    Ral Partha Archangel

Mini appears to be this guy. I was going for a kind of unearthly celestial glow with him, though it came out really strangely in the hair. Still, fun to paint :-) Update: I didn't like how his base looked. Although it was transparent, it didn't give the illusion of floating, so I added some "clouds", which is closer to what I wanted, but still doesn't quite give the flying illusion. :-/ If anyone has any suggestions on how I can make him look more like he's flying, I'm all ears :-) Thanks!
  2. Hey everyone! So sorry I've been gone from the forums so long (I miss you all badly and will be catching up with life on the forums again now!), but life has been a very wild (but also very good!) ride this summer/early fall, and I just let projects pile up and kill my motivation. Consequently, I decided to push everything aside and just paint a simpler mini that I've long wanted to work on in order to knock the rust off my painting skills! Plus, seeing the excellent James Wappel painting all of his cool Archangels while mine languished in their blisters was just too much for me to take! She definitely has some flaws, and my blending is not as smooth everywhere as I would like, but she was a fun mini, and I loved working on her! Thanks so much for looking, and I'm so glad to be back with all my painting friends!!!
  3. I was trying my best to finish this one for the 2013 Dragons painting contest, but could not make it in time. Maybe there will be another contest this year that I can toss him into :) The Archangel took me a week to assemble and a couple of plastic pieces just crumbled in my hand, so I had to sculpt a couple of things myself. The painting took me about 2 weeks, hours and hours... Finally the base took less than an hour. Other than a couple of crumbly plastic bits, everything went smoothly and I think he came out nice. The Proteus and Scythean were touch ups on models I had already painted and posted. Here and Here I tried to make the highlighting match the Archangel. The new paints seem like an improvement to me. I hope you enjoy them!

    St. Michael the Archangel

I converted two Reaper Miniatures (Achiah, Male Angel, and T`Quan, Skoli Warrior), both by the very talented Sandra Garrity: Here's how the model looks so far, after 5 hours of painting (click to view larger): (I'll post updates here as I go, but you can find more detail in my Blog). Thanks for looking!
