The girl next door requested a dragon for her birthday, after she saw me give one to somebody else. I really hate giving away miniatures, because I feel my painting is not good enough for displaying to random people. But.. What can you do? :P Soo.. I figured I'd give it a go. My take on Bones Aina, Painted last year. I tried a freehand on the shield supposed to look like a seaserpent thingy. EDIT : took some better pics.

A little background first. Back at the beginning of June I was approached by an employee of my FLGS with a "Hey I hear you paint miniatures, want to enter our contest?" Well at first I was not going to as the deadline was less then two weeks away, I had other ones I needed to work on, and as your entry fee, you needed to buy a miniature from the store (problem since I have too many as it is). But I wanted to support the store so I made a list of Bones that I want to paint and out of the about ten that I choose, this was the only one they had. After dragons and some orcs & goblins, I tried my hand at Aina. Painting the face was quite difficult (especially the eyes) but I do notice that practice makes better. I do wish I had a better detail brush (and maybe a more steady hand)...
