  1. Hello friends!! I'm wanting to do a little market research and I'm hoping I can get your help. For Bones V I sculpted a bunch of kids heroes and their pet companions. These were some of my favorite figures to work on and I'd like to do more. To be very very clear I have NO indication that Reaper will be producing any more of those types of figures and I'm in no way promising to create anything we discuss here. I have no shortage of ideas when it comes to new kid heroes but I'm wanting to see what types of figures people would want if hypothetically I decided to create
  2. Howdy, Here is the little girl to go with the bucket boy... Kev!
  3. I have some clear plastic Christmas ornaments that I am going to make little scenes and put the Mystic Warrior children from Hasslefree in for my grandkids for Christmas. So I went from painting big ol' Marthrangul to little bitty kids. (I had a dwarf mage painted in between.) So today was my paint day with a friend. I snipped them off their bars and used my friend's jeweler's drill to drill tiny little holes in their feet for pins. Their feet and legs are so tiny, my usual pinning equipment was too large. I cleaned up all their flash and mold lines, washed them, and th
  4. Hasslefree Children - isn't that a contradiction in terms? Smurf me sideways, these are tiny!
  5. With only a week to go I finished the miniature I plan to give dear mum. She is a bit more of an artist than myself so I made a painter out of one of the townsfolk children. And she loves to garden so I put some flowers on the base and freehanded one on the front of the jumper. Can anyone guess what the bag is supposed to be?
  6. Once a year my husband and I run a Paint and Take table at a local convention, Recruits. It's held at the high school, admission is free for all area students, games are child friendly, etc. We get a great turnout. The paint table is free for kids of all ages, even grownup kids, and it is funded entirely with donations. All of the figures, all of the paint, water cups, brushes, etc come from the wonderful community we have here, from the internet, and from vendors. It's typical for me to arrive early Saturday to set up and find one or more anonymous boxes of figures or paint waiting. A c
  7. I decided to let both my sons paint a few of my Bones figures over the weekend. The weather was dire so I expected a few hours of interest. The youngest (4.5) lasted about and hour where as the oldest (6) kept going for five hours until I had run out of primed models. I was really impressed with how they did although I did buy cheap brushes as the concept of maintaining a tip didn't stay for very long. Drybrushing and a few washes were used and I have since varnished the models. Here was the first set of models. Here was my youngest sons model. And here
  8. Here's some more of my old Citadel pre-slotta goblins which I have been painting this week. These are some goblin children (FTG12). Ahhhhh, aren't they cute, although the boy does look a little grumpy! The girl is carrying a little rag doll which I painted up to match her - kind of like a "(goblin) mini me". I've kept the bases as they are for the "old school" look on my display shelf. Thanks for looking!
  9. The thing about kids is that even if a task calls for a few specific items? ALL related items must be dumped onto the floor and scattered hither, thither, and yon. If one must drive a screw, forget just getting a screwdriver -- the ENTIRE TOOLBOX must be upended and all tools examined and touched and then left out, that the invisible pickup elves will have something to do after dark. The thing about kids is that being WAITED upon is not the same as having someone wait on YOU. Waiting thirty seconds between the lunch bell and being able to flee the room like rabid vikings is a bitter, unfai
  10. So I received my Bones II pledge Monday last week, and as I was sorting through them my 2-year-old daughter saw them, and said 'I want to play with the dragons' - probably something to do with my letting her play with the dragons I picked up in Bones I as she's decided that all plastic figures in bonesium are dragons. Based on her interest, I decided to dump all the Bones figures I have into a 10 litre tub and give them to her to play with in her playpen (pulling out those that I have a specific use for). This has lead to her learning a few new words, like elemental, giant, ogre and ch
  11. This work is going to be a diorama in support of human rights in China. In particular, it will protest their horrendous one-child policy. The scene will feature a mother, defending her three children from Chinese police. At this point, I'm still at the planning stage. I would love any advice or ideas you all might have to share! Mother will be 50260: Xiufang, Femme Fatale Children will be the girl, baby, and the boy on the far right from 03233: Townsfolk: Children. Chinese policeman #1 will be 50036: Saburo Aritomo, Meiji Japanese Officer, with the mustache removed, and the
