  1. Painted up the bones blacksmith last night. Blue jeans for everyone!
  2. Bones blacksmith, plus his color reference.
  3. I couldn't get him quite like I wanted, but charcoal all over seemed like the right look for a blacksmith. The biggest problem was applying it. anywhere I could get my finger looked fantastic, but left him oddly clean around the pliers and next to the anvil. You can see it much better on the cobblestones in the first and second pictures. I think I worked out a good fix, but it doesn't look as good in the areas it did go. I think I'm going to need to dullcoat him for protection. Any ideas for quick fixes before that would be welcome, as would general advice/recommendations/suggestions for improvement.
  4. Yep, another of the townsfolk! And another relatively speedy paint job, probably about 3 hours total. If I could stop messing up the things I'd just finished so I didn't have to redo the mini half a dozen times, I'd probably be downright fast at this point... I'm finding the greyscale+glaze technique particularly useful for leather... I've always struggled to get decent highlighting on leather, but I feel like this is working out pretty OK. Thoughts?
  5. Howdy, Hatchet job for NaMiPaMo day 4... Can't touch this. Hammer time, Kev!
  6. Got out my paints again. I am switching from Games Workshop paints to Army Painter. I bought myself a full set for Christmas. I am having trouble getting used to the thicker paint. Strumpet Blacksmith
  7. Think this is my last post for this last batch of photos, thanks for looking this week at all my stuff! I went in to painting my townsfolk with one goal, to use more colors. In some places I succeeded, others not so much. I ended up using a lot of glazing for the bigger cloth areas, I think I may need to hit it all with another coat of matte sealer now that I have seen how some of the pictures came out though. Pretty shiny here and there unfortunately. First up, the chorus shots: Then the individual cast photos... Thanks for hanging in there all week with me!
