is my quick paintjob of the Bones grandmother (77088) with broom. For comparison, here is the same figure in metal (Reaper 2825) I painted in 2010, I think I have leveled up as a painter since then Edited to add SKU to title.
