  1. Another addition from WIP completion. WIP Link here. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/91014-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-7-kagunk/&tab=comments#comment-1931906 I was going for an Ice Ogre vibe here. Being that he is likely surrounded by frost-resistant and fire-vulnerable enemies, I wanted his shield to be a fire weapon. This has always been a favorite model of mine from BONES I. I hope you like it as much as I do.
  2. This is one of the warband of Orcs from Bones I. I though all of these had a lot of character. I painted them up as light grey-green based on some of the Dungeon Dwellers paint sets. The wood grain inside the shield is freehand. Here is the WIP for the whole group. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/93235-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-12-orcpocalypse/ If I had it to do over again I’d change the fur colors, because they blend in with the chainmail. Here are the group shots. Enjoy.
  3. Here is the big boss of the Bones I Orc Warband. With all of these Orcs they are shadowed with a purple color. I added some green freckles/sun spots for a little interest. For his shield trophies, I included some skin tones and hair colors that could represent elf, dwarf, human, goblin and undead. The wood planks and boards on the shield are freehand. Kavorgh got a little extra love with the bloodstain on the axe. WIP here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/93235-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-12-orcpocalypse/ And the group shot. Enjoy.
  4. Here is another of the Orc Warband from Bones I. He had a very bent sword, so I swapped it with one from the Bones III weapon sprue. WIP Here. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/93235-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-12-orcpocalypse/ And the group shot. Enjoy.
  5. Here is another of the Orc Warband from Bones I. WIP Here. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/93235-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-12-orcpocalypse/ And the group shot. Enjoy.
  6. Linked photos due to nudity. This was a quick paint job trying out the Golden Skin triad. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gv67iiqzdbmkgnp/AABkN4rQVefNZkapQ8dJLibna?dl=0 I’ve never tried Dropbox before, let me know if it doesn’t work right.
  7. Here are some harpies. Linked due to nudity. When possible, I’ll try to paint Metal along with Bones if I have the same mini in both media. I found these a little odd, with feathers on part of the wings but serpent scales on the thighs. So I went chromatic dragon colors. The feet/claws were based off some raptor pictures off the net. Also tried three different skin tones: African, tanned, and ruddy, with correspondingly ?appropriate hair colors? I gave two beach bases and one a rocky base. Enjoy. FYI black scales with white feathers is BONES, and the other two are Metal. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/0ukqgzcvl45o33a/AADc0CkmAcGnUSlhD9bRjTZ6a?dl=0
  8. Here is another of the orc warband from Bones I. His spear was too floppy, so his spear tip is a weapon swap from the weapon sprue from Bones III. WIP link: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/93235-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-12-orcpocalypse/ And the group shot. Enjoy.
  9. Here is another of the Orc Warband from Bones I. WIP link here. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/93235-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-12-orcpocalypse/ Here is the group shot. Enjoy.
  10. I take pics during WIP. But I tend to take a year off between posts to Show Off. Link to WIP to follow. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/88595-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-5-deladrin/&tab=comments#comment-1884050 My model had a miscast to the right side of her face, so I just left it as an exaggerated shadow. I went with an idea for eventually having a similar ranger-y type with seasonal Camo on her cloak, reversible with black on the inside. This is the first. Autumn. The phone camera washes out my colors a fair bit, so I tried my best to true-up with image correction. I hope you enjoy.
  11. I’ve been going through BONES I mostly in order, doing several WIP. This was the next. I wanted to try to improve on my OSL so he got a green magic glowing gem. Still not great, but the idea comes across. Link to WIP. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/92763-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-10-satheras/&tab=comments#comment-1965284 I didn’t bother trying to paint his eyes due to the extreme shadowing...
  12. Another that started as a WIP. I was going for an East Indian skin tone. I find this figure curious for a mage, with armor and a spear. And strange scalloped shapes on her back. The color washes out the difference between the orange and yellow colors, sadly. WIP Link below. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/90829-darcstaar-vs-bones-1-episode-6-devona/&tab=comments#comment-1928602 Enjoy.
  13. Sometimes you just speed through one. I had this one on my shelf for a while. Pulled it down to try a new skin triad, and also to teach my son a few pointers. Tried to weather his apron with some gouges and oil stains. I also consciously made his pants like blue jeans, so he could cross over into other genres.
  14. Another quick and dirty. No blending in the skin/fur. A night’s work showing my son about painting fire. No WIP. Sorry the face close up is out of focus.
  15. Such a fun idea for a mini! But then you have to paint all the dragon scales. I was going for a more Asian skin tone. I tried to speed through this one since her sword was so bent. WIP link below. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/92275-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-8-janan-female-dragonslayer/&tab=comments#comment-1955669 Enjoy.
  16. I’ve been working on this dragon too. It has some serious lean. In order to try to address this, I cut the front feet away from the back feet, and from each other. I was hoping gluing the to the base separately would do it, but no! Still serious lean. I decided to pin the feet to the base, but as I played with it, realized the back feet, left and right front feet would all have to be at different levels. It’s now straight and erect. I had to chop and reposition the tail for this, or else the tip dipped below the level of the base. Now I need to sculpt green stuff supports around these pins. Then I’ll try to turn them in to rocks.
  17. Just pulled these out of the drawer. One of these Orcs was next in line on the Bones I Kickstarter Rewards image, so I’ll try to squad-paint them together to save time. They have been cleaned of mold lines. The spearman’s spear was very bent, as was the great sword. So, those got weapon swapped with basic weapons from Bones 3. Those are darker grey. Washed them, so just waiting for them to dry. Also had to gap fill spearman’s wrists.
  18. Hi people. Im going to start another PBP. So far I have interest from @ShadowRaven, @dwarvenranger, @Dilvish the Deliverer, and @Kangaroorex. We’re going to start the Serpent’s Skull adventure path. Pathfinder 1e. All books are in play, but I reserve the right to veto something if it seems too gross/bloated. Please utilize the Serpent’s Skull Players Guide from the Paizo website. Abilities: 4d6, reroll all 1’s, drop lowest score, yielding ranges from 2-18 pre mods. Avg. Starting gold. We’ll follow the AP leveling track when possible. We’ll have individual initiative. I hope to get this started soon, so please post those characters. -edits- House Rules 1. HP beyond first level. Roll the hit die. If the roll is less than”avg” then take avg instead. Example: Wizard d6. Rolls a 1. Gets 4hp instead, before Con mod. 2. Acrobatics can be used to avoid AOO when standing from prone. 3. If someone is not responding and action is waiting for them, I’ll send a pm after 24 hours. If no response 24 hours later, I’ll take over that character to get action rolling again.

  20. Starting up another, now that Janan is done. Satheras, Male Warlock. He had a really bent staff. On the behind shot you can see I cut it off at the hand, wedged a bit out and re glued it into a straighter angle. I also cut him off his integral base, since it had no texture. Hoping to try to get a little better at OSL on him, with a green gem in the staff.
  21. Brought some painting models for vacation. Finished the Hell Hound last night, didn’t WIP it. Had Yephima on my shelf of shame for a long time. If it ends up 1/100 as good as the studio version I’ll be happy. Plan on light blue skin and silvery hair, like the Bestiaries suggest. Other than that, not sure... Here she is primed with Brown Liner. That’s gonna take some work to get the skin tones brighter.
  22. Gonna start another WIP. This figure is bent, her hair is weird, and her features are MICROSCOPIC! So, I’m gonna kind of rush her. Trimmed, washed, primed in brown liner. No attempt to straighten her bend. The sword forms an S shape. Face was Terran Khaki, Faded Khaki, Amber Gold, then Splintered Bone mixed in. Then I did a half-assed lining and shading with a dilute mix of Dragon Black/Ruddy Flesh. Eyes were then done with Splintered Bone/Dragon White, and a Dragon Black/trace Ruddy Flesh dot. Had some nearly dry ?Red on the palette I slapped on her lower lip, then glinted it with the lightest mixed skin tone. The hair seems like it’s supposed to be actively blown by wind. It was painted Dragon Black, Cloudy Grey, and Cloudy Grey/Dragon White. I then Re shaded and altered things with black again. Honestly, her head could be Kitsune or Cosplay Cat ears, or a crown. But there is hair texture, so I painted it like black hair. Planning for blue dragon head since I’m due to paint another 1/5 of my Kobolds, and blue is in line. Plan on a red/orange cloak for contrast with the dragon. Earth Brown leggings. Woodstain Brown boot leather, belt, gauntlets.

You have heard rumor that a carnival passes through this town, and have come to investigate and have some fun. As you mill about the carnival grounds, you can sample delicious food from vendors, view exotic sights or shows, and participate in games of skill and chance. Let me know what types of things you are interested in, and if/how you know each other.
  24. Well, while I let Devona dry, I’ll switch gears to a mini off the shelf of waiting... The plan is for an ice ogre, with blue-gray skin.
