  1. This is one of those practice figures I had lying around, a Bones mini I didn't clean the flash off or prepare much, but was just painting for fun and practice while I was doing other things. (So I don't have a WIP, although I might be able to recreate one.) Then one of my GMs looked at it and said Yeah, that one, we'll need that. So I refined it up and finished it. This is a charmingly ludicrous female necromancer from the imagination of Bob Ridolfi. I painted her up with stark white skin -- oh, I can't remember why, originally, but now she is going to be u
  2. Well, this isn't the prettiest miniature I've painted, but I'd intended it more for practice in getting better at blending and highlighting than to be a fantastic final product, since I think my previous minis tended to have very stark transitions. Thought process and more photos at: link On the whole, while it has room for improvement, I kind of like how it turned out. The blending on the scythe blade could've been better, but I think it's a big step forward from what I was ending up with on previous minis. The white and yellow still jump out more than I'
  3. I have for you two day both a commission ( the dwarf ) and a figure painted by a student ( the Necromancer ). I offer painting classes at my store and this was one of the first minis painted by a student with 0 prior experience I think all things considered she turned out amazing. One of my favorite part of the mini's hobby is getting to make custom bases and even though the base on the dwarf Captain may seem simple I feel it brings a lot to the character and makes them feel like they are on the deck of a ship.
  4. These are a group of vampires I am painting up for Halloween. They include the Reaper Bones figures 77282: Vampire and 77283: Necromancer (painted up as a vampire, because why not), and the old classic Grenadier Set 606 "Vicious Vampires", now sold by Mirliton Miniatures in Italy (I had that set when I was a child, but for some reason I only remember the swoopy-caped male and the little female; the male in the "flasher" pose I remember not at all). The Bones figures are primed with a wash of Reaper's "Brown Liner", the Grenadier ones with a priming of Titanium White and a wash of Burn
  5. 77283: Necromancer Bob Ridolfi I love this sculpt. Hopefully this paint job does it justice. Bone shadowing looks a little brighter than in person. Tricky lighting angles. There are more dark elves to come. I have an army to assemble.... today probably.
